    Default Trademarking your cam name

I know it may cost a pretty penny, but would there be any benefit to trademarking your cam name, specifically legal benefits?

There are a few videos of my recorded shows online. One vid is on pornhub, the other vids are on shitty websites that I will not name. Yes I have reported them, no, I do not think they give a fuck. If I were to "coin" my cam name, so to speak, will it prevent porn sites from stealing ANY of my content and making money off of it?

It annoys me SO MUCH that people record my cam shows and then make money. Would they get away with it if I were a trademark??

It would not prevent you from stealing your content unless they are using your trademarked name. In which case they could just change the video name to something generic like "horny blonde fucks a dildo"

If they have recorded a video from a cam site then the cam site owns the content and there's nothing you can do about it.

For skype shows you could sue them.

For videos that you made you could sue them. If you've sent them a proper DMCA (which would include your real name, that's why its smart to get a business license) and they ignored it then you can sue them. Actually you don't even need to send them a DMCA you can just flat out sue them, DMCA's are common curteousy.

I mean come on ladies, when I worked in the web design field I had to be extremely careful when using images and had to purchase them from stock photo companies and make sure that I always had the license on hand because... there are so many instances of people getting sued for using photos without permission. A good friend of mine settled with someone for $4400! It was just a shitty ass photo of a field that was super bad quality. But the guy who owned the rights had an attorney contact her and was going to sue (which was going to cost much more). So why does it seem like we are not being able to do anything?

There are seriously image trolls who take crappy quality photos and disperse them around the web and wait for an unsuspecting person to use them on their website and then BAM! they lawyer up and settle.

TM is a waste of money IMO.

If its stolen content from a site, the site will remove it.

If its used for promotion, the site owns it and can do as they wish

I like to believe anything can be used for promotion. If I find any of my recorded shows, screen capped photos, I comment on it with my link and twitter. I also DMCA them, but that takes a couple days, so might as well get some free advertisement.

I've started doing this as well. I have sold the link to one of my recorded shows, and ended up making some nice coin.

I considered trademarking my non-cam initial modeling name/alter ego/actual name that some people call me. A lot of others have popped up with the same stupid emo name I picked for myself 12 years ago, but, i've stuck with it. now these other chicks are popping up on google in close promimity to MY results (lol, what a complaint, it seems so petty).

but really, with a trademark, what could i even do about this? threaten cease and desist orders via email? doubtful.... womp womp
