Default Lucrative business idea but too scared to implement it

    Hey Ladies,

I would really appreciate some advice. I have what I would consider a Lucrative business idea that is within the Adult Industry (based online). I have been a web designer for over 6 years so I have the ability to develop the website (which is a pretty extensive website) at an extremely low cost financially. I also have over 6 years knowledge and experience with promoting, advertising and marketing.

I know it's something cam girls and sex workers would love and it's very unique and something that has not been done (not that I am aware of) before.

However I am scared to implement the idea and make it reality because in terms of Adult Laws I don't know what I am doing. I think having an adult related website is always risky because there are so many different laws in place for all different pats of the world.

I'm really unsure what to do Can anyone offer some advice or insight?

As long as your site host allows adult sites and your payment processor does as well, you should be OK. Keeping in mind you don't do sites for underage models and those who do illegal fetishes like bestiality.

Oh yeah I have ticked all boxes for that.
Underage girls, underage guys, beastiality, necrophilia, rape etc and having an over 18 entry box on arrival of the website.

But when reading on the internet it seems despite ensuring all of those boxes have been ticked that there are still loopholes that could land you in allot of shit.
I heard that if someone under the age of 18 still enters your site and signs up and the parent finds out they could still sue your arse?

^^^ these days, there are three significant concerns regarding new US based adult websites ... Section 2257, 'net neutrality', and FDIC/DoJ bank pressure.

^In order to protect yourself you need to follow UK laws to the T, but be aware that many individuals using your site will be US-based and operating as independent contractors, so you need to make sure they're within the laws of their country. If they see a potential risk in using your site they'll steer clear.

Section 2257 involves 'producers' of adult content ( i.e. adult websites of any kind ) being exposed to a potential 10 year prison term if they transmit adult content without having detailed documentation on file regarding each and every person appearing in the adult content they are transmitting. Unfortunately, for adult webcam hosts and 3rd party content adult sites, Section 2257 can be violated by a camgirl bringing a 'friend' on camera, by new content being posted, etc. I don't know how this might affect a UK based website from a 'criminal charges' standpoint. However, its fairly certain that said UK based website could have it's IP blocked on all US internet backbones, thus cutting off access to both US based camgirls and US based paying customers, if accusations of Section 2257 violations were made.

'Net Neutrality' involves a newly approved US regulatory environment that will force websites requiring high bandwidth to pay 'extra' to the owners of the US internet backbone ( AT&T, Verizon, others ) for the 'privelege' of maintaining the same high bandwidth in the future which they are receiving today 'for free'. This change was the result of a Verizon lawsuit ... with the US courts agreeing that Netflix ( thus any other high bandwidth / video streaming website ) doesn't have an inherent 'right' to the bandwidth necessary to allow a hi-res video stream through the internet backbone owned by Verizon. Thus Netflix ( and other video streaming sites ) will soon face a decision to either pay extra money to AT&T, Verizon etc. for admission to 'fast lane' US internet backbone service, or to have their video streams slowed down to the point where they are 'unwatchable' by US website customers.

FDIC / DoJ pressure refers to a behind the scenes 'enforcement' operation against US banks handling money for 3rd party ( internet ) payment processors. The FDIC is officially on record has having certain types of online businesses ( adult content, firearms, a list of about 30 in total ) as posing a 'high risk' for the banks who handle such accounts, and the D of J has already issued 'charges' against some US banks because they were handling international funds transfers for 3rd party payment processors servicing those 'high risk' industries. This has already led to one big bank cancelling adult industry related accounts, another bank cancelling firearms related accounts, another bank being fined millions of dollars and ordered to drop 3rd party payment processors as customers, etc. Where a UK based website is concerned, this may compromise that site's ability to receive future credit card charges from US customers, as well as to make future 'payments' to US camgirls, via 3rd party payment processors.
