Default Do you ever suddenly hate ALL your stripper clothes/shoes?

I'm in a total rut lately with my work outfits. I can't stand any of my shit! I'm bored by my shoes, bras, bottoms, jewelry, and hair.

How do you go about switching up your work look? I feel like this isn't like doing a normal makeover, since as a dancer you have your target demographic to consider.

Well, what do you normally do/wear?

It's generally pretty easy to switch up your look without alienating the general strip club attending public. If you're a blonde, go brunette or get some highlights or try a different shade of blonde or curl it instead of straightening it. If you always wear colourful bikinis, try some colourful dresses or black dresses or lingerie sets -- that kind of switch will inevitably result in a jewelry switch so that it complements the outfit.

Sometimes it's as simple as just buying one new outfit that's not something you normally wear but that looks good on you. I was really into dresses for a while and then got sick of all of them, so I bought a crop top because I thought they were cute and showed off my tummy, and now I have a drawer full of crop tops. I recently got sick of those, so I thought I'd try out a more lingerie look with a garter belt since I've always thought that looks sexy, and voila, totally different look that I'm not yet sick of. I usually have wavy hair and will straighten it when I feel like switching things up too. None of these changes have been alienating since they're all still flattering and mainstream.

Haha, as usual, you're right. Why do I feel like I'm going to alienate my customers? I'm hot!

I work a Candace Swanepoel or Doutzen Kroes for Victoria's Secret look. As in, very typical "lingerie model" stuff: lacy lingerie sets with messy blonde hair and simple smokey eye make-up. Maybe I should try wearing false eyelashes again and actually styling my hair to look more stripper-y and less picturesque.

Another thing I just thought of is the fact that I've been wearing the same outfit all night lately. Months ago, I used to change at least once or twice, which always gave me a little burst of motivation.

What kind of crop tops were you wearing, and what did you pair them with? All I can picture are the t-shirt kind.

That does sound like a good look! You could try throwing in a few mini dresses into the mix. Those will still work with your hair and makeup but also make you look more strippery and less lingerie model. Easy to switch back to lingerie too if you find a dress isn't working with the crowd.

There's something to be said for wearing the same outfit though! It's much easier for customers to remember you, and if an outfit is working will with the crowd, why change it?

I had a ton of short-sleeve t-shirt crop tops but recently got sick of them so I gave them all away. I still have a few long sleeve crop tops like this: http://www.sirenaz.com/collections/l...leeve-crop-top A couple of wrap ones sort of like this: http://www.asos.com/ASOS-Petite/ASOS...px?iid=2776341 (the cut-out is higher so part of my bra peeks out instead though… I like to pair a black top with a colourful bra underneath) A couple like this: http://www.polyvore.com/red_wrap_fro...ng?id=79177837 One with a criss-cross back like this: http://www.forever21.com/images/3_ba...5878134-05.jpg And one with this sort of knot at the front with long-sleeved: http://www.thisnext.com/item/C3D8EA8...p-Top-View-All

There are a lot of prostitot stores around here and crop tops have apparently been all the rage with the tweens lately, so it's been pretty easy to stock up on a variety of them. I like the long-sleeve ones since my club gets cold and of course cleavage-baring ones are great. Usually I wear them with some cute semi-lacy panties (I bought http://www.lasenza.co.uk/media/catal...23740-64K3.jpg in basically every colour… The lacy back is super flattering and the front is fairly normal) and over the knee socks (again, cold club and it really helps my knees on stage). Sometimes I'll wear them with one of those micro mini skirts like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sexy-Strippe...-/270751009788 but usually just the panties.

I don't think I wear half the stuff I used to from two years ago. I got the same way, I went through 'phases' with my outfits. Had a pink phase, sparkly phase, lingerie phase etc. Same with my shoes, I had a lot of pairs in case I got picky. I go to yandy .com to get inexpensive new outfits. People may rag on me but lately I've been wearing whatever looks flattering and not necessarily made by a stripper brand (e.g. bra and panty set underneath a skimpy shirt and shorts).

If you have a Pretty Girl or Rainbow in your area that could be an option to look for cheap outfit ideas to experiment with. You could also experiment with regular revealing clothing too if your club allows that, guys really enjoy my sets where I strip out of actual clothes and makes me stand out more.

YES. i go through favorite outfit phases..i wore only pink/school girl/lacey for awhile because i made good money with it, then got sick of it and went through a tight mini dress phase..now i'm doing the sexy two pieces with the-long-skirt-with-the-slit look my prized money making outfit is sparky lime green two piece right now. i'll do one outfit a week when im trying to switch it up, to give me a chance to see if i like the look before buying more like it, and to give my wallet a break because the dress maker i buy from is tres tres expensive!
i've noticed that with every new outfit i buy, i go through a money making spree at the club though..no matter what it is. i think its because i feel so beautiful with a fresh new outfit, it just attracts money.
i absolutely recommend switching things up!

You have such a good point! I do think that my outfit boredom is apparent to my customers, which is affecting my sales, which is making me more bored and negative, etc etc.

I'm happy to hear that lime works for you. I really like the color green and I think it looks pretty against my skin tone, but I worry that men don't "understand" green as a sexy color. Maybe I'll go get some sexy citrus-colored lingerie and see how that makes me feel.

I only get frustrated with my outfits when my weight fluctuates 5-10lbs. The fit then isn't quite what I like it to be (mostly around my love handle/hip area) and I feel self conscious.

If you have sm sewing skills, a little creativity goes a long way. I have made outfits feel brand-new by adding embroidery, rhinestones, beading, or changing hemlines or necklines. I buy the materials from a craft store, they are inexpensive, or in one case I took the rhinestone strings from a broken pair of strappy sandals to bling-out a couple of outfits.
