Dizzy Can you critique my body + help me find a "look"? (LOTS of face and body pics)

(pics at bottom. tl;dr help me figure out my body goals and what stripper persona would suit my body/style/face/age which is nineteen. thank you

Hey there! Sooooo I recently got hired at a club in my area, I'm not sure if it would be considered a dive or not...it's called Barbarella's in Ottawa.

I didn't audition or anything, we just spoke briefly and he told me to come in whenever and work, that I would be allowed to skip stage for a few work shifts until I got more comfortable.

Anyways, a regular patron of the club that I went with said I was pretty enough to work there but that I would need to drop about 10lbs to successfully compete with the other girls. I know he is right, and I've been trying hard to lose weight but it's really not coming off fast enough. I've been working out for 3 months and have lost 4-5 lbs max, although gained a little little bit of muscle. I'm 5'4" and 134-133 lbs. I am trying to up my workouts from 3 days a week to 5, and will eventually do a juice cleanse before I begin working to see if that'll shed some weight.

Also...I don't know what my look should be...In the real world I am told I am hot or beautiful (Im not very confident though....have struggled a lot with my appearance and with my face, I have been diagnosed with body dysmorphic disorder), but I have been told by previous managers in the sex industry that I am "not gorgeous, only cute" and I would agree with that. I think I am average-ish plain in the face but I have a baby face that I could use to my advantage. I am very young, 19, and I look very young...I smile a lot and laugh a lot (my natural reaction to everything lol, when i feel awkward i just giggle) and have deep dimples from cheek piercings I took out, and my face is very cherub-y when I smile.

So what I'm wondering is...should I capitalize on my innocent look and youthfulness by dressing up like a schoolgirl or something a lot, or wearing cutesy clothes, or should I glam it up and try to look a bit more sophisticated and put together? I am heavily tattooed so I considered looking more glam and put-together, like red+black fancy lingerie with thigh highs and garters and 7 inch heels of course.

Anyways! Here are my photos, I've attached body pics (topless too, hope that doesn't bother anyone??) and face pics.

ps I no longer have the extensions. I got my hair cut so the short hair pic is what my hair looks like now. But when I have some $$ Im thinking buying some extensions to wear for work.

The black thing around my neck in the body pics is my shirt haha...I just pulled it up.

Sorry for the MASSIVE photo dump!!

Thank you so much for your time!

I don't know what your coworkers look like, but don't trust him. Tons of regulars prey on new (especially young) dancers' lack of confidence in order to get more out of them for less $$ by lowering their perceptions of their worth. If he hasn't actually given you any money, I'm sure he got off on the power trip of being an "expert" anyway and is probably hoping you'll come back for more advice.

As far as your look goes, I suggest keeping it simple. A schoolgirl look or more complicated cuts/colors would compete with your tattoos and beautiful face too much. Solid colors and basic cuts will be the most flattering. Also, I have seen dancers with your body type even in upscale clubs. Don't stress.

aww what're you talking about, you're so pretty!. capitalize on your cute young looking face. i've never looked "hot"..mostly get people telling me i'm "cute" or "adorable" its just the way i'm built. go with it instead of fighting it. i think you would look best in simple cute outfits..not too much glitter, patterns, or rhinestones..with your tattoos it could look a bit too "busy". besides, you want your natural beauty to shine through, keep the focus on you. wear your clothes instead of your clothes wearing you. i would definitely suggest getting hair extensions if your hair is short though!!

I was an escort when I was 18 and so he was actually an old client I was catching up with, it was by chance that we went to Barbarella's for lunch and that I got an opportunity to speak with the manager. I know that this guy personally is into "spinners" and spinners are all the rage in full service work so that might be where he is getting this idea from. He said he will come see me as a dancer though, regardless.

And phew thank you for reassuring me about my body + the more upscale clubs!! I've been stressing a lot lately because even the massage parlour I was hoping to interview for has girls with a maximum waist circumference of 26 inches. I'm 28 inches in the waist. I've just been in this mindset that I'm chubby and I need to get super fit for anyone to throw any money at me.

Thank you for the kind words. I get adorable a lot too! Personality + looks combined. I'll take your advice about embracing it.

OK perfect, I was thinking the same thing about you and lola regarding the workwear. I'm thinking just plain black + lacey with thigh highs + pretty garter (i have some self injury scars on my legs and stomach, so I think the garter and thigh highs would conceal them entirely). Or do you think even the garter would be too much/too busy? Do you think I should wear clear stripper heels or some black ones to match the rest of the outfit? I know clear heels give more of an illusion of "natural" elongation.

I've worked with girls similar to your size and body type at upscale clubs. Don't forget, a lot of men love curves !
I think you have a cute face, but I would suggest wearing extensions while you're at work.

