So currently I cam, and I make enough money to feed myself and survive. But I'm looking for a second, vanilla job using my degree so Ill be happier and have more money.
I graduated top of my class, did lots of internships, have references, professors loved me, the whole 9. My degree was in biochem and I have lots of experience so I should be able to find a lab tech job no problem (I worked full time as a lab tech for a year after I graduated, then I took a year off cuz of health issues, and now Im looking for a job again). But all the lab tech research jobs are at the university where I graduated, pretty much. My university and its related hospital system pretty much contain all the research jobs in my area. Now, on the application they ask if I have financial obligations to the university that are delinquent and I said yes because I haven't been paying my student loans and I'm pretty sure they've defaulted but I also said I'm trying to work with them on solving the issue (which is true).
But this is such a paradox-will they deny me the job because I can't pay my student loans? But I need a second job TO pay my student loans! How circular is this???
