Default I get absolutely exhausted at work....

Hello SW....I need advice on ways to save energy at work. I feel that I try my best to move slowly during lap dances and to not tire myself out, but every shift without fail I sweat like a crazy woman and also am just completely dead halfway through the shift. Almost like I was just at the gym for the past 3 hours.
I see girls everywhere in my club (big club in Vegas) with nice DRY hair...but here I am over here with wet, sweaty hair, one hour into my shift. It's disgusting lol. I also get to the point where my legs feel incredibly weak and wobbly, and my lap dances get crappier and crappier as the night goes on because I'm just so exhausted and out of breath. Last night I turned down a VIP right before I clocked out because I was too tired to do it
What do you guys do to prevent this?? I go to the gym regularly already so I don't need an extra workout from work, lol. How do you keep going like the Energizer bunny for an entire shift??

Have you thought about going to a Dr?

Do you eat during your shift? You could just be literally running out of energy. Also, if you drink, this will raise your internal body temp and cause you to sweat more. The sweating could be contributing to dehydration and that will leave you without any energy either.

Try bringing snacks to work. I like to bring a protein bar (Quest bar is low carb), some whole grain crackers (like triscuits), fruit and nuts. Also, bring a bottle of water you can keep in your locker. Tell yourself you will drink the whole thing. Shoot for 2 liters during your shift.

If this doesn't make you feel better, then a visit to the DR. may be necessary.

First, how long have you been dancing? When I first started, and last summer when I was working irregularly, I got sweaty and exhausted quickly too. It's pretty natural for that to be the case with new girls, because it basically IS adding an extra workout. It should at least become more moderate with time.

For the topical problem of sweating like crazy, I would suggest keeping a towel and a bit of dry of shampoo in your bag/locker. Just freshen up as necessary, but don't overdo it with the dry shampoo or you could start to look matted.

As for the exhaustion, what is your diet like both on and off the clock? Are you drinking plenty of healthy fluids like water and juices, or are you chugging soda at home and knocking back booze at work? Is your diet carb heavy, or are you getting enough protein? Are you snacking on things during your shift, or are you trying to tough it out? Do you use drugs?

If you've been at this a while, are already freshening up frequently, avoiding or minimizing caffeine/alcohol consumption, and are eating a healthy diet (primarily veggie carbs, plenty of animal/nut protein) both on and off the clock, then it may be time to talk to a doctor.

If you work in a restaraunt, you wear skid resistant shoes and a uniform.
If you work in a strip club, you wear 7" stilettos and lycra g-strings.

Hmm thanks guys....looks like I should probably go to a doctor :/ I've been dancing for a year and a half but never noticed the exhaustion til the last few months. I drink at work but not enough to get drunk, and I always bring a liter of water with me and finish it before my shift along with glasses of water whenever I get thirsty from the bar. I don't think I could physically drink more water lol. I will try bringing food tonight to work....usually I just bring a Luna bar or something and just eat when I get home because eating a meal while I'm there makes me even more tired and feel sleepy.
I'll also try to eat healthier while I'm at home. I do eat pretty well but I do eat lots of carbs from time to time, especially around "shark week" lol. I don't do drugs either but I was joking that I should start so I would have more energy lol (JOKING!!!! )
Thanks for the suggestions....I'll post here again if any health issues come up just in case other girls are having similar symptoms. <3

If this is a recent development that didn't follow some kind of change, then you definitely need to see a doctor.

Some things to keep in mind and try tweaking are:
    - Try drinking slightly LESS water. You may be flushing out electrolytes, particularly if you're drinking water and alcohol on shift. Instead, keep a bottle of Gatorade in your bag/locker and drink a bit here and there between water over the course of your shift. Better yet, if you're bringing a reusable bottle of water to work, a cheaper (and more sustainable) option would be getting powdered Gatorade and adding half the amount you normally would to your water to get the equivalent of a 50/50 water/Gatorade mix.
    - Trade your starchy/grain carbs for more veggies. Think zucchini pasta instead of noodles, or cauli-"rice" instead of white rice, or kale chips instead of potato chips, or a veggie omelet instead of cereal for breakfast, etc. If you're eating a lot of carbs at home and then suddenly starving yourself except for a nutrition bar at work, a big part of the problem is probably blood sugar. The important thing is that you can't just cut carbs willy-nilly, or you'll create nutritional deficits and digestive problems. You need to substitute them with veggies.
