Default "Natural born hustler" or can you become one?

You know those girls... Every club has at least one. They are hustlers by nature, they have a personality that just draws attention to them. They are really entertaining and it just comes natural to them to make tons of money.

do you think some people are just born like that or can you morph into "the life of the party", always knowing what to say and how to get the money...

I feel like it's just their personality. I know a few more people (they're actually guys, and coincidentally in sales and killing it) that are like that. They are crazy/interesting in a way and just draw attention to them.

It's like people that are naturally skinny with a high metabolism. I'm not naturally skinny but I damn well made myself that way through hard work and discipline. Same with hustling. Yeah some may be born with it but those that have clawed their way to the top are the ones to watch out for.

Lol I like that! Actually, now that I think about it I know a girl that became a super hustler just because she wanted it so bad. She's not the "center of attraction"/ interesting person that entertains anyone type though, more like "I'm not leaving until I have all your money"..

it can definitely be learned! i know what you mean..i work with a girl who not only seems to love working, but just draws males and female customers alike, like bug to a flame. she isn't especially hot either, its just her personality.
somebody like me will have to try a lot harder, but it can be done.. there are people out there who will have a lot harder of a time than others though. i think one think you really have to shake off is insecurity and lack of confidence if you really want to become a great hustler. that needs to come first

I've been "accused" of being a hustler by my friends like it's a bad thing but I'm really not. I don't go out of my way to talk to people unless it's dead and sure as hell don't go out of my way to talk to female customers. I just jiggle my two funbags and it hypnotizes people. I'm like the Pied Piper with tits.

I think some ppl just have it. The rest of us have to work at it. I don't love being at work every night and unfortunately I do let people get to me too much which affects my money. But when I'm happy with all other things in my life and get into a positivity zone all around it also makes me more $$$ at work. It all flows together, really. I can be a fun person but it's like the planets have to be aligned just right :/ otherwise I have to work at it by spending a good amount pampering myself before work doing make up and hair and listening to good music and jamming out in the car in the way to work. It's a process!
Sometimes it just takes a shot of tequila (or two) to get me in that zone. Some ppl just a Molly or a line of coke. Whatever floats your boat.

When I started, I had no idea how to talk to people. I would sit at the bar watching the other strippers' amazing stage shows, just marveling at their composure and how ridiculously sexy they looked up there. I also wouldn't talk to the customers unless they approached me. I didn't understand how conversations worked...how to get someone talking, how to keep them talking, and how to steer the conversation in the direction you want. I had no idea how these beautiful women could walk up to complete strangers and have them walking to the private dance booths within minutes. What were they saying to these men? I didn't understand any of it.

I am living proof that hustle can be learned. As long as you're smart, ambitious, willing to practice, and pay lots of attention at work, you can get there. I'm a severe introvert by nature (I lose energy when interacting with people), and all I have to say is, fake it 'til you make it.

Also sometimes you're just not a guy's type. At all. I do very well with older men and younger guys that are more reserved, but have a hard time getting money out of the frat boys that come into my club at night.

By the time I retired from my old dive where I was a top earner, some of my coworkers used to ask me to give them lessons, and others said that what I had couldn't be taught. Only a couple worked with me five years before, when I was pudgy and alienating. I'm proof that you can become one. I'm guessing that a big percentage of the "naturals" have a story like mine too, you would just never know.

I will grudgingly admit that looks don't always =top earner status. One of my co-workers is a bit plain, but she can yap. Then there is our resident pariah who always has a Lifetime "Movie of the week" ailment. She racks up those dances however she can. She came in (allegedly) wearing a Michael Jackson surgical mask at which point another dancer asked if she had SARS or H1N1.

Hustling is a skill and no one can really tell you what will work for you. You just have to get out there and learn how to spot "your" customers. As far as naturally born hustlers? I don't think any skill is naturally born. Everything needs to be learned to a certain degree. Sure, you may have your strong points, but if you don't work on those points an untalented but enthusiastic person will come along and eat your lunch.

Just get out there and practice, practice, practice. It took me years to learn some good hustling skills. I still made pretty good money just blindly stumbling around the club. Eventually, I figured out what worked best for me. You just have to get out there and try it to know what your hustling personality is. Just don't stop trying until you are successful.