And take anything customers tell you with a grain of salt. A lot of club regulars act like know it alls, but in reality they have no clue about what's REALLY going on.

HAHA. You are FINE. And I mean, FINE.
Girl, I have worked at Barbs for a year, in fact I think I remember you from this Tuesday at lunch, or maybe it was last week? I think you danced with Bridgette maybe to get a feel for how lapdancing works? Sorry if I'm thinking of someone else! Anyways, I'm 5'7" and 140-145 depending on what time of the month it is. When I started there I was 20 lbs heavier, and ironically, was making waaaaay better money than now. The clientele there enjoys the "girl next door" type. 90% of the custies are governement workers so it doesn't exactly take a lot to get them excited... They want a cute sweet girl to spend time with. I think you would do just fine with your look just the way it is. Also don't forget about how much of a work out dancing is! At barbs you'll be put on a stage rotation when you sign in, and do 2-3 shows in a 6 hour shift usually, that's 40 min of cardio right there (all depends on how much effort you put into the show of course, 3 straight songs of floor work doesn't burn too many calories). My body has improved a lot since switching to barbs from a non-stage club and I think the constant exercise has a lot to do with it. GO audition! And say hi to me when you start, I'm Vanessa there and I'm usually around 12-6 a few days a week

Like I told you when I first met you, you will be just fine!! You don't need a critique, you don't need to lose weight, and you don't need to worry about a thing. That customer has a very specific body type he tends to like, and his opinion that you need to lose 10lbs to be any competition is dead wrong with the general clientele that comes in. You are absolutely beautiful and incredibly personable -- I don't envision you having ANY problem making money at Barb's (which isn't a dive, don't worry).

I think you should try out both the innocent schoolgirl and the glam lingerie look to figure out which feels more comfortable for you and which one makes more money -- you also don't have to pick one, because you can alternate between the two (and others!) depending on your mood and the crowd. I think both would suit you well, so it comes down to personal preference and the crowd. I often have a couple of looks available on my locker!

If you have any questions or need help with anything, please please please don't hesitate to PM me on here. I'm totally happy to help however I can! Let me know when you go in for your first shift and I'll do my best to come in at the same time if you'd feel better having a friendly face in the bar.

Lose wgt? No, but I would tone up a bit esp around the midsection. Wgt is a really relative thing after all, one of my dancer friends is almost 2in shorter than me but 10lbs heavier bc it is all muscle. We are both pretty muscular bc we do tons of pole work. That will tone you up like nobody's business, but the exercise you get from dancing alone will help you drop any troublesome 5lbs or so & up the muscle tone pretty quickly.

Your midsection could use some toning. My midsection is my Achilles heel. I do abs about 5x a week at the gym. I go 5-6 times a week, about an hour a day. You do have a very cute face. Your back could also use some toning unless it's the angle. Your thighs, butt, and arms appear fine. The midsection is going to be a focal point since you are smaller chested.

I never go by the number on the scale. I chucked my home scale out a long time ago. I will weigh myself at work occasionally out of sheer curiosity. You need to up your workouts to more than 3 days a week if you want to see results. You reap what you sow. It took me 2 years to lose 30 llbs but I did it through hard work, clean eating, dedication and discipline.

You should also consider your economic and employment priorities. If you want to have more options available to you then yes, you should tone up. When I was fat my options were "Shithole A" and "Shithole B". Now I work at a nice solid suburban club that has a decent reputation for pretty girls. I would NEVER have been hired here at my past weight of 150 llbs.

You should not try to lose a vast amount of weight rapidly via crash dieting and cleansing IME. All it does is mess you up and the weight comes back 10x more.

Play up the girl next door for now, the guys will love the hell out of you. I can see you transitioning well to a more severe/sophisticated look as you age. And as others have said, costumes and elaborate outfits will clash with the art (I love that moth, btw). Keep working out, it never hurts, but if you wanted to start dancing now there's no reason not to. Men don't know what gorgeous is, its hardly ever real. I think your face is going to mature very well and you will be striking at 25.

Thanks for all the replies guys!! I know my midsection is where I need to tighten up, except I have always been under the impression that you can't spot treat... the reason my midsection looks like that is because there's a layer of fat over my stomach that will only disappear if I lose weight in general. I'm upping my cardio now so I can burn some of that fat off and I do a little bit of abs 3x a week so there will be some definition when I lose the weight. Honestly I think 5lbs is the max I need for now, which shouldn't be hard if I introduce some spinning classes into my routine.

Shannadior~ thank you so much, you really helped ease my mind about the idea of working. I had read so often about catty girls and feelings of alienation in the club...that was partly why I was fearful of ever coming in. But you were so warm and inviting! Thank you again, I'll definitely being sending you a PM--I plan on starting the first week of July.

