Default Small Clubs, Too many regulars

Just wondering what others think of small clubs...( and how to maximize the fun! )

The clubs in my area, FL-Space Coast, all seem to be on the small side.
Just started going to clubs again and have only been to 3 of them, mostly during late afternoon.

It seems that most of the talent on day shift spend their time with regulars.
This makes it difficult to get dances from them....definitely do not want to interrupt a regular and create club drama.
I tried tipping when they were on stage (I was only customer tipping!) and they always go back to their regulars.

I did get several excellent and high contact dances from a hot little dancer in one club, so one visit was not a total loss, lol!
    ...going back there soon.

Also thinking that I will try the night shift at one of the clubs, when my schedule permits. My guess is there would be more girls available and more hustling going on.

I would think they could separate from their regular customer long enough to do a few dances...maybe dancers in small clubs just have a different attitude about the job?

I use this following rule when going to strip clubs... If the sun is up stay out, unless it is rising after an all night party.
-It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others!
-It's always darkest just before it goes pitch black!
-The secret to success is knowing who to blame for your failures!

Regular customers tend to mean regular (read: reliable) income. If a dancer does not know you, she is not going to be inclined to risk her business relationship w/ a high-spending customer for what may only be $20-$80 from you.

If you saw a dancer there that you liked, maybe try coming back to see her earlier in the shift, b4 the arrival of her regular(s). Otherwise try to catch her towards the end of the shift when the regulars have left.

That sucks. I think some strippers have a "bird in the hand is worth more than ???" mentality. (I'll only speak for myself here, but maybe other ladies agree)... At times I feel obligated to spend time with a regular because he came in, maybe only for me, and I'd feel bad if I abandon them because their presence/money has gotten me through slow shifts in the past... and some of them get so butt-hurt if you go off to dance for someone else. Ugh... I really have to get over the guilt and do my job right. Thanks for this post. Maybe I'll be more forthright.

But as for you, Cowboy12, consider being more upfront and TELL them you want a dance, either when they are onstage and you tip them or just as they are getting offstage. They can't go back if you snag them first. Just be direct and say this: "You're great, I'd like to get a dance *smile* now." (or "as soon as you're done *smile*")... I hope that helps.

I mostly visit during dayshifts -- it's more convenient for me schedule-wise, and far easier for me to get the type of experience I like -- and from what I can tell, you're spot on, it seems like it's far more regular-driven than nightshifts. What you experienced is more or less what I'd expect from the "other side" ... the stripper and I know each other well, I may have come in just for her OR she may have come in just for me, she knows I come in very often, usually during the slowest part of the slowest shifts, and spend every dime I have on just her, so she's going to go to stage and then come right back to me (even if you ask her for a dance, she'll usually politely tell you she's with a customer).

But I've never seen a club where every dancer is with a regular, there's usually girls floating around. Coming in earlier definitely helps, coming in shortly after opening usually means all the girls are free for an hour or two. Are YOU interested in becoming a regular, or just playing the field? If you want to play the field, on dayshift sometimes the girls break off from the regulars at 5:00ish when the after-work rush starts, and they're more available (but the hustle is higher)

I appreciate all the replies. I will try to go at different times, and different days.
Several years ago, when I was much younger, I was more interested in a variety of dancers. I spent quite a lot of time at The Yellow Rose in Austin, Tx. There was always a pretty lady asking to spend time with you, one fine lady after another. Back then, I really enjoyed all that attention.

Every day/night in a club can be different. I am sure some regulars only visit their ATF on certain days, more dancers working Thursday instead of Monday, etc.
I will just have to try and find the best time to go to some of these different clubs...could be a fun experiment!

I do plan to go back to the club with the pretty brunette...really did enjoy everything about her.

You must ask for what you want. Tell the girl you are interested in you would like to buy a dance when she gets off stage. Nothing cute, no euphemisms about spending time[let her do that] just that you have money are are looking to spend it.

Go back a time or two and, soon enough, you could be the regular that occupies her time while some other guy sits waiting.

If I know who you are and you tip well I am going to seek you out. If you want to see me you need to seek me out and offer what my regular isn't. It is supply and demand!

