My stilettos are solid black & I wore thin black socks in them to minimise blistering while breaking them in. I typically wear these black legwarmer things that have a strap underneath & I can just slide the heel thru & buckle the shoe's ankle strap around it, then pull the legwarmer up tight for extra stability. I push them down so they bunch up a bit at the bottom of the calf. Wearing the black socks under those, it looks like ankle boots.

Also worked w/ one girl who would wear over-the-knee socks w/ her (black) stilettos, w/ the socks matching that evening's work outfit. She would roll them down for parts of her stage set since the fabric interferes w/ pole work.

Seen a couple girls wear tall socks w/ funky patterns on them, I thought that was a bit tacky tho. Other than that, yeah, you can make socks work.

yes very tacky imo. you can wear stockings though. i also hear the plastic straps get sweatier/more slippery than patent strap ones.
if you put in shoe slips in it cuts down on the stink.
but yeah, i really cannot imagine wearing socks with regular stripper heels

Only wear socks if they and the shoe are black. Like Aniela does, it really only works if the socks and the shoes blend together.

I have never seen anyone pull off clear heels with socks.

Like this. No socks in the pic but I wore them underneath.

My hands and feet sweat a lot! So when I had the clear heels, my feet slipped everywhere by the middle of the shift. The plastic would stretch too much as well. I would have to sit in the locker room until I cooled off which could be 20 mins a few times a night! Cut into my money a lot. I tried buying those Dr Scholl's foot pads & powder for sweaty feet but it didn't help much. Then one day I left my shoes on accident & some nasty unknown girl took them. Who would do that especially with my sweaty feet.. the soles were dirty as hell (YUCK)?! So I went and bought these plain pleasers black heels and the suede on the sole makes my feet not sweat for some reason! No longer do I have a problem slipping and sweating.

I would never wear ankle socks (looks ridiculous IMO), but knee high or over the knee socks/stockings are a great look in the club. I wear them every shift with my open-toed shoes.

OP, if you don't want to wear socks, I've noticed foot powders manage to cut down on perspiration

This. Shoe inserts and baby/talc powder helps as well. I've never seen anyone wear socks with stripper heels (other than for costume nights), but I've seen girl's wear stockings/knee highs/ankle stockings with their shoes.

Personally not a big fan of socks and stripper shoes. The only brand I've tried that actually stopped not just the stink but also the sweat is Dr Scholls Odor-X. I use the spray and spray it directly on my feet, it's not at all messy and keeps u from slipping around in your shoes. At only like $4 it's well worth it!
