    Default MRSA + Self Confidence

I got bit by a brown recluse about 4 months ago, and I had developed MRSA. I took antibiotics for it, and it healed up, but left dark purple scars. Since I am a dancer, people assume that I shoot up heroin and that's the reason why I have the scars. But that isn't the case. One girl even asked if I had Herpes.

The ones on my knees (1 big one and 1 medium one) bust sometimes and bleed so I add big bandages and it helps, but the ones on my right ass cheek (about 7, some medium, some small) I don't. I try to use concealer, and it works, but it rubs off. I don't know what to do. It keeps interferring with my self confidence at work. I had amazing confidence before I got the bites.

Do you ladies have any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

I would wear stockings and keep your business to yourself. I hope you clean up and sanitize properly after it bursts. I'm not even sure I'd want to work in a club where that was a hazard. I'm sorry you caught this but you should do all you can to safeguard your coworkers. MRSA is no joke and it can spread.

Are you saying the marks on your knees and butt check are from the recluse spider or MRSA? If it's the latter I think you should stay home till it heals as it's contagious and spread by skin to skin contact. If you need to be there for financial reasons then definitely cover the marks with bandages while you're working. My child had ringworm which is contagious and spread from skin to skin contact too. I covered the lesion with clear bandage to prevent it spreading to others.

But I totally feel yah. Anytime I get skin marks, lesions, cuts and have to wear bandaids it seem to signal to customers that something is going on and tend to make less money. The clear invisible or flesh colored bandaid better because they're less noticeable.

    Hope you heal soon!

They're both from spider bites and turned into MRSA. It's completely healed, but it didn't heal right so there are dark scars. All of the stuff is out (root, puss, etc.), they're just purple from scarring.

If scars are completely healed they shouldn't still bust open and bleed...maybe you do need to rest a couple of weeks to let them close up properly? If they are still partially open and you put concealer etc. on them it could cause them to get re-infected.

If you can get some, Manuka Honey is excellent for healing wounds, you apply it and then put a light dressing on top. It is antibacterial and anti fungal, and apparently helps fade scars too.

It should be Manuka with a factor of 10 or above to get the benefits.

I know what you mean, I have one on my knee too. Are you sure it was MRSA though? A Staph infection doesn't always mean it's the resistant Staph (MRSA). The chances of it being MRSA are higher if you got the infection from a hospital, but it doesn't mean that you can't get it in the community also. Anyway, my scars have never opened like that so maybe you want to just take a break until they don't open up. Maybe if you wear those knee high socks they will cover it enough to wear it doesn't show, doesn't contact anything, and doesn't get pulled on enough to rip open? I don't know what to do about the others on your ass, but I think they'll become less noticeable over time. Guys probably think they're a birth mark or something if they do see them (which they probably don't). They don't know for sure what they are, so try not to let it get you down!

Something isn't normal. Can you go to a doctor (maybe another doctor if you've seen one already) and get checked out? No one should have to endure 4 long months of scars busting and bleeding. You aren't healing properly. I've heard of situations like this happening to elderly people and those with conditions like diabetes. At your age, it could indicate some underlying condition. Perhaps there is a wound management specialist that you can consult with? A dermatologist should be your next stop after the doctor. They might have some treatment to help your scars fade. But the fact that they aren't fading for this long makes me worry.

Take it easy, especially on your knees... don't crawl on your knees, don't dance on your knees, don't do floorwork on your knees. Avoid pole-work that strains the skin on and around your knees. You need to let that skin heal... especially because you've already had MRSA and strip clubs are fucking filthy.

You can use a few coats of Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs on your butt and set it with a finishing powder of hairspray or try something like dermablend or tattoo cover up products to hide the scars while they heal. But we are really getting ahead of ourselves. You sound like you need medical attention to ensure that you don't exacerbate the situation or muck up the healing process... we all want you to get better... the superficial stuff can wait until then.

