Thumbs up Started using an awesome product on my damaged hair!

I always like to share when I find an awesome product, so here goes: My hair was severely damaged by an incompetent hairdresser about 6 months ago and it was devastating (it's platinum blonde). I've recently starting using the Shu Uemura Ultimate Remedy range ( http://www.shuuemuraartofhair-usa.com/ , http://www.shuuemuraartofhair-usa.co...=4&cgid=masque ). It's really done wonders for my hair in the month I have been using it for! My hair isn't back to normal yet , it's going to make time. But this has helped me so I hope it can helps someone else too-Olive x

Thanks, I didn't even know they made hair products and my hair is pretty damaged too. I like Aveda damage remedy - my hairdresser told me you have to use something with protein in it.

Which one?^ Aveda has their own site, & is sold in some salons (the site will tell you) The other one also has it's own site, & is sold in high end dept. stores, I think Nordy's, & maybe Neiman Marcus?
I've heard a lot of good things about Shue Umara (sp.?) they've been mentioned as a top product in Allure mag a few times

Aveda works the best!! Only on some hair types though.. it's made my hair so much healthier but one of my friends tried it and it didn't help (she has fine super curly hair I have straight thicker hair)

I have been recommending it to everyone for months. I started using it this January (only the mask but it's the strongest product in the range, with the highest concentration of ceramides). It is able to repair any hair damage (it's especially suitable for chemically treated hair), no matter how bad it is. And you see results immediately, not after long usage. I apply 1-2 times per week, it's very creamy and smells delicious. Then I leave it in to work for as long as I can, sometimes I even sleep with it, or put a shower cap on. Then I rinse and finish with Kerastase Elixir Ultime oil for color-treated hair. I only order it online, from sites like Feelunique.com. The price is 40 to 50 euros for 200 ml.

There is 1 more, super cheap but effective. It's Italian, the name is Miosotis, in a big red container. Looks like this product_1664.jpg

Yes, I've used & love me some Pureology too..did y'all know it's L'oreal? J/S..Also, L'oreal has a professional line that's only sold in salons..their volumizer was rated as a 'breakthrough' product in Allure mag. It's supposed to have cumulative effects.

Yes, Loreal has 2 professional lines for salons, but you can buy them online as well, they are L'oreal Professional and Kerastase. Kerastase is superior and more expensive, obviously. They have tons of product ranges targeting specific hair conditions: Masquintense, Ciment Thermique, Elixir Ultime, Densifique, Architecte, etc. Recently I tried the Fusio Dose concentrates by Kerastase and I like them (they are 4 different types), but they are expensive to use every time, maybe 2-3 times a month is good, for a change. But still, for a reliable, excellent quality product which I personally find superior to Kerastase, I would recommend Shu Uemura Ultimate Remedy any day. It's hard to explain, a lot of masks have tons of useful oils, proteins and great ingredients, but I always had the feeling that their molecules are unable to actually enter inside the hair and restore it from within. With this mask, I feel it actually penetrates on a much deeper level and the level of hair repair and nourishment is much higher than anything I used before. Most if not all other masks I used, worked on the surface. This one works within.

Yea. I was so mad @ myself for not buying the Shu Uemura last time I was downtown..going there & getting it this coming week. My hair's super dry, I just had highlights done over a goof up touch up job, so it's been thru hell too.

I use a keratin treatment from Paul Mitchell. It's got three products to the set, but I only use the first two. It's called Awaphui--wild ginger. Love that stuff. I also use pure argan oil on my hair when it's damp and argan oil shampoo/conditioner. My hair stylist is thrilled with the condition of my hair. It was soooo fried after three rounds of bleaching to get the red out.

Yeah, thanks Issabelle..I've read about the Paul Mitchell Awaphui..you have to buy those particular products in the salon right? & I think the third one has to be purchased/applied in salon only.

^I hope it helps your hair (my hair is literally fried/breaking, the Ultimate Remedy has helped mine a lot).

Thanks, doll! Mine's right up there too..had my hair literally dyed black, then had to have it lifted, THEN it grows out super fast so I had to retouch my roots! That damn dye's very harsh, & my hair's dry anyway!

Ok! I used it & love it! expensive, but worth it, & also I didn't need to use a lot, (a little goes a long way) even w/my crappy longer hair. With the other conditioners I've used, I've still had to use leave in products after to comb thru, not this one.
If you sign up on their site, they give you some coupons, deals, etc. I went in a store downtown, cause I wanted it right away.

A cheaper mask with similar ingredients and results, which I bought lately, is L'oreal Professionel Absolut Repair Lipidium. The same range also offers a 2-component serum which works great before blow drying and fights against split ends and heat damage.
