Default "Structural" questions for a soon-to-be newbie

So I've been doing my research on dancing before I go to audition and I have a few structural and technical questions. My questions might be stupid because I don't even work as a dancer yet and haven't seen first hand how it works, but...

    1) I'm trying to decide on a few outfits to start off with. I understand that we should wear clothes that are not only flattering but that don't give away too much. If our goal is to want them to pay and see more there is no point in walking around with it all on display but my confusion comes with the times we dance. Say I come in, get on stage, take off my clothes/ dance, and I get off the stage and start to work the floor.. Since I was just naked on stage and I'm wearing the same clothes I had when I got up there( unless I should change after I leave the stage) when I try to work the floor no one will want to pay for VIP or champagne room. They may want a dance but they just saw me naked on stage so they most likely won't want to pay to see me again. Do I just have to wait for people who didn't see me on stage to come in and try and sell rooms? Should I change outfits before i work the floor? Or am I just confused on how this whole thing works and I'm asking a dumb question hahah

    2) for the girls that already work there I know it's a keep your friends close and your enemies closer situation.. So how much about myself do I tell them? I don't want to tell them my whole life story but I don't want to be so vague that they think I'm being a bitch.

and my final question 3) how do I figure out if I need alicense? I live in NC and didn't even know that was a thing!

thank you in advance I really love the sense of community on here and the support system

    3) call the individual clubs & ask abt licence & attire.

2). Get a backstory abt yourself drawn up, learn it, stick to it. This is for both your personal safety from customers & coworkers alike, & also bc making your stripper story/persona different enough from 'the real you' can go a long way towards keeping yourself sane. Most girls are not going to pry too much, & if sm1 starts in w/ the personal ??s I tell them I do not answer or ask those kind of questions.

    1) stage time is advertising time. Ppl come to see you naked. Go onstage, do your thing, undress if they are tipping, get dressed after, then hit the floor starting w/ the ones who tipped you. Generally, tipping=interest=more$$. In Hustle Hut you can find threads abt hustling from stage the customers who come up to tip you. That being said, a common attitude among dancers is 'no tip, no strip'. It is one I live by.

    1. You are totally confused. Nudity is more the MEANS to sell your product, your product is actually your time & company. Think of stage more as advertising. Use it to scope the crowd and see who's really noticing you. Lock eyes with them. Go to them after your stage and engage them. Sure they did just see you naked, but that was from 3o feet away and in front of everyone. Dances are far more personal and VIP is generally more private and much more time. Their reaction is typically not "well I saw her naked already, done with that" If they like what they see they want to keep it going! You'll probably wear one outfit per night (maybe change mid way through the shift if you want to shake it up a bit) I rarely do. Pay attention to how easy it is to put your outfit on and off.

    2. Nothing. No one wants to hear your life story. If a girl wants to tell you hers I'd be a cautious and keep a distance cause she's probably a basket case. With that much estrogen there's far too fertile a ground for drama. You will naturally develop a friendliness over the course of a few months. The regular girls may come off as cold, they're waiting to kind of scope you out to make sure you're not coming to fuck up their work environment. Be nice & polite but don't expect too much in the way of interaction, new girls usually get cold shouldered initially.

    3. Hm. Not sure of the license. Perhaps do a search through the site?

    Good luck, you'll be fine!!

Your thinking is a little backwards. A lot of guys WONT get a dance or do a VIP until they see a girl on stage. They wanna see how you move, see how you look, etc. A good stage performance is somewhat like a preview of YOU as a dancer. If guys like what they see, they will want more.
Janesays is right. They won't be thinking, "Okay! Saw those boobs! Onto the next..." It's not how it works.

As far as outfits go, you can change if you want, but you don't have to. Ive never really found it makes a difference.

I think if you're brand new at this, it's best to keep to yourself as far as the other girls go. The last thing I would worry about if I was you is whether or not you're, "being so vague they think you're a bitch." People think I'm a bitch and I think it works to my advantage!
I suppose if you wanted to, you could come up with a FAKE, simple life story for yourself if anyone asks.

You're overthinking way too much. This isn't medical school it's stripping.
Research the ordinances where you plan to work. Keep your personal stuff to yourself. Don't treat this like a mixer. It's a job.
Get on stage get naked. Pretty straightforward.

I figured I was probably overthinking things so this helped a lot. Now that I'm not confused about the flow of things I can get things started, thank you!

