Default My Life As A Strip Club Manager

Ever stopped and asked yourself this question? "What the fuck is wrong with me?" I find myself asking that same question usually on a daily basis lol I guess it's the challenge that comes with running a strip club that I still find myself ready to take full on. I've encountered, witnessed, and dealt with things that most people couldn't even imagine possibly happening. Then again, there's that excitement that strings me along for the ride. I've always been a fan of roller coasters after all

When I first started I had NO idea how a strip club was managed or run. I was also nervous as shit that I would easily fuck up or that the Dancers, Bouncers, Djs, Waitresses, Bartenders, and of course other Managers would hate me for whatever reason jsut because I was new and didn't know shit about running a strip club. So you're probably wondering how the fuck did my ass end up getting this kind of position? Well...

It kinda just fell into my lap I didn't know anybody that worked there or even thought I'd be a manager! I actually went in to try to help promote the club in any way I could. My resume and management experience is what got the owner saying "fuck all that, bring me a proposal on what you'll do for the club and we'll talk." Sooo I did, and just like that I'm hired!? I still remember celebrating that night...well actually I forgot most of it lol. My first day on the job was definitely intense as fuck. I had all eyes on me and I found out that same day that almost every bouncer wanted my position. Some with 5 even 10+ years experience! And here I come out of nowhere taking that shit....I could see why I wasn't very liked at the time. To earn the respect from the dancers and bouncers was one of the biggest challenges I faced. I knew it wouldn't happen overnight, so I had to really begin to think on my toes on how to approach every situation I was dealing with. We all know how hard it is to deal with a woman (sorry ladies) lol but dealing with a lot of different women with a lot of different feelings, emotions, issues, and personalities is a completely different ball game! The girls are and ALWAYS will be the most important thing about the club for obvious reasons.

Imagine walking into an ice cream shop with NO ice cream....a strip club with no girls is nothing but a lonely bar. The girls are what makes or breaks a club (insert fat ass period here) In the beginning it was hard for me to understand why any sane person would give out hundreds and hundreds of dollars to a stripper and not get anything but some tits in your face and a hard case of blue balls...but then I realized that it's the actual "fantasy" that they buy into! Sure some girls actually cross the line into giving it up for money outside the club, however the real hustlers that I know that make insane amounts of cash do it without having to resort to sex. Since this world was new to me I knew I had to quickly learn all the industry tricks and secrets as much as I could. Not just for myself, but to help the girls as well. One of the most important things I've learned and I hope EVERY manager understands is this...of course I have to exaggrate what I'm about to say so here we go:

    NEVER FUCK THE DANCERS!!!!!!!!!

Immediate career ender no matter how tempted you get. To this day I've been able to keep my dick in my pants and I advise all new or current managers to do the same. Yes I know it's tempting....I basically get asked out every day or grabbed innapropriately or invited to threesomes or almost being raped or... well you get the idea lol It also doesn't help that I'm the only single manager at the club which makes the attention nice, but not allowing it to interfere or distract from the job at hand is where thinking with your ACTUAL head and not the one down there comes in. I've had this one girl tell me once that if I don't take her to the movies or have sex with her then she will fuck with me and blackmail me for something I didn't do.....ya talk about peer pressure lol Oh and yes she was serious....wasn't a joke. Anyway, let's fast forward to now where I've already had my fair share of dancer drama, customer/employee issues, fights, legal matters, gunshots, cars being set on fire and/or smashed, drug related issues (what a shocker right?), sexual acts, underage drinking, drunk asses, and the list goes on and on...

Every situation is different. Every day is different. Every one is different. I never know what will happen next or who will walk into those doors. The girls love me and my employees do as well but that's not to say I haven't had any problems myself. It's important to find the right balance where you don't allow them (whether it be the girls or staff) to walk all over you but at the same time you can't treat them however you want just because you are in that position. Being a dick or asshole won't get you far and in fact can easily back fire on you causing you to lose respect from the girls. They won't want to work your shifts or even at the club. There was time when I was talking to the DJ about a song I wanted to hear (I was off shift) and one of the dancers came up to me drunk as fuck and told me..."Move the fuck out of the way." I don't let my own mother talk to me like that so of course I won't let some drunk girl talk to me that way, so my response was "No, if you need to talk to the DJ you can go around me." Of course she didn't take that well and said "I'll punch you in the face! you're nobody and there will be another manager after you, but I'll still be here!" So I said "Go ahead and do it." She then hit me in the face....repeatedly lol I took it like Oscar De La Hoya and just started laughing. We had her escorted out and to this day she's been 86. Which for those that don't know what that means...it means she can no longer step foot in that club unless I say she can. A small example of how you should not reward bad behavior but instead punish those that cause it. Doing so will then have a chain reaction to show others how doing something you shouldn't do (like punch a manager in the face) will result in consequences. Same applies to drug users, prostitutes, and problem causing girls that we as managers have to deal with on a consistent basis. Of course not all girls behave or act this way, just like not all managers are fucking the girls. There are plenty of great well educated drug/disease free girls in this industry and most of them don't get the respect that they deserve. Just because a girl takes off her clothes for money DOES NOT mean she's any less of a person or that she should be looked down upon. Absolutley not, these girls really do work hard for their money and I personally know exactly what they go thru since I talk to them EVERY single day. What can I say being a good listener comes in handy