Sophia, if I had a dollar for every time I've done this, and got the response of "sorry, but I'm sitting with someone now", I'd have enough cash to buy a VIP room at any Manhattan(NYC) club. The reasons for sticking with regulars has been well covered. Neither I, (nor many people, at least) aren't about to get into a bidding war for a dancers attention. Even rick has been "out-whaled" on some days. I'll either find another favorable dancer, go to a different club, or just bail for another day/time.

Cowboy, **any** club can be a "small" club in the afternoon. Small, as in few dancers on shift. I've seen some clubs that have 30-50 dancers on peak weekend nights have only 3-4 dancers working at 5p on a weekday. As far as a good time to go, no foolproof time. "Transition hour" (that 1-2 hour window when dayshift dancers are on their last hour, and the night shift is just starting to come in) can be a good time to catch the best of both worlds.

Jeeze. Don't customers go to the club to get away from their wives? (Heh heh heh.)

Okay, with that info in mind, I advise Cowboy12 to speak to staff/hosts on his behalf. If there is a particular girl that he fancies, a host can relay the message to her. If I was sitting with someone on a slow dayshift and a host whispered in my ear that Cowboy12 was willing to spend money on a room, I would excuse myself from Mr. Regular by saying "Aww... it's sooo much fun sitting with you, honey... but I have to go -work- now *cute sad pout*".

Source: Been there done that. It looks official and is very effective.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

    Recap and rephrase time here................

    1) OP says that he is unable to get dances from dancers during several club visits even when he has been the only one tipping stageside.
    2) Sophia suggests a more direct, proactive approach (good suggestion, btw) with dancers by positively stating that he's interested in getting dances from her while he's handing her the stage tip.

    3) minnow cites that there are still several instances where the direct approach doesn't work- dancer is firmly ensconced with her regular.

With that in mind, what benefit is there in greasing the palms of a host/manager after dancer has already shot you down ? I'm guessing that you might be telling OP to eschew the direct approach with dancer, and slip the host a Jackson or 2 instead ? You just gave me the laugh of the day.

There's a world of difference between Manhattan, and "Space Coast FL". The CCB clubs are home to $10 dances. OP already indicated that they're small dives. The shoes that your typical Manhattan club customer wears probably costs more than the clothes of a dozen Space Coast club customers. Think shorts, a "life is a beach" t-shirt, and flip-flops vs $1500 suits. Is such a club likely to have a dedicated "host" on staff ?
Even the best football teams have to punt now and then.

No matter how popular a dancer is, she isn't always with a regular. Example: here in Phoenix there is a dancer at the Hi-Liter who frequently has PL's stacked up from here to Tucson waiting for her attention and dances. She never shortchanges anyone; if they want to talk for 20-30 minutes before buying dances, she's good with that. She never upsells VIP dances; if a customer wants to, she's good with that and ups her already excellent mileage up another notch or two. Some days, unless you've texted her ahead of time, you aren't getting a dance no matter what, cuz she is literally booked solid for hours. She is undoubtedly one of the highest earners at the club and has been for years. It's safe to say she has more regulars than any other dancer I've known in 20+ years of clubbing.

That said, she's told me there are days where she has nobody coming in to see her and while she always banks, she's having to work the floor much harder than normal. You want dances from her? Try going up to the tip rail, compliment her on her ability to juggle many regulars and ask her which are her slowest days, telling her that if she has no time for you today, you'll be back on the slow day. Then follow through and do it. Everyone was a newbie in a club once. If she's really worth it to you, establish your bona fides and soon you'll be the one cockblocking some other n00b.

