    Default Does anyone else sleep WAY TOO MUCH?

    You guys I sleep like 10-12 hours every night and its inevitable anymore. I need to try to sleep for only 8 hours but I have so much time to kill before work versus the real world where everything is backwards and you don't have free time until AFTER work..

    Am I the only one in a stripper induced coma? lol HELP ME

    I agree, I always feel so well rested, and I rarely have to remember what it's like to be truly exhausted.. Which is nice, But I feel like I live my entire life in the night and I kind of miss being able to enjoy the sun

    A simple answer is probably to just set an alarm for earlier, but I more importantly wanted to verify that I am not alone in this.

    I literally need to sleep at least 7.5 or I'm exhausted. My body likes 8-9 typically, sometimes as much as 12. Or I will get sick, like a cold or strong headaches.

    I normally do 8 or 9, but sleep more on my period, I never sleep before 3am tho.

    Yes. Always. My body naturally wants to sleep from around 9pm to 7am. Dancing means I sleep from 3am-9am or 10am if I'm lucky.

    If I sleep less than 7 hours for more than two days, I start hallucinating, stuttering, and compulsively overeating. Shit's serious, yo!

    This thread is making me jealous. I only wish I could sleep more than 8 hours but realistically I only get 6 maybe 7 hours of sleep. I constantly wake up in the middle of the night and if I get woke up in the morning after daylight hits, no matter what time it is then I am awake for the day. It is very rare for me to be able to even nap during the day.

    I tend to stay in bed for 10-12 hours, but probably actually only sleep the recommended 8. I hate how badly and inefficiently I sleep. Then I tell myself that when I wake up and have trouble getting to sleep, I'll just get up and be productive until I'm tired enough to go back to sleep, but I'm always too tired to actually do anything so I just toss and turn for 2-3 hours... It sucks. I'm so jealous of people who can live off very little sleep.

    I feel like shit if I get more than 6. When I don't travel I fall asleep around 1-2am and I'm up at 7am. When I work I usually don't go to sleep until 5am-8am and I'm up a few hours later and have to take sleeping meds and try to go back til 3pm. So I get crappy broken sleep of like 2-3 hours then sleep a couple more. The only time I sleep a lot is after a trip ( since I only work like 8 shifts every 6-7 weeks. Then I sleep 12 hours. I've been back from a trip no and hate that I'm waking at 2pm.

    Actually I miscalculated. I've been going to bed around 4-5am and sleeping until 2pm . So about 9 hours but I've been laying back down at 5pm til around 8pm a few times.

    i've always slept 10 hours. its what my body needs to feel rested, but lately its been even more. stripping is draining in every way. physically, mentally, and emotionally. you need a lot of sleep to re-boot..don't feel bad about it.

    I hate sunlight. If I go out during the daylight always slap on sunblock, hat and sunglasses. Sunlight ages you.

    When my husband is in town, I work until 4-6am and sleep until 11:30am on weekdays and 1pm on weekends.
    When he's travelling.. ALL OF THE SLEEP. Yesterday I slept until 4pm, went to work at 10, worked until 2:30am, came home and went back to bed until 11:30am.

    And it was win.

    "Stripper coma" made me lol. When I danced full time I would sleep and sleep, I think I was mentally and physically drained (if you drink at work, it doesn't help as well ). Set an alarm so that you have your 8 hours and force yourself to get up (unless you are really exhausted or ill)-your body will get used to it. It could also be an underlying symptom of something else going on with your health, so if you are worried about it then it might pay to get a check up.

    my body prefers 9 hours, 12 when PMSing/ on my period. I wish I could get by on 6 or less, I want to be more productive with my days. Especially during sunlight hours.

    If I was left to my own devices I woud happily sleep for 12 hrs per day. I have to set an alarm if I want to get up and do anything with my day, and always feel tired and grumpy when I do that. I cannot fathom how my husband gets by on 6 or 7 hours a night.

    I have always needed a lot of sleep, but uni made me able to function without for a couple days at a time. Not well, but I can deal for a short period of time. I am SO GRATEFUL to have no all nighters in my immediate future. It's true that lack of sleep ages you hard. I think it's worse than sunlight my last year of uni was HELL and I have the wrinkles starting to show for it. It always took my body like a month of sleeping 10 hours a night to "reboot" at the beginning of the summer while I was in uni from all the exhaustion during the schoolyear. So is it possible that you may be dealing with some sort of sleep debt from before?

    My body likes 8-10 hours but 9 is my happy place typically. If I sleep more than 10 I'm tired from sleeping TOO much so I always set an alarm even on days when I don't have to get up. If it's an "off" day I'll often hang out in bed for a good hour or so reading and checking my email and SW and such before I actually get up and start my day.

    I'm so jealous of everyone who is in tune with their body enough to know what you need & are able to get it. I've had such a horrible sleep disorder for so long I have no idea what healthy sleep is like at all anymore.

    It could be because your natural circadian rhythms are disrupted by the night schedule, making your ability to get good quality sleep more difficult, hence the long sleeping hours.

    Yup, I usually sleep about 9 hours then lay around for another two after I wake up and eat. This is a very physically demanding job. A girl needs her beauty rest!