I'm still managing my club and learning something new every day, I'll try to post something new often enough (if not every day) about life as a strip club manager....these may include whatever issues, drama, concerns, questions, opinions, etc. that I'll be encountering and making decisions on. This is my way of keeping a journal lol Feel free to ask or share anything with me, I might not be able to answer everything or right away but I'll definitely try!

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and I wish everyone the best in whatever they do! Whether you dance, bounce, DJ, waitress, manage, or sell locos tacos at taco bell...sorry I'm fucking hungry and I don't know why that popped in my head haha

    Until next time!

Looking forward to this. I keep forgetting how there's other people at these so called strip clubs other than the strippers.

Interesting post, keep it up! What made you decide to start writing now? Just time to unburden yourself from the stories (I get story backpressure too, and end up with bluestory if I don't have anyone to tell)

Around 17 years ago, an acquaintance of mine became half-owner and manager of a strip club. At the time, I knew everything, so at some point on got on him: "why are you guys such dummies? I mean, why do you let X happen? No good manager in any other business would let that happen". He looked at me with some pity in his eyes, "what do you think I should do about X? I could make rules about it, but then the girls would do Y to get around it, and then they'd still be doing X. Then I could make even more rules, but then the girls would do Z. And along the way, the club would become a less attractive place to work for the hottest girls, and the ones who stayed would be pissed about getting fined all the time. The girls have their reasons for doing X, even though you haven't figured out why. So, continue letting the girls do X, and have the hot, friendly girls you see here, or do like the deja vu clubs down the street, and have fewer less-attractive girls who are unhappy because they're always getting fined because there are a zillion rules?" Ah, maybe I don't quite understand the business After that, I took a more student-like approach, but still enjoyed gaming out with him, "why do you do this?" "what would you do in this situation?" and the answers were always fascinating. All of which is meant to tell you that an AMA might be interesting!

We had a beach themed night at the club which helped draw in a pretty decent crowd. I had to let a dancer go tonight as well as hired a new one. Now, I am VERY selective and picky when it comes to hiring dancers, so if I actually do decide it's because I was impressed and have a good feel for the girl. Some of the other managers tend to hire whatever walks in the door. I choose quality over quantity any day. The new dancer I hired today definitely put a show up on stage! As for the dancer I had to let go...well we got informed that someone was smoking in the girls restroom, sure enough I radio in one of my bouncers to go in with me and I searched her purse that she had. Nothing was found UNTIL I looked under her makeup kit. Guess what I find?.....black tar heroin. Very addictive shit. The club (and myself) have ZERO tolerance for Drama, Drugs, Dick (AKA sexual acts) and the dancers are constantly reminded of this. Unfortunately some will still try to get away with it and the end result is always the same. Termination. I had to be the bad guy and fire her but she knew she couldn't bring that shit in the club. She cried and cried but I couldn't allow her to work at the club anymore. That will only have a bad chain reaction with the other girls. I also forgot to mention that she's 8 months pregnant....and no we don't have a C-Section night so don't ask lol Anyway, tomorrow is another day so we'll see what the club brings

If it was a joint rather than heroin, would you still have fired her?

Anyone who has worked in strip club(s) longer than a couple months has seen more noteworthy things happen. And you're saying you've seen/dealt with/whatever things most people cannot imagine? You grossly underestimate us.
Look, I'm not trying to be mean, but you still seem fairly new. Perhaps that dancer needed you to get out of her way so she could do her job, you know, pick music for her stage set? And you were off the clock talking up the dj, I dunno, just doesnt really seem like your place to take some kind of authoritative stance against someone who probably had a better reason to be talking to the DJ than you did, and all while being off the clock.
The other thing I'd like to bring up is the fact that you seem to be so discerning about hiring girls. It's not about impressing the manager, it's about demonstrating ability to do the job and being presentable. Especially when you're following that little tidbit with an anecdote about a pregnant, heroin-addicted dancer? So which is it? You're picky, or you allow third-trimester junkies in your club? And "c-section night"?? Are you kidding me? You do know that many, many MANY dancers are mothers, right? That comment wasn't even clever, how do you even know how she's planning to deliver her baby? Were you hoping it would just dissolve back into her abdomen? FFS you've obviously been letting her work there all the way up until last night, suddenly upon firing her you're going to pick on her for two things that were most likely pretty obvious while you still allowed her to work?

