    Default Waitressing in strip clubs?

    Hi
I live outside the usa. I will be aloud to work in USA on my student visa. How much is the wage for waitressing in a stripclub in NY ?
Are you paid an hourly wage plus tips ? Or only tips? I have no idea what n average age would be in a NY city club and innercity burroughs of NY.

For the past several years, the Patriot Act has limited visitors holding student visas to ONLY working for / at the US educational institution they are actually attending. This means working at a college bookstore, college dining hall, etc.

From the viewpoint of a US clubowner, foreign nationals holding student visas are now no different from foreign nationals who don't have a visa at all. As such, it's extremely unlikely that any 'corporate' NYC strip club will take the chance of attracting ICE attention by hiring a foreign dancer without a 'green card'.

Undoubtedly there are some clubs which are willing to hire a dancer without a 'green card' if she is hot enough. However, clubowners willing to risk violating the Patriot Act are just as likely to risk violating other laws i.e. prostitution, drugs, etc.

I would also add that, if ICE were to be tipped off about a foreign dancer working without a 'green card' ( by 'jealous' dancers legally working in the same club, for example ), that foreign dancer can be busted and deported very quickly ... a well as barred from re-entering the USA for something like 10 years. I have heard of this actually happening on a couple of occasions ... with the busted foreign dancer not even being allowed to return to her place of residence to collect her personal belongings before being placed in detention, then put on an airplane back to her home country within a matter of a couple of days.

For better or worse, ICE policy treats illegal foreign workers differently depending on their country of origin and the type of work they are doing i.e. illegal Mexican sub-minimum wage workers are more or less ignored, whereas illegal European workers earning big money in a strip club may draw special attention. NYC is particularly sensitive to this, since several high profile busts involving bogus 'agents' illegally importing and pimping out eastern European girls to NYC area strip clubs have made the local news front page over the past few years.

Again, to be clear, the real world probability of a European dancer working in a strip club illegally is pretty low. However, if busted, that dancer's US college education could be brought to an abrupt end via deportation ( with no tuition refund to boot ) !!!

You'll probably get more responses in "Club Chat." You aren't asking about waiting tables in clubs in general, you want to know where in NYC you can work off the books, right?
