Walk in, say you just want to dance for the night ( or week, however long you need) and they'll let you? I would love that. Any Chicago that are that lenient?

There are a lot of clubs that accept travelers. They usually want you to stay for longer than a night though. But you could easily get hired, dance a night, and then leave if you never intend to go back and don't care what they think anyway.
Idk, are you talking about traveling or are you asking if there are clubs where you can just go in and dance a couple nights when your money is low and then disappear for 2 months and then come back to the same club and ask to dance a couple nights again?
Don't try to win over the haters. You are not the Jerk Whisperer.
Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

Both I guess. Traveling and disappearing. Haha

The club I work at doesn't care if I "disappear". I didn't work for two months and then randomly went in during the day this week and nobody said anything. I'm not in Chicago but I'm sure there are a lot of clubs like that. Just call all the clubs and ask them. When I started at my club the first thing they told me was "you can work once a week or once a month we don't care".

See now THAT is a lenient club, I like it! My club doesn't so thatyou have to work at least 4 shifts, and even let them know those days. If you don't show up in two weeks they'll assume you quite and they fire you. Not fair

But in a way, I guess it is fair. Just not to those who don't want to commit

the northeast is full of schedule nazi clubs. having to work at least 2-3 shifts per week, and if you don't show up you pay a fine or get fired. it could be hard to find, but i feel like it would be worth it! i could only dream of one day working at a club that didn't control my every move

No schedule is good and bad. The freedom is nice but you also deal with the best nights being packed with girls.

There is a club in my area that advertises this scheduling model specifically. Show up whenever you want, go home whenever you want. Just pay your house fees, thankyouverymuch. It's a juice bar with only private dances available, so there's that. I've never been there, but I'm pretty sure it is for dancers who can't get hired anywhere else due to reliability issues or escorts looking for bookings.
Any large city will have flexibility with dancer scheduling. Small cities are even more flexible due to a smaller talent pool. I've never been to Chicago, but I can almost guarantee you can find a club that will suit your needs.![]()
My club is lenient. House fee is $40 if you want to be a "come in whenever I want" dancer (guest dancer). If you commit to a schedule (even if it's only 1 night a week) it is only $20. But it's like 4 hours away from Chicago. Not worth it to drive there for only 1 night unless you're passing through the area anyhow. I take months off at a time, but I'll schedule like 2 months worth of work time so I can pay $20.
It totally depends and you need to actually work a shift in a given club to find out. From my experience, sometimes scheduling is mandatory and will need to be set up two weeks in advance, similar to being hired for a vanilla job. Sometimes you can walk in, audition and work that night, and you'll find out that while club management claims to "require" a schedule or minimum weekly shifts, it's not actually at all necessary and you can work at will.
Go check out clubs in your area and see what you can get away with.
Agreed - as with anything in dancing, there's a big difference between the written rules and the actual rules. The last time I auditioned, the manager told me "we like to see you in here four times a week." I laughed and said that wouldn't be possible with my schedule, and he said that that was fine. As long as you're confident and professional, and you've already been 'hired', many clubs are willing to work with your schedule.

There are plenty of clubs like that.
In CHI you could always lie and make it *seem* like you are going to be dancing regularly, and then just make your money and leave. Just remember that if you do that and don't keep in touch wit the club, the most likely scenario if you ever come back will just be that you have to re-audition.

I think it just depends on the area and the club. I worked in LA for years and "booking" "schedules" were totally foreign concepts to me in the SC. I just worked whenever the fuck I wanted to work and only got shit from a manager if I was gone for more than a week. I would just make up some excuse about family/school/vacation/my 'other' job/etc and they would frown and say "don't do it again" and I would do it again a month later and we'd have the same conversation... it was lovely.
But now that I work in the UK it seems like there are NO clubs that work that way and it makes me sad. The most flexible club I've worked at is Stringfellows, you don't have to book there, just work 3 days a week and one Monday/Saturday every month, but there's a reason for that... they have 175+ girls! Even in LA I always worked the same days anyway cause I just tend to fall into patterns, but when you know that you HAVE to go in and have to pick your days beforehand, it just adds a whole level of stress that I feel like should not be a part of my job.
Anyway, that was a big of an off topic rant! I just think booking and stripping should never ever go together. My advice would be to call around the area you want to work, maybe starting with the larger clubs, because they will probably be more flexible.