You may think you're all "in" with what the girls go through, but I guarantee you're not. Until you've had a stranger's semen (unwelcome) smeared on your thigh without even receiving a tip on top of the 3/$20 dance special price, you can take your "I've seen it all" attitude and shove it.

This is crass, tasteless and completely inappropriate on a dancer support site. If you want to be taken seriously here it might be a good idea to tone down the smart-ass stuff since you are talking primarily to the ladies who take their clothes off every night so that customers will come in to the club and spend money and help generate your salary.

Save the "here I come to save the day" crap for some customer site. The girls here figured out a long time ago that shift managers are more expendable than dancers are.

I was thinking the same thing ... even worse she is 8 months preggo and using drugs.

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1272838/
"Heroin addiction during pregnancy is associated with several significant medical and obstetrical complications and may result in both acute and chronic abnormalities in neonates. Malnutrition, venereal disease, hepatitis, pulmonary complications, preeclampsia and third-trimester bleeding are the most common maternal complications, while fetal death, intrauterine growth retardation, prematurity and withdrawal symptoms affect the fetus and neonate. There is controversy about treating addicts with methadone during pregnancy. The findings of studies in animals suggest that there may be a long-lasting drug-induced syndrome, characterized by growth retardation, delayed motor development and behavior abnormalities in offspring of heroin-addicted or methadone-treated mothers."

I definitely don't have an "I know it all attitude", I learn something new everyday. No one has to agree with what I say or do. Dancers are obviously HIRED by other managers other than myself, but the same rules apply to ALL the dancers. There are 3 other managers and the GM is the owner himself. Some guys like preggo, I don't think there's anything wrong with allowing a pregnant girl to work as long as she doesn't violate the rules of the club. Some girls don;t have any support, homeless, and have many financial issues. Dancing is sometimes the only way they can make money for themselves. If you're here to critize or talk shit about my posts don't bother, there's a reason behind everything that we as managers have to decide on. The girls and the staff at my club love the way I manage it and we all make money so that's all that matters to me.

We had a few drama incidents tonight, one involving the baby daddy for one of the dancers. Fortunately we were able to prevent fights tonight which took some "being on my toes". Lot of running around but nothing too exciting to post about. I work again tomorrow night and Saturday's are usually our busier nights. Usually we have 2 or more managers on shift, which makes things easier I'll talk to you guys tomorrow, night!

That's a good question! A joint isnt that big of a deal for us (especially me) if a dancer is caught with a joint. She will more than likely be given a slap on the wrist. HOWEVER, we still don't tolerate ANY drugs being brought into the club. I'd also be on my bouncer's ass for not finding it. So I wouldn't necessarily fire her for having it (maybe she forgot she had it in her bag or some shit) but if it happens again, most likely I would have to. Or depending on the situation and the dancer's history, it's also possible to have her put on suspension. It really is a case-by-case basis.

How exactly do you expect your bouncers to find joints in the girl's possession? Do you search their bags and purses when they come in to work?

Ah, ok. The reason I ask is, pot smoking is officially against the rules at all the SCs I go to, but nevertheless, it's not uncommon to walk by the women's bathroom or any other small room, and walk through a small fog on pot smoke. One club has a VIP room that's closed during dayshift, so customers can't use it ... during dayshift, there are occasional phantom pot smoke fogs also. In other words, it's pretty endemic, and if the bouncers bother at all with it, it's a slap on the wrist at most. Then again, this is SF, and we're pot friendly, mostly. I imagine heroin being a firing offense here, though.

Yup... It's mandatory that the girls get searched when they come in to work. Of course no matter how hard we try to keep the drugs out both customers and dancers still find ways to bring them in. The girls lockers are also subject to search at any time and the managers have the master key If we ever feel the need to do so. House policies are different for every club but when it comes to the drug problem I have to admit we have been real good at keeping It on lock down. We've gotten rid of most of the girls with drug issues. Well it's about that time to head into the club... Talk to you guys soon! Enjoy your weekend!

Tonight was a slower night even for a Saturday. I was kinda stressin it because we weren't hitting our usual sales until around 11 or so. One group came in (2 guys 1 girl) and tried to pass off a fake hundred dollar bill! One of the other managers was dealing with that issue while I was dealing with another issue of my own involving a girl that we had to let go because she started drama last night with one of our veteran dancers. We have been EXCELLENT at keeping dancer drama low. For the last six months we haven't really had any major issues and that is something I'm proud of as a club. I'm off for the next two days and this bottle of whisky ain't gonna drink itself lol so with that said, I'll talk to you all soon!

My manager fucked a dancer. She got pregnant and he still has his job.

I can't POSSIBLY be the only one that smells troll here?

I'm sorry if you're real Triple_Threat. But really, these posts come of as contrived and attention-seeking. I know and have known a LOT of SC managers. These posts sound like regurgitated stories from other parts of this site and others. I dunno.