Getting a lap dance and seeing a girl dance on stage are two entirely different things. Most guys come to the club hoping to get at least a lap dance if not a VIP/CR. Some guys just pick the first girl that comes up to them, other guys want to find a girl that they click with personality wise, and other guys just pick the hottest girl on stage/girl with the hottest show. If you do a good enough job on stage you will get customers requesting you or being a lot more open to dancer with you at the very least. Also, there are some clubs that are nude but you don't get fully nude on stage, so there's that. Even if you're just giving air dances, it's quite different having a woman naked 1 foot in front of you compared to 10 feet onstage.

Honestly, most girl won't give a shit about you when you first start. I've been dancing at my current club for a month and the only thing these girls know about me is I'm American. My interaction with them is basically "can I use your curling iron?" or maybe "I need another girl in the room come on" at the MOST. I think I've probably told a good amount of them I'm from CA, my name, why I moved to the UK, but they don't remember. I've had customers ask girls about me and they just say "oh she's the American one." They really could care less they're focused on making their money. If someone is really pushy about wanting to get to know you just give basic details, but honestly that's SO rare in my experience.

i havent started yet either but i have a question similar to the OPs first question. i wanna audition at a topless club. when i go on stage to dance how far into my show should i start undressing? and are you guys suggesting that if noone is tipping i dont HAVE to undress or should i undress if there are no tips in the hopes of then someone tipping?

also another thing, when you give a lapdance (i guess about 3-4 mins long) how long into that until i should undress and than what if at the end of the first dance (and im topless at this point now) the guy wants another dance, should i stay undressed and keep going or would i get dressed again and just do it all over?

the only reason i haven't auditioned yet is because of stage fright mostly, i wanna get over it asap because i wanna start work already! i also have been youtubing exotic dance videos and practicing so i dont feel as self conscious when i do start work. i wanna make sure i actually look sexy and not awkward, you know what i mean?

im sorry if these questions are stupid lol i just want to make sure i have most questions answered before i go in and possibly make a fool of myself haha. thanks guys!

It really depends on the set up at your club. When I worked in CA we danced to two 2 1/2 minute songs. So by about 3/4 of the way through the first song I knew I needed to be topless, then about a third of the way through the 2nd song totally nude. If someone was tipping a lot then I might get undressed faster. But just watch the girls, all clubs are different-- I mean, now I work somewhere where we do 3 songs and it's all laid out, you have to be dressed for the first one, take the top of your gown off during the second, and be in a g-string on the 3rd. And as far as getting nude on stage when people aren't tipping, that really depends on the club and sometimes even just the manager/DJ. Some clubs take the attitude of "no money no nudity" and others take the attitude of "cover charge means they get to see tits and ass." If no one is tipping I absolutely will NOT get full nude, fire me if you want I don't care. But I usually got topless at my old club just because I didn't want to get in trouble with the managers, sometimes if my favorite one was working I just gave a quick flash.

For your second question, again it really depends on the club. I've worked places where girls got naked before the song even started and I've worked places where they don't get fully nude until 10 seconds before the song ends. I think it's best to try and draw the process of getting undressed out, but if you have a really shitty, impatient customer that's not always an option, especially if everyone else is practically jumping out of their clothes before the customer sits down. If you're already naked, no, you would not get dressed again that would be strange.

If you are working in a club with a lot of dancers on shift, do not change your outfit. The customers will be looking for you based on what you wore on stage, changing will slow down your hustle. However, if you are at a club with very few girls on shift, mix it up a bit. I switched between a 2 piece skirt/top outfit and an evening gown on Sat because we only had 3 girls on shift. I wanted to get as much business as possible and changing up my look helped to get the attention of the customers who were zoning out.

This is a non issue. Share with the other dancers exactly as much info as you are comfortable sharing with a customer. The other dancers will tell the customers everything you share.

why would you need to change your outfit?? to fool customers into thinking it wasn't really you naked on stage? im confused lol. the only time i change my outfit is when I need a boost during a slow night. stage is a GREAT way of advertising yourself, that's your time to shine and catch the eye of customers who will want to see you naked again in a more private setting.

you can be nice to the girls, but don't stir up drama, don't talk about other girls to the rest of the girls, and don't give out personal info!! like your last name, address, ss#, or other info you wouldn't want strangers possibly using against you. be nice to everyone, but trust no one. don't be in a big hurry to befriend your co-workers, it often ends in tears.

you need to call and ask the club if you have any club-specific questions like the outfits they allow, scheduling, licenses, paper work, etc.