I agree with several of the ladies who've recommended going back to the doctor--particularly a wound treatment specialist. My vanilla gig was in healthcare and I've seen several people with MRSA. People who have long term, difficult infections with reopening (as you're describing) are generally MUCH older and have weakened immune systems. The tissue shouldn't still be bursting. A specialist will have a few lovely methods of better closing the wound (i.e. wound vac, which is at home and non-surgical; special bandages; etc.) that will allow them to fully heal up. A specialist should also have some excellent options for scar appearance improvement.

Unfortunately, I do have to second the notion that you shouldn't be working if they're actively bursting and bleeding. If the bleeding is only because you're putting too much stress on the skin (the knees are really easy to do this on with scar tissue), then it doesn't sound like an active infection so much as you needing to leave the skin alone to rebuild for a month. It may look good on top, but those are weak spots. Now, if the bleeding is random and, honestly, even if it IS just skin stress, it's very possible for you to spread the infection. That opens up the can of worms of infecting a customer, which could very likely get you fired if the management found out (bad for business and all that). I don't claim to know stripping since I'm a camgirl, but I do know that even in the healthcare field people get VERY jumpy around MRSA, c.diff, and the like.

While MRSA can be spread, everyone has it on their skin. It just needs a portal of entry, (spider bite, cut, scrape), many people have had it and not even known it. Unless she is oozing and untreated, she should be fine to work in the club.

It sounds like you have an immune system dysfunction. Switch to an anti-inflammatory diet (http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/ART02012...lammatory-diet), eliminate drugs and alcohol from your system. If you smoke, quit. There is something really wrong here, and makeup should be the least of your worries.

To help heal your wounds, go to a sunbed, but make sure your wounds are covered. The scars will get darker and more obvious if you tan them, but the body will produce vitamin d in the sun bed and that will help your body heal more quickly.

If you must keep working, dermablend is a waterproof, long wearing makeup brand. It is used by burn victims and the movie industry. It's expensive, but it won't rub off during exercise. It may transfer to clothing, so be careful of your customer's clothes while giving lap dances.

Yeah, all this happened when I was sleeping.
I have been very tired lately and they are not healing at all. I could post pics if that were an option.

When you say that things aren't "healing at all".... that is a huge red flag!

Look. You have to get some sort of medical help, cassiekins. Pics posted on the interwebz wont get you the effective help that you need. See a professional. Follow their instructions. Meet with a dermatologist after that and see what they can do for you. It seems like you have an underlying issue... it could be related to circulation. You could have a deficiency. Maybe it's something to do with your immune response. Maybe it's something genetic... or... maybe you're just pushing yourself too hard when you need to be focussing on getting better.

Now that you have mentioned feeling tired, I'm even more worried for you. A few years back, I've worked so hard that I couldn't function well, even on a cellular level too!

The only thing worse than pissing off a spider so much that it bites you nine!!! fucking times... is not heeding the advice of helpful strippers on this forum.

See a doctor or a specialist. See a doctor to help you with the skin discoloration too. Take care of yourself. And most importantly...Get well soon.

P.S. In case I wasn't clear.... go to a doctor, like... yesterday.

The medicine to treat that is Maripropal - you and anyone in your house needs to do a 30 day treatment - you apply it in your nostrils twice a day - no sharing towels - bleach baths - one capful of bleach per gallon of water for 30 days - bleach your bathroom - use hibiclens soap http://www.hibiclens.com/ - Odoban in your laundry and spray your mattress /pillows couch etc... http://www.odoban.com/where-to-buy.php - you must decolonize that ish or it can come back anytime you get sick or weakened immune

^^ Everything Nikki said is SUPER useful. MRSA is one of those nasty infections that (as I'm hoping the doctors told you) sticks around and has a high rate of reinfection for those with weakened immune systems (i.e. people who already have it). Keeping things as sterile as possible is very, very important.
