    Default Long or short hair?

I had short hair for a long time before I started dancing and I've been growing it out since last year. Right now it's a bit past shoulder length, longer when I occasionally straighten it. Most days at work, I just let it do its own thing, it's naturally straight with just a little bit of wave to it, and I don't feel like it requires a lot of effort when it's long. But I'm getting bored with it. If I let it grow out a bit longer I was thinking of starting to curl it again, which I thought looked really good when I used to do it, but since my hair is naturally straight it takes a long time and doesn't hold up very well, even with a lot of hair spray. I don't want to have to be constantly fixing it throughout my shift. I was also thinking of cutting it again, probably not super short but maybe chin length, and maybe a bit shorter in the back so I can kind of spike it a little bit/give it a messy look (that was my first short hairstyle and I really liked it), but I want to keep some hair around my face, because I have a very round face and I feel like very short hair makes me look too much like jailbait. No one else I work with has short hair, which makes me kind of nervous to do it but I also feel like maybe having a different look would give me an advantage, especially since I also have piercings and tattoos and wear a lot of black at work.

What do you guys think? Any other dancers with short hair, and how does it work for you? And for those with long hair, if it's straight like mine do you feel like it makes any difference to curl it or style it in some way or do customers like it as is? I'm just getting very bored with my hair and want more of a style but I'm not sure which way to go.

Long hair is always better. You'll fuck yourself with short hair. The only reason I got away with it is because I have huge boobs and nobody looks above my neck.

i've seen girls who are perfect 10s do well with short hair, but i think they do well in spite of their hair because they're so smoking hot anyways. for the rest of us mortals, long hair is always better in the strip club. dye your hair a different color, get extensions ( the longer the better!), curl it, add some side bangs..but don't cut it short! an overwhelming majority of men love long hair on women. i've seen a lot of girl's money flop when they decided to do the trendy pixie cut. that's my advice.
as for curling or straightening..if its naturally straight, don't fight it. it maximizes length, looks glossy, and "touchable". you don't want to be wasting time in the DR touching up your hair.

Get big fake tits and you can shave your head like Sigourney Weaver and nobody will give a rat's ass what's above your neck.

Honestly, long hair fits the stripper stereotype better and men seem to prefer it in general. But, that doesn't mean you can't rock it. You could always cut your hair chin length like you wanted and wear clip in extensions to work (if you want to be more comfortable in every day life and are worried about it affecting your earnings).

I make easier money with the wigs. Usually the pensioners aren't scared shitless of me when I look more like a Barbie.

For all the girls who "do well" with short hair, they could probably be doing even better with long hair.

Before you think I'm saying long hair is better than short hair... let me tell you... that's not what i'm saying.
I love having short hair, i love the way it feels and looks (on me and on others), and in general i like having shorter hair more than i like having long hair.

HOWEVER. If you're trying to maximize profits in a stripclub environment, you will most likely make more money with your hair longer, rather than short.

I've danced for years and experimented. I've worn wigs, short and long. I've worn my natural hair, short and long. Tried this in different clubs and cities.
(And by "short" i mean anywhere from just below the ear, to shoulder-length.)
For whatever amount I was averaging with my hair long, I would make about half that amount if I decided to try walking in with shorter hair.

Yes, there would always be customers who liked me and complimented my looks and I would always "do well," never walked out of the club with less than $250... but if wore longer hair? Even if it was a fake-looking wig? Automatically making a higher average again.

It was possible- i did cross the 1K line ONCE in the 2 years when i was working with shorter hair... but I later crossed the 1K line THRICE in one month when i started working with a long-haired wig. If only I knew earlier...
Right now I'm working on growing my natural hair out, and then i wanna get extensions. Not as personal style preference, but because i want to bank during nightshift. If I quit stripping now, completely, then I'd also get a mohawk and tattoo the sides of my head...

But maybe maximizing profits is not your priority.
Or maybe your particular personality/ look could totally rock short hair better than long.
It is worth it to try new things and experiment, so, I would even say... if you feel like it, go for it! Let us know how it worked for you.

Cutting your hair short will also kill your profits in half on cam too, in my experience.

Tempest beat me to the suggestion of wigs.

