    Default tattoos and work?

    Hey ladies,

So I have one tattoo right now, on my back, it's pretty small and you can't really see it most of the time cause I have long hair and it's in-between my shoulder blades. But I've been wanting to get another one for a long time and I'm thinking about getting it in the next month. I want one on my hip, about this size/placement:

But whenever I get hired I'm always asked "do you have any tattoos?" Have you guys ever had problems getting hired with more than one small tattoo? Or noticed a change in money?

I have two tattoos, one big but subtle one on my back that doesn't seem to offend anyone (even clubs with no tattoo policies), and a set of two smaller ones by my collarbones.

I seriously regret the latter and spend about 30 mins covering them up before work, and who knows how much longer checking up on the makeup in the dressing room. Everyone says "Just get some Dermablend" on this forum like it's nothing, but let me tell you, it is the biggest pain in the ass. First of all, the colors are severely limited so I have to use three different brands of coverup to get a match. Second, the sunscreen in Dermablend glows under blacklight so I'm always conscious of covering the area up with my hair so they don't look like two bruises. Also, when the makeup starts to wear off the texture gets weird and I have to reblend everything. I wouldn't be surprised if I wasted 40 minutes in an 8 hour shift on the tattoos alone.

And to put it in perspective, they're only about 2.5" long and 1" high. I can't even imagine trying to cover up the one in your picture. It would definitely limit your employment options in the future to clubs that don't care about tattoos because it would become so impractical for you to cover.

I'm heavily tattooed and I'm going to keep getting more until I run out of room. I've only ever had issues getting hired because of my weight. When you're heavily tattooed the rest better compensate. (Which is why I hit the gym 6 days a week)

If you want it get it. My money has never hurt because of my tattoos. Now being fit + fake tits + heavily tatted = no complaints. The only ones that don't like me are old farts, young black guys, and female customers.

When you deviate outside of strip club "norms" the rest of you better be pretty exceptional. Just my observation. But to the OP a couple of smaller tattoos shouldn't be an issue.

i have 7 tattoos, although they are all extremely feminine. i've only had one club ever comment on them, but they hired me and just told me that what i had was probably the limit. granted i've never worked in a really high end place though. i think as long as the rest of you is bang'n and your tattoos are tasteful and well done ( like no big gruesome prison tats or swastikas), you'd be fine. esp if you only have two. as for customers, i've never had a complaint from anyone and its been a good conversation starter sometimes.

Thanks for the advice guys! Yeah, I've never, ever had an issue with the one of my back at work-- but like I said it's small and usually covered by my hair. When customers do see it they usually just ask me what it is (it's feet with wings) and give me a compliment. I'm just more worried about this one because it's going to be much more noticeable. I mean it's not going to be HUGE but it's not going to be something I can hide either.

This is the kind of image I want, although I want my Artemis to be a bit prettier!

As you know, I have a pretty big one one my side, as well as several others. It's never affected me getting hired, even at Browns, who are notoriously anti-tattoos.
However, be prepared for every single fucking customer to comment on any obvious ones you have.
I get asked by a least 90% of customers "What does your tattoo say? What does it mean? What's the story behind it?Where did you get it?"
They'll then normally tell you why they love/hate tattoos and why they have/don't have any.
I don't really mind as it saves me from having to think of things to say for a few minutes, but it does get annoying, and for a while I just used to give a big smile and say "It says 'Come and have a dance if you want to read my tattoo'".
That would normally get a laugh at least although a few guys got pissy that I didn't want to sit and tell them all about my tattoos for free.
Definitely hasn't hurt my money though, but I'm planning a half sleeve in the near future, which I think will give me more problems with money and getting hired.

When I get the inevitable "What does that say/mean?" I reply sarcastically "It doesn't say 'This bitch works for free'!"

Maybe you should wait until you find a club where you want to stay, and see what their policies are. Also, you can try getting temporary tattoos to see how they affect your earnings.

I think I'm going to meet with a tattoo artist and start working on developing the design to see exactly how big it would end up being... I want it to be small but I like the idea of having the dogs with her as well so I know that would make it bigger. I have a feeling it might take a while for me to get the ball rolling anyway since the place I want to go has a crazy waiting list and I don't have a design to give them this time... I'm sort of nervous about that, last time I knew exactly what I wanted and didn't have to sit and explain it to anyone!

I have a rather large piece down my side and it has never hindered me from getting hired at a club. No customer has ever said to my face that they don't like it either -- on the contrary, many say they don't normally like tattoos but quite like that one on me since it follows my curves. Essentially, as long as it's a well done piece, you will be fine. It's when you have the bad quality tattoos that they start affecting your ability to get hired and make sales. Of course, the location you want is hidden by many outfits, so most customers won't even realize you have it until they've committed to the sale.

I always thought I wanted tattoos but I never had anything I REALLY wanted to get.. so right now I have none. But after working at so many different clubs I've been one of the only dancers with no tattoos. So now I don't really want any because it's becoming different to not have any at all (at the clubs I've worked at, at least). And from my experience there are customers who love tattoos (and a LOT of tattoos, not just one or two) and customers who hate them. Most of the customers I talk to though hate tattoos and love that I don't have any.

I love tattoos on OTHER people just not on me lol

I have one tattoo that is practically invisible, but I think some girls can pull them off really well and some can't. You have to be able to own the look. Most high end clubs don't like tattoos, but some don't mind a few.

I'm tempted to get one on my shoulder blade to cover up one this really big ugly scar from having a freckle cut off there.

I love my one tatt, & just haven't gotten around to getting any more. I like to have them where I can see them, so no to any on the back. So far hasn't affected any club work but it's just one

I'm also heavily tattooed. I have one full sleeve, my other forearm is done as well, I have some on my back & one on my outer thigh. I was never turned down at a club bc of them and I've worked in LA & Vegas.
It was always a conversation starter. The customers loved them. I even had some who didn't like Tattoos tell me they really liked mine.

I realized one of the top earners at the club I just quit, which is very high-end and super picky, has a tattoo in the same place I want about 3x as big as what I'm thinking of, so I'm just gonna go for it! If she can get hired and do well with one that large then I think I'll be OK.
