Default Should I tell people about my history?

    Hi everyone!

I quit the industry for about 4 years and I'm ready to start stripping again. I'm currently filling out some online applications for clubs and they state the question: "Previous dance experience?" How should I answer this question? Here's my dilemma, I've done some things I'm not proud of, such as porn and escorting. I don't care if the club knows I use to strip, but I don't feel comfortable letting out that I use to do porn and escorting. I've done a few things I regret and I don't want to be labeled as an "extras girl" because of that. I want to be a clean dancer and don't want my reputation ruined. Basically I'm afraid that if I let it be known that I use to strip, then other questions may arise from that. Would it be better to say that I've never stripped and be thought of as a total newbie? It has been 4 years after all, so I kinda am a newb.

Also, what should I say if I'm confronted about my past? I've had people recognize me before, but luckily I've been able to avoid those people. How would I answer the question "Hey I recognize you from so and so, are you blah blah?"

Thanks in advance for all of your input! Please let me know if I'm over thinking things and it's just all in my head.

I think you're overthinking, and you don't need to apply online.

I don't think most will care that you've worked in other areas of the adult industry. Plenty of girls seem able to walk in multiple areas of the industry yet keep them separate. I think you are overthinking.

Tell them you've danced before and leave it at that. Managers don't care if you used to do porn, they just want you to be hot and pay your housefee. That's it.

Lol definitely over thinking! Managers don't care that much. If you said u have previous dancing experience they would probably just leave it at that.

Thank you everyone! I guess I'm just nervous about returning. I filled out the online application to 3 upscale clubs in my city.

I just want to reiterate what CK said about not needing to apply online. It's literally a waste of your time since you will have to go into the club anyway to actually get hired, so you may as well just do it. In many cases, you may not even get a response back since no one actually checks the applications out. Just call up the clubs and ask about their audition process.

I would recommend not applying online-I have done this previously (before going to work interstate). Either call, or just visit a club that you are interested in working at and if you like the look of the club etc, ask a staff member for the a manger and say that you are looking for a dancing job . If they ask, tell them that you have danced before (or if they ask you to fill out a form, state your experience there). Btw there's no point stating other adult work on a dancing application-it's irrelevant.

LOL There are applications to work in a strip club? Your past doesn't make a damn if you are making money in a strip club. You think they care. You think they give a fuck about any of the dancers who work there?

You go into a club in your hottest outfit. They will ask if you danced before & that is it. They don't grill you about experience. Either you have the look they want or don't. Even if you never danced before wouldn't matter.

Never ONCE heard of a club NOT hiring a girl based upon her dancing experience. How are they to know you used to escort unless they used to be your customer? Unless you work in Las Vegas, they aren't going to do a back ground check. Hell, they don't want to know all about you, the less the better.

Those online applications are a joke. Strip club applications are a joke in general. They never ever go through all the applications & then call the girls up & see if they still want to strip.

    Good luck,
    Sam

when you audition, they will know right off the bat whether or not you've stripped before, so lying won't really make a difference. not that it would make a difference to them anyways.
umm and applying online? wtf? i have never heard of that. go in.
there are plenty of dancers that have escorted and done porn ( i work with one who has done porn, and i've seen her videos myself. they are quite impressive, and nobody has bullied her about it either), but its really nobody's business in the first place.

The only reason they would care if you escorted before would be if you got a pop for prostitution, otherwise it's meaningless. You would be surprised how many girls work in multiple parts of the business... now that I've been escorting I have heard from SO many clients that they've seen girls as escorts working in clubs where I didn't think ANYONE was doing OTC... it's so many clients that I have to believe that there's truth in it. Girls are just discreet about it.

Honestly they don't even care if you have dancing experience if you're hot and make them money. That's it.

I just wanted to say that all 3 clubs replied to my online application. Maybe it's just different in my area. I have an audition Tues, Wed, and Thurs. Wish me luck!

^Yes, but you're still going through the exact same process you would've had you just called or shown up. Good luck with all your auditions, and hopefully you find a great fit and lucrative club this week!

Yes you are right, I probably would have gotten the same information if I had called/showed up. But anyways, I got hired at my first club of choice! I still might audition at the other clubs though.

Congrats! If possible, it's totally worthwhile to audition and try out other clubs to see which one works best for you. Good luck!
