I am curious as how to get long and full lashes with mascara.
Mine natural lashes are super short and I use the Lancôme vibrating wand mascara. I like it but is there anything else or other mascara you ladies like to use to get beautiful lashes?

I personally like the Covergirl Bombshell mascara..I like those fancy brands, but too pricey!

Yeah, I don't even know if the fancy ones are much better anyway...I got a Dior one recently and it's not that great and cost 3 times the price of the Boots (high street store) own brand one I usually buy. Most mascaras seem to dry out the same way whether they are cheaper or high-end. Maybe I have bad luck with them.
I find it is how I apply mascara that makes most difference, if I'm rushing and put on one or two thick coats it doesn't look good but applying three or four thin layers, starting right at the root and letting it dry in between coats, gives a nice long and un-clumpy look.

L'oreal double extend is pretty good. Use the white part to lengthen and thicken your lashes.
Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans

I really love Benefit mascaras (Bad Gal and They're Real!). I have really short, blonde eyelashes and these two mascaras are a godsend.

I layer two different types, and like JessaJade said, application really makes the difference. I first coat my lashes with Smashbox primer, then I apply Smashbox Full Exposure. My lashes tend to clump, so I run Cover Girl Clump Crusher through them to fight that. As for application, you should first curl your lashes, then try to get the wand as close to the base of your lashes as possible. Once it's situated there, try wiggling the brush a bit before moving along the length of your lashes. I've heard it called the "press and wiggle" technique--the same one for tightlining. The idea is to build volume at the base of your lashes, which makes them look a lot thicker, then bring the wand out to coat and hopefully lengthen the appearance of the lash.
I mostly look for a good curling mascara, but if I wanted lengthening, I would try a primer and the new Urban Decay Perversion that Simone mentioned.

I use one by lorac but it's discontinued( like everything I like). It has the white base coat and the other end. I like mascara that gives me a fanned out look, not think and clumpy look. I use to layer two as well. two by loreal a curling one and I can't remember the other.

I love CoverGirl Lashblast Volume, the waterproof one (waterproof help my lashes stay curled better)... I've tried Chanel, Dior, YSL... And always go back to this mascara! I stopped trying to find something better lol. When I want a more dramatic effect I just put on falsies.

I also like a lot the Benefit "They're Real" in the mini size..it's easier for a lefty to use. The CG Bombshell now comes in a curling version

The old pink and green tube apparently works for me. Just lots of thin layers. I get plenty of compliments, but I'm not 100% satisfied. Definitely wanting to try Too Faced's Better Than Sex. Has anyone tried Younique's 3D lash fibers?

Even though it's not technically a "lengthening" mascara, Chanel le Volume covers all the bases for me. It has a great brush that helps get each and every lash while also doing a great job lengthening and also adding volume. It's not clumpy at all either.

Simone, what do you mean by spider lashes?

Usually, spider lashes are too thin, spikey looking?

I have 3 different Dior mascaras: the curling one, DiorShow, and high volume DiorShow. I prefer the basic DiorShow, nice coverage and it doesn't flake. However, I got a sample of a new Make Up Forever mascara that's pretty darned amazing! I love using it on my lower lashes because my corner lashes are so short. This brush gets those little guys with no mess. It also separates nicely.
Dior Show original has always been my favorite, can't find anything to match that yet. Benefit Bad Gal lash is close to it but it dries up really fast in my experience. Since I'm poor at the moment I've been using Rimmel Scandaleyes curve alert mascara and I'm surprised how good it works, highly recommend it if you are looking for good budget mascara that gives you great volume and length.

To the OP: Have you tried eyelash primers before applying mascara? I have the Dior one and it does make a difference. There are cheaper options out there. (I got a huge gift certificate for Dior Make up a few months ago. I would never spend $30 on a mascara, but I had to use this GC in one weekend or it would expire. I am now an expert on Dior, lol).

^Primer seems to have an immediately positive effect on the appearance of my lashes, but I think it really helps in the long run as well because it moisturizes your lashes, and healthier lashes stay around longer (and have more time to grow). For example, while I really liked the way Benefit's They're Real made my lashes look, it dried them out like crazy. I was shedding lashes left and right after only using it maybe half a week, and my average lash length became noticeably shorter till I changed mascaras and babied them into growing long again. This also relates to makeup removal--don't scrub your lashes/eye area if you don't want to encourage wrinkles and weak lashes.

I think Mac does the best mascara, they have a fake lashes one that I can't think of the name of right now, that and their primer and it's almost as good as fake lashes.
I got eyelash extensions about a month and a half ago and it's the best £ I've ever spent, I absolutely love them. It's like waking up with make up on everyday.
