    Question Blinging out stripper heels?

Would anyone happen to know what glue might work best for gluing plastic rhinestones all over a pair of clear, 8-inch Pleasers? I’m trying to fix up my older pair of shoes, make them pretty again and while super glue seems like a good suggestion, I want something a little stronger. Does anyone have experience with this? I was thinking of using E-6000 but don't really have any experience with this type of glue or decorating shoes period.
Has anyone done anything similar and if so, what did you find works best?

I'm trying to make my shoes look similar to this:

E600 is best. Use sand paper to make some texture on the material, then add the stones and glue. Big sizes like in the picture are easier to work with, but a smaller size looks much better in my opinion.

Thanks, I have a feeling I'm going to have quite a bit of work ahead of me, gluing them on but it will be well worth the effort. I am going to have to get out of the bad habit of clacking my shoes together onstage though lol I was thinking of doing a mixture of sizes to give it a unique look and make the design more ergonomic.

Hope this doesn't sound like a threadjack.

Has anyone tried to use spray on plastidip to refinish shoes? People use it on cars and tools and stuff instead of paint. Supposed to be able to either spay a new layer on top of an old one or just peel it off.

It comes in a ton of different colors and can have stuff like gold flake in it or color shifting versions.

Sparkly silver/white with a rhinestones covering them would be awesome! If the stuff works on shoes.

That's really creative! The problem is the um sole of my heel came off of the platform so of course, me being at work at the time, just super glued it back together for a quick fix. The superglue dripped down the clear hollow part of the heel and dried white. Out in the club lighting, it either looks like it's sperm on the inside of my shoe. *facepalm* So that might actually be enough to cover it.
I was considering covering them in glitter but couldn't figure what kind of glue I would need for the glitter or how to 'seal' the glitter on there to keep it from getting everywhere afterwards.
I'm not worried about thread-jacking, go ahead and share your tips on decorating your shoes.

^^ Think of the stuff like plastic/rubbery spray paint, that you can peel and start over with. So it'll hide the glue smears inside your heels.

I'm pretty sure it'll work on dancer shoes, because it seems to work on plastic car parts. Was just hoping someone else tried it.

I did find an old forum post when googling that said a guy sprayed over a pair of leopard heels, but never said how it turned out.

Google the crystal katana. Ive bought one of these, you can move so fast with it once you get the hang of it. Much better than the tweezer method. I use a syringe to place the drops of glue then I use the katana to place the stones over the glue.

I will say this - while I love modpodge for most crafty projects, I found it didn't hold up well on my old stripper heels. Granted, I used a larger sized glitter so maybe that was the problem. After a month or so I started to find glitter fallout all around the club here and there (and in my dancer bag), and it left my old heels looking patchy.

Thanks, I got one on the way!

Go to dreamtimecreations.com and get real Swarovski with the metal back. E6000 is the best glue but it will eat the bottom of the plastic or acrylic rhinestones so they aren't as sparkly and have bubbles in them. Swarovski are so much prettier. The ones on that shoe are prob a size ss 30 or 40. The pleasers that you buy are like ss 20 but it would take forever with the smaller ss 20s.

Gem-tack, I've used this and crystals bought off eBay to bring out my dance shoes and it dries completely clear without dulling the sparkle of the crystals. Hard wearing although obviously some will come off as part of wear and tear, but I use it to do all my shoes, trainers and normal going out shoes too. Can be bought from eBay and various other online shops fairly cheaply. I swear by it! Gem-tack is the one to beat for me! Xx

I've used both GemTac and E6000. GemTac sticks well on clothes but on shoes it's not as durable as E6000.