I would say try cutting your hair whatever 'shorter cut' you fancy & then get a few longer-lengthed wigs in different colours & styles. Then you will have options. I feel you on the frustration & boredom of hair that refuses to style the way you tell it to, mine is fine & straight, couldn't pay it to hold a curl. Don't waste time/$$ on styling when it will just fall flat anyway, & possibly wreck your hair in the process.

Thanks everyone. I really like the wig idea, i hadn't thought of that at all. For those that have used them, do you have any recommendations for where to buy or any brands/types you prefer?

I like the Equal line. My favorite style is the Universe Girl. Everyone always harps on the virtues of human hair, but if you take care of synthetic wigs they can look just as good.

It's going to vary a lot from girl to girl and club to club. I've worked with short and long hair, and noticed no difference in my average earnings at all. We're talking spiky wedge short, with anime-style cheek length bangs and breast length side tendrils, versus waist length when I straightened it long. However, almost all the girls I've worked with HAVE noticed a difference, and I was making my money from different customers with each look.
Personally, I'm of the opinion that you should do what works for you because there's a certain element of sexiness that is purely determined by how confident you are in rocking a look. But I would definitely take a page from the book already open here: get yourself some wigs if you're not 100% dedicated to the look or work at a club where most customers like the stereotypical look.
Exotic dancing is like any other job.
If you work in an office, you wear dress shoes and a suit.
If you work in a restaraunt, you wear skid resistant shoes and a uniform.
If you work in a strip club, you wear 7" stilettos and lycra g-strings.

I feel like the only way you can successfully pull off shorter hair is if you are trying to channel a specific look. For example, Mia from Pulp Piction, Twiggy, etc. Like the whole look has to work and you have to be able to sell that look. When men think "stripper" they automatically think long blonde hair and busty. Or maybe the runway model look. So those are what sell the best IMO in a strip club.

If you want to cut your hair short again, try a style with some longer pieces in the front that you can blend in to a wig or fall. Longer hair is especially important with tattoos and piercings. It really helps to soften your look.

I cam, so I can't tell you much about club life. However, I am a girl who only recently got 'bra-length' long hair in my life after two years of growing out nearly a decade of different short cuts. Mine is also fine, thin, and super duper straight with zero ability to hold a curl even under hairspray. BUT! There is a trick to curling this sort of hair into those 'beachy waves' that VS models have with only about ~5-10 minutes of effort. Hot rollers are magical inventions, I tell you! You can get a cheap set online or at stores for around $30 that work well (I use a set of Revlon's that are large/extra large rollers, 20 pack). The large/extra large rollers make the curls big and bouncy, which works better on our hair type over the course of a night.

Just part your hair as you want to wear it, then part from the crown of your hair down to the nape of your neck down the back (centered). With my set, I need 5-6 large rollers per side. I start at the back of one side, grab a section, and roll it vertically so that the hair/curl rolls away from my face. Repeat until you've finished all your hair. Let set 5-10 minutes. Shake out. Lightly (and I do mean lightly) hair spray. The natural fall of the hair is beautiful over the course of 8 hours and looks great tousled. Somehow, hot rollers hold all day for me with no work where a curling iron/spray/million hours of effort dies in 20 minutes!

Hmm I used to have hair to my bra strap. Then I chopped it off and loved it and my mom and every female friend in my life loved it. I still love this cut. It's very Marilyn Monroe.

    But....

my dad, guy friends, and boyfriend's reaction told me enough to know that maybe I shouldn't have chopped off my hair when my job depends on appealing to men for a living. So in the extensions went down to my butt. I didn't think it was gonna be as big a difference as it was but my money has never been better. Even better than when it was bra length. I know there will always be exceptions to the rule and a good hustler will still make money even bald. There's a girl at my club with chin length hair that does well. But she also has a huge rack so that might work in her favor lol

It was a nightmare trying to find good quality platinum blonde extensions and the girl putting in my extensions almost convinced me to dye my hair back to black because it would've been easier to buy good quality dark hair extensions. But I kept at it and I'm so happy I did. I have the rest of my life to have dark, short chic hair. If I'm gonna be a fake, platinum blonde Barbie I might as well do it when I'm stripping and maximize my profit.
