I'm going to be investing in my first good sturdy pair of stripper shoes! I just need to know if I absolutely have to work in 7 inches. I can walk steadily in 5.5 inches but my feet start to hurt within minutes.
Also what brand would you recommend?

I wear 6 inch heels. The brand pleasers is really good. I can work 8 hour shifts in them and my feet don't hurt at all!

There is no reason you "have" to wear 7" heels.
I'm 5"6 and usually wear 6" so that I'm not TOO overly tall. Pleasers have always been my favorite brand also.

I like my heels like my dicks....7" is my magic number. Not too big, not too small. Just riiiight like Baby Bear's porridge.

Are you buying them online or in a store? Personally I would buy your first pair of heels in a store. Yes, it's more expensive, but it'll give you a chance on a bunch of different styles (plastic or patent, strap or no strap, thickness of platform/heel, etc), brands, and heights, and you can see what works for you. No one can tell you which brand is the best, obviously, because everyone's feet are different. I know girls that love Pleaser and girls that hate Pleasers. You're going to be wearing these a LOT, and for LONG hours, so you want to make sure you get the right pair. I can tell you from experience that when every step hurts and you can barely stand, it's REALLY hard to hustle.
In regards to height, I'm like Tempest, I always wear 7" heels. But I'm also 5'5 so this basically just puts me on the same level of height as most guys and anyone 5"11 or taller is still above me. If you're 5'8 7" heels might not be the best option. Also, some clubs have rules about tall your heels need to be. For me though the taller shoes are just as comfortable as the shorter ones because they have such a high platform, you're really just walking around in 3" heels.

Please have always held up well and taken care of my feet.
OP - in the future, please try running a couple of searches before starting your own thread. This is an oft-discussed topic that has a number of extremely recent and directly relevant threads.

I'm with Audrey on this... It's a very personal decision and trying on a few pairs in a store is the best way to figure out what you like.

I will never go back on my 8 inch pleasers. I'm 5'2" so work is the only time where I get to have the view from above.
Unsophisticated in the finest sense of the word.
5 inches or more. Pleasers is a brand I like they are comfy.

Don't forget some gown clubs have a max heel height. Like no more than 6-7 inches.
I would suggest starting with a 5 or 6 inch pair when you are new. Getting used to the heels takes time and you want to build up your leg and ankle strength before trying out the big 7"+ heels. They are super easy to roll your ankle in in a club with anything but perfectly even flooring, even for experienced girls. Even tile was a problem when I bought my first pair of tall heels. You get used to them, though. For you I would reccommend checking out Excitables on Preston, they have a huge selection and their prices aren't too bad either, I'm sure you'll find something that you like! Another tip for shopping: if you are in between sizes buy the smaller size, the plastic straps stretch over time and with heat so if you buy shoes that are anything other than snug they will be falling off your feet in a couple weeks! If the band is slightly tight you can warm it up with a hair dryer and stretch it by putting the shoe on when it's still warm and malleable.

If you can get ahold of them Ellies are the bees knees. When I went to Albuquerque I bought every size 5 black Ellie he had at Stomps and Threads.
