Hey All,
So this morning was my first time camming on SM, and only 30 minutes in, an anonymous user in guest chat starts asking me questions about myself, not to learn personal information, but to VERIFY it.
Him: "Can I ask you a question? It's kind of a weird question"
Me: "Go for it"
Him: "How would you feel if your brother had an account on here?"
Me (still cheerful and naive): "I would probably not care if he had an account, but I would care if he were watching me."
Him: "Oh ok...so how is NYC?"
This actually scared the shit out of me. I thought it WAS my brother at first, and later verified that it was not-just some anonymous user who knows a lot of stuff about me and is creeping me out??? I read all the camming safety stuff on here and took precautions but nothing prepared me for that. I didn't answer him, immediately logged off without any warning, and sat there with my heart racing.
For the record YES I absolutely realize in retrospect that he tripped me up with that question about my bro and I should have lied about the whole ordeal as if I don't even have one...that was a learning experience. I guess I can handle people I know from real life finding out I cam but not anonymous users randomly knowing personal info about me??
I have an online video blog under a different username (not my real name) and I'm sure if someone researched me well enough, they could find out my real name and location through that-but I wasn't expecting any of this to happen so quickly! I don't even talk about my family in my online content :-/
At this point I don't know what to do-I started camming because I need the $$$ on a schedule that I can set. I'm wondering if it's even safe to continue, if stripping is any safer, or if I should keep going, learn from this experience, and just block that one person. Any advice would be appreciated-thanks.