Odette~ Yes you are correct, that was me! Hehe :p Did you have brunette hair + glasses or sandy blonde hair and was sitting with a client for a while? Or neither, those are the only two other girls I remember speaking with. I was pretty drunk too though lol. Thanks for the reassurance as well, and thanks for being so friendly! I thought of you and Bridgette/shanna last night and was just so happy to feel welcomed, and elated at the prospect of a smoother transition than most girls because of both of your kindnesses.

lol i love the way you described your face "cherub-y", cause mine is exactly the same!!

btw one little thing that could make your body look better is your posture. I don't know if you were just standing like that for the pic but I'm in pretty good shape but if I stand with my back straight and not sucking in I don't look hot! Just stick your shoulders back, arch your back, stick your butt out and suck your tummy in a little. Literally posture alone can make a big difference. Well it does for me so I'm sure it's the same for everyone else.

OP - you are correct about not being able to 'spot-treat' sections of the body for fat loss. While some people may lose more fat in certain areas due to genetics, in general, the only way to lose weight on a specific part of your body is to lose weight on the entire body.

I recommend ellipticals for low-impact, 100% cardio workouts. When I wanted to lose my babyfat, I worked out on the elliptical 5 days a week for about an hour each session.

First off, you're beautiful! Like the other girls said though, club workers prey on new dancers and workers to get more money out of them as well as a power trip. If you don't ,ind my asking, do you wear actual dancer wear clothing when you work or do you wear regular cute bra & panty sets? Do you wear actual dancer heels?

I think you have a wonderful body and an amazing look. Different strokes attract different folks.
Try wearing gowns to give off a more classy look or two pieces and actual dancer wear Y back thongs to enhance your body features. Also the higher the heel-the higher to God, and it will accentuate your legs and butt. If gowns make you uncomfortable, or two pieces make you uncomfortable, wear scoop neck short dresses.

You really don't need to lose any weight. However, if you eat foods that are non-bloating on the days that you work and switch your diet to a healthy portioned meal with meals that natural, it will help you feel so much better. When I first started dancing I had the problem many dancers do of getting hungry at work and having sugar cravings. I found the best food to eat at work was Quinoa mixed with natural honey. Its non-bloating and will keep you full if you you eat a single serving your whole shift.

Oooh...that sounds delicious. I've always added quinoa to savory dishes - I love the idea of trying it with honey!

You're very pretty, and could start as you are. A pretty face and a good personality can carry you a long way. That being said, while you are getting started, I would try to work on my weight. You could easily be a 10 if you lost 10lbs. EASILY.

Thanks so much for all the replies guys, they mean a lot to me!

I'm actually already losing more weight!! Over the last few days of working out + being super strict with diet, I got my weight down to 131. I've started training with a friend of mine who has been gymming for 6 years. I went today and cried at the end because it was so exhausting, lol. Also looking into TRX which sounds pretty hardcore so I know I should have no problem shedding the weight over the next couple months...on top of doing 7 straight days of Bodyshred beginning Wednesday.
    (I love working out, wheeeee)

Bloating is my problem yes, I gain a full inch and sometimes more from bloating...in the photos I was intentionally not sucking in or anything and I was probably a little bloated. Thing is I generally eat green smoothies + egg whites + quinoa + nuts + salmon + chicken + oatmeal every day give or take. Would any of those be guilty of bloating me? I would assume not. I've read something on here about anti-bloat pills girls use on their periods--are those safe to take on a regular basis?

I haven't worked at all yet, I was planning on buying real dancer heels from a stripper shop here but just a cute bra + thong set. My butt is low but when I wear thongs it gives the illusion that it is perkier and more rounded. I didn't think about stripper-specific two pieces though, so I'll look into that. I have been interested in gowns too I'm just not sure if girls at Barb's really wear 'em...but that's also a bonus, isn't it, to stand out?

^Yes, standing out is a huge bonus sometimes, espescially on shifts packed with lots of girls! I will wear a gown on stage, for my 3rd song. Mostly so I can just get away with flashing my downstairs instead of letting it all hang out for free lol. I have seen other girls do similar, and occaisionally girls will wear them on the floor, so if you want to wear a gown, go for it, combined with your tattoos I think I long black lace gown with a slit up one side could be very sexy on you, or something similar. But just grab whatever you have lying around for your first day, no sense in making a big deal out of your wardrobe until you know if dancing is for you or not. Then you can go nuts on outfits

You look great! I love the ink! And no, you do not need to lose any weight. Please don't listen to that non sense. You might run into some clubs that are not tattoo fiendly but they are ALOT more common than 10 years ago. Good Luck