I think Sophia was trying another angle to help avoid the face-to-face refusal, and perhaps work the angle that having the host come up might exert some pressure on the regular to be less hurt about her running off for a bit... but in the end, my experience matches what minnow said. I go to what suffices as mid-range and high-end clubs in my city, and my regular girls who are sitting with me (who know that I"m a regular source of income during the slowest times of the slowest shifts) just will not risk it to go get who knows how many dances with an unknown customer. Whether he asks her at stage, or the host comes over, the answer is the same, "sorry I'm with a customer"

When I"m the one getting blocked by a regular, I do exactly what chili suggests. I catch her at the tip rail, I tell her, "I see you're already with a customer but if you free up, I'd love to do some dances". Sometimes it's just someone she's chatting with and she agrees to switching over to me. Sometimes she's not willing to leave the customer, so I ask her when her slow shifts usually are and when I might catch her. All I need to do is catch her one time, at which time I get her phone number, and from then on I can make an appointment with her over text, let her manage my appointment time around other customers, etc. How well she manages her regular appointments is a whole 'nother topic!

Thanks everyone....Radius, I like your line "I see you're already with a customer but if you free up, I'd love to do some dances"...I will try it next time.
I went back to one of the clubs and the situation has improved! They just hired 5 more dancers for the day shift.
Only a few regulars in on last Wed night, so plenty of lovely ladies were available.
It was interesting also that at around 6 PM, most of the regular customers left.

I also think that since the ladies have seen me in this club 3x now, and see me spending money, and treating them right, they are more friendly. Even though they were sitting at the bar with their customers, a couple of them they made it a point to walk past me after their stage set and say "Hi" and "Hope you can stay for a while". (I did tip them on stage)
May be some hope for the small clubs after all.
With any luck I may become one of the regulars I was complaining about, LOL!
This site has been great for tips on life in the club, and how to handle different situations.

Space Coast clubs, especially Inner Room, are quite different dayshift/nightshift but only after about 9:00pm. Tell the dancer when you tip her on stage that you would like to get some dances when she is finished with her set. Almost always they will come to you immediately or soon after. At IR, sit at or near the bar. The rolling chairs seem to be avoided be the girls. Failing that, stand by the eastern doorway. Girls will see you and you won't have to wait more than a minute for a visit. Good luck.

This is a decision every dancer has to make in regard to her own business model.

Obviously, the opportunity to cultivate 'regulars' depends on a dancer choosing to work in the same club, or at least work in the same city, month after month year after year. Just as obviously, if a dancer invests the effort to cultivate a 'regular', that can pay dividends on slow nights when a 'regular' can become the major source of dancer income.

On the flip side, cultivating 'regulars' also involves the ever famous 'lost opportunity cost', because having a 'regular' present in the club can prevent the dancer from cashing in on new / other customers. Also, cultivating 'regulars' involves a calculated risk of future problems, as some number of 'regulars' may raise their expectations after investing some amount of time and some amount of dollars in a 'favorite' dancer ... sometimes to the point of becoming major problems.

In my own case, early on in my dancing career I decided that I was better off travelling than staying in one club / city, and also decided that cultivating 'regulars' involved more potential negatives than potential positives for me both in terms of earnings as well as 'drama'. In time, quite a few guys nonetheless became repeat customers - but with no 'false' expectations that their repeat business garnered them any sort of special status with me. But that's just me.

I know a club like these ones. The key is persistence. If they see you around taking dances with other girls, even if you rarely get approached, they'll show more and more interest in you. Eventually you'll become a regular yourself.

If you want to expedite the process, ask the waitress about a particular dancer you saw on stage. She should be more than happy to convey your interest.

No one said anything about greasing palms. I mentioned speaking with staff... whether they be security, a bartender, waitress, host, whatever. I've had everyone from managers to bar-backs and coat check girls come up to me and say "the guy in the blue shirt really wants to get a dance from you..." 4-out-of-5 times, I excuse myself from the person/people I'm sitting with and perform my stripperly duties for the new dude.

Look at it this way, on a slow shift like a dayshift with only a handful of customers in the club, club staff are fairly approachable. Speaking with them and saying something like "Damn, what does a guy have to do to get a dance around here? Har har har!" And yeah, you might want to tip the bartender/waitress a little bit more for the drink(s) and most of the time they are happy to relay a message for you... no greasy palms, really. Even bouncers like to play match-maker once in a while.

If a club isn't a back-biting hate-filled hell-hole, staff (and even other dancers) want to make sure that a girl doesn't miss an opportunity. Yes, cooperation does exist in the club! I've played messenger/matchmaker too... just for the good karma.
