    Duh HELP: Blackmail, Vids Posted.

Hi Guys. Well I'm having my first experience with being blackmailed and finding my vids posted online. It all started when a guy messaged me on Skype to "Warn me" about a guy on CB that was selling my vids. Then this guy gives me my personal, real life, secret email, and start saying threatening things like "I left something sweet in her email, I also left something sweet in her HP laptop". Of course I have an HP laptop. I'm freaking the fuck out. I don't know if these guys have my address, real name, SSN, etc etc etc. I know there are a lot of threads on this but I am feeling very overwhelmed about what to do and where to start. Can anyone offer any advice or direction on where to start first? How to report the links? Get the vids taken down? Etc.

    Firstly:
    Disconnect your internet
    Back up you shit.
    Factory reset.

    Secondly get a VPN! https://www.hidemyass.com/pricing

Thirdly find the links and submit a DMCA takedown notice(if they are sold on Chaturbate, put their contact info in)
If you can't file a DMCA, let chaturbate or whatever site the vids are off of.

Contact Shirley - [email protected] - tell her what is happening and about the videos posted online. She's gonna make you email Guardlex to have the videos removed, but she might be able to see something on her end that you can't. I wouldn't DMCA request the videos with ANY personal information. I get at least 75% of my videos removed on my own just by saying "I am XXX from Chaturbate and this was recorded and uploaded without my permission. I want these videos removed. You can find my chaturbate profile at chaturbate.com/XXX" and CC Shirley on it, so it shows someone from Chaturbate in the email it's self.

Download a virus checker - usually you can find some for free. Make sure you look through the results and see if there are keyloggers. At any point you could have showed part of your laptop and they could have seen you have an HP, so don't worry too much. But be careful when you back up your videos, you might be copying something that tracks information and could be putting it right back on your computer.

What you can do is back up your videos/photos and delete them so no one will see them - take it to a pc place and ask them to check. Tell them that you think someone installed something like a keylogger and might be using it to remotely access your computer or it's information.

Don't worry too much about it. It's out of your hands until you can check to see if there's any weird software on your computer. Just make sure you don't change passwords from your computer until you know. Deactivate your social media accounts for the time being, especially if you have FB.And DEFINITELY do not feel like you need to in to someone being an asshole. So many models give them free shows to try to make them stop, but that's definitely not the way to go.

How do I submit the DMCA request? As in, who do I email it to? I'm searching and googling and find a bunch of different emails. I don't want to send it to the wrong person & make this problem worse.

Then email someone from streammate and see if they will help. Right now that's not your main concern. You're ALWAYS going to find capped shows online. What you need to worry about is that someone might have your name and address and access to all of your online accounts.

I hope to be the voice of reason here. First of all, don’t panic and don’t have any further communication with the person who is harassing you, by doing so you are merely feeding their sick desire to frighten you. Completely ignore him or her.

As for the videos you found, all you can do is contact Streamate and Chaturbate and request that they send a DCMA. Do not use your personal information as you are not the copyright holder and doing so may reveal your personal information.

Is your computer hacked? I highly doubt it, hackers do not tell someone they have hacked that person’s computer, it defeats the purpose of hacking it in the first place. In any event, run Malwarebytes (it’s free).

As far as knowing your brand of laptop, a hacker gains nothing from that kind of information, it would serves no real purpose so I have no idea why a hacker would even care. My best guess is that at some point your laptop was shown on your cam.

This person has your real Email address which, of course, is a reason for concern. I could think of a number of ways this could happen. Go ahead and Google your own email and see what results come back.

This could very well be someone you know in real life. Which brings to my last point, while the idea of a crazed cam fan can be scary, I think such a threat is very highly exaggerated.

I can only make an educated estimate but I would think a cam girl is at least a several thousand times more likely to be assaulted by someone they know in real life (boyfriend, husband, exes, co-workers) than by a member of a cam site.

If your main concern is being “outed”, the general consensus here is that it’s not a matter of if you get outed but when you get outed, it’s all but inevitable.

PS You might want to change your password for all your important online accounts and Email. I also use nonsense answers for security questions.

Thank you everyone for the comments & support. I have followed everyone's advice. I'm cleaning up accounts, removing personal information & remaining calm. It was just a really scary feeling having someone contact me with personal info like that.

One last word on this issue as a whole.

Don’t be a victim!, if someone tells you about video of you posted online, respond by saying “Yeah, I know about that video but thanks for telling me” and then never respond to that person again.

If someone threatens to expose or out you. Just say, “Everyone already knows about my camming” and, once again, never respond to anything they say again.

You have to realize that these sick assholes get off on your fear, if you act like you just don’t care, they will move on to another girl because you are not giving them what they want.

I kinda agree with BillyJackBitch. Seems like the only issue is this person somehow getting your email addy. Do you ever use paypal, amazon wishlists, or anything like that? Some sites like that can show your email, name, or address. If said person "left you something sweet" in your email, I simply suggest not opening anything that looks fishy or unfamiliar. Next question would be do you access your banking stuff on that same computer? If so and that's something that you may have done, I would go to the library or a friend's and change any of your passwords from a different computer. If you are concerned that your computer is somehow compromised or has a virus, don't change your passwords from that same computer.

Now word of caution, be careful when you send someone links. If you're logged into certain sites, and you directly link someone, occasionally, you can inadvertently give them access to your information. Nothing else this person said is really relevant, and is just a scare tactic. A mirror in your room could show someone what kind of laptop you have or it could be a lucky guess. I wear glasses on camera, and I try not to look up certain things while I'm camming because my screen can reflect off my glasses, especially if you have a good, clear stream.
For as long as I can remember, I've been different. I've always felt apart from the rest. Maybe it's because I want to be and so I make it so. Or maybe I really am different, perhaps we aren't as alike as we all thought we were. I don't know, I don't have the answers, I'm not even sure I want one.
