Search What finance app do you use??

I am currently trying to be more organized with my money and want to start keeping track of my finances so I can see where my money really goes. I heard really good things about Mint, which although quite beautiful, seems to be suitable only for people who make all of their purchases with their debit cards. While I do have a bank account and credit card debt, I still mostly use cash and I even pay my rent in cash and would like something that can accommodate cash purchases as well as debit and credit card activity. I liked how Mint automatically shows your bank activity, and if it allowed my lock box of cash as some sort of "account" where I could enter just that information manually it would be perfect. I was looking at another program called Spending but every little thing has to be entered manually and it seems like it would be painstaking to set it up.

So what I'm asking are what systems to people use for their budgeting? Any apps out there that can accommodate those who earn a fluctuating cash income? Basically I want a way to see a pie chart of how my money is spent without having to painstakingly manually enter a ton of data.

    Thanks!

have a look at Level Money ...

Unfortunately, with any personal finance app, where cash payments are concerned manual entries can't be avoided.

Of course I don't expect cash entries to appear magically, I meant that I wanted something where cash entries could be entered manually and bank transactions were uploaded automatically. I think I may have found my answer. Apparently you can manually enter cash entries on Mint, it just doesn't give you a total of the amount of cash you have but doesn't necessarily total it for you but does factor those transactions into your overall spending.

I would suggest checking out the apps your financial institution has available. Since you are wanting to include cash transactions.

Many of my customers and small business clients deposit all their funds and then if you choose to use cash, it is withdrawn for the exact amount, check or debit card purchase to create a paper trail for taxes.
Then when they get the statements they match up all the receipts for each purchase.
It sounds like alot of work but once you get the system in place it becomes alot easier then trying to do it for the whole year.
