Do you think they're just cheap? They literally have no stability , the first pair I ordered (5" platforms) I can't even stand in them without tipping over and wobbling...
anyway, where can I get shoes in queens/manhattan? That are quality.

What brand of shoes are you wearing? Pleaser is the brand most girls use and pretty much every stripper I know has this shoe in either the 6 or 7 inch height. They're cheap, simple, will match pretty much anything, and have a strap so that you're less likely to turn an ankle. I suggest starting with those. A lot of the more novel shoes look cool, but can be harder to walk in.
They're basic platforms from gojane.com.. I wanted something I could wear outside of the stripclub as we'll
So much for that..
I guess I have to return them
I didn't know pleasers were the protocol! I'm in the auditioning stages
I'll look into finding those in stores. I'm going to try on before I buy this time
Thanks

Dance shoes offer a lot more support and comfort than regular heels, but are definitely not for outside the club.
While I'm unfamiliar with the New York area, there are usually stores that are intended for strippers that have a good selection of shoes, though prices are usually better online.

Get some REAL stripper shoes, and DO NOT wear them outside the club. Why? Sanitary reasons: you, and other dancers will be putting their bodies on the stage.
This is a good shoe for beginners: http://www.snaz75.com/el-656-march.html
And I've also heard good things about the 6" version mentioned above, though the arch looks a bit viscious to me: http://snaz75.com/el-601-juliet.html

There's really no way around it. If you aren't used to wearing platform heels, you ARE going to turn your ankles in the beginning. Some girls claim they've been lucky enough to not have it happen but I don't entirely believe them; I've pretty much been heel devout (or completely barefoot) since I was around 13, including platforms at times, and even I turned my ankles for a while with my first pair. The only thing that is going to actually resolve the issue is practice, practice, practice.
[Even now, after wearing stripper shoes both in and outside the club for years, I still occasionally turn my ankle or fall. Granted, though, it's been almost exclusively outside the club since that first pair. There is even an exaggerated, running joke among myself and the friends who have seen me in the club: Inevitably, there is always one person who asks how I can walk in them. "I can dance in these much, much better than I can walk in them." "Really?" "No shit, man. It's like magic. She used to do flips and spins and shit on a stage in those shoes, but she turns into Bambi legs the second she walks out of a club in them."]
I also became a bit of an Ellie convert last year. I'll always be devoted to Pleasers like a spouse, but Ellie is kinda like my long term side bitch now. They just seem to fit better, especially if it's a pair that isn't plastic, and fit can make a world of difference. It just seems that I'm way too hard on their boots.
As something to consider, maybe try boots? They're much more secure and easier to keep your balance in, I think. When I was thinking about buying a pair of 8" shoes, another girl let me borrow hers and I was basically useless in them. The 8" boots she let me borrow, though, wore like a dream.
Just to reiterate what Jay said- never crossover your shoes. ITC shoes are dedicated ITC shoes and should never be worn outside the club (or your house if you practice walking/dancing in them at home.) If you want to wear them OTC, wear a pair you never plan to wear at work again and/or buy a dedicated OTC set.
Exotic dancing is like any other job.If you work in an office, you wear dress shoes and a suit.If you work in a restaraunt, you wear skid resistant shoes and a uniform. If you work in a strip club, you wear 7" stilettos and lycra g-strings.
I definitely second you trying a pair of boots. When I first started I mostly danced in knee-high PVCs that I actually found in my clubs "give away" box. They felt much more stable to me; I would usually put them on about halfway through the night. I got acclimated pretty quickly that way. Also, if you haven't spent much time in heels that size I really suggest you spend a lot of time strenghthening your ankles. Practice picking things up with your toes and sit in lotus position. Google/Youtube some videos about it and practice -this could really save you from pain and or a sprain down the road when you fall and turn your ankle. It will make it a lot easier to walk in them as well!
