Which Risque? Northeast or Delaware Ave? Atlantis is unofficially a "black club" but they play all kinds of music there. And I've heard mgt at both places can be douches.

Both northeast and Delaware ave. what are they like?

Not sure about Atlantis, but the Delaware Ave Risque tries to be more of an upscale club. Though I haven't worked there, I've been over there a few times in the early evening with my boyfriend. Girls I know that have auditioned there have said management expects full makeup, including fake eyelashes, and a wig if you're either black or have short hair.

If you're a n00b go to Daydreams.

Risque is a joke. I auditioned there a few years ago, got hired but was so unimpressed by all the rules and schedule requirements during the walkthrough I chose to take my happy ass to Delilahs instead (where there are both short haired, lashless white girls and black girls with fros, making bank). If they marketed themselves as the mid-tier chain that they actually are, it'd be all well and good. But instead they have this pretentious faux-upscale image that they use to micro manage the dancers. Blech. If you are a newbie they will probably try to make you work at the Northeast Philly location.
Try Daydreams like Tempest said. It's nude but very newbie friendly. Penns Port Pub is also a nice place to work. It's a stage only dive bar right down the street from the Delaware Ave Risque, a lot of the Daydreams dancers actually do extra shifts there. If think the owners are bffs. There's also Oasis near the airport, it has pretty steady customer flow but isn't quite as newbie-friendly as Daydreams. If you are comfortable being around super raunchy stuff as long as you don't have to participate, I hear Show N Tell can be decent. It's good stage money and the dances are $30 and in a public area so relatively safe, although there are definitely extras in the back rooms.
You didn't specify your race but if you are black you are in luck, Philly is def more black girl friendly than a lot of cities.

Show n' Smell is nasty. I walked in and walked right back out. Can you make it out to the suburbs? I can give you a wealth of info about the burbs. Also Philly is cracking down on the business license thing.

Tempest is right about Show n' Tel. I know girls that have worked there. Aside from being nasty the club takes a huge cut of the dance money 60% to the club 40% to the dancer. Girls do shows with toys...seriously, nobody likes that place.
What do you mean by cracking down on the business license thing? Like they are making sure that girls have them?

Yeah. I called for Sabel's and they said to bring ID and copy of business license.

Gotcha, I just went to Daydreams last night and they copied my id and asked about a business license but that was it. what does a girl have to do to get said business license?
do you need the license to work in the suburbs?

No, no license. Which burbs?

Any...I'm not in the area right now but I might be moving soon. I was planning on CR Delaware or Cheerleaders since I want to live in the city but I could do CR NE, Double visions, wherever. I do have a car.

Doubles is great! I love that place. Clean club, pretty girls, no competing with gum jobs or jelly rolls like the other places I've worked at.

yeah I've heard...I actually just called to ask about their scheduling, it seems like they don't have a # of days requirement? If I moved I would need to focus on some other things and could only work a couple nights a week. Idk if I was talking to manager but he was really nice. I called Risque Delaware some weeks ago to ask about their scheduling too and the guy I was talking to there was a pain in the ass.

One Sunday a month and now one Monday and Tuesday.
Good luck with auditioning. They are very reasonable (Mon-Thurs 12 am-12 pm) Getting on the schedule will take some time. I was a call in my first 2 months. Also the girls there are tiny and super fit. I'm a "Goodyear blimp" at 120 size 3. That place keeps me on my toes. I've gone from 4-5 days at the gym to 6 days.

I hardly think a size 3 is large.
I wouldn't be concerned about getting hired

Has anyone been to Vanity Grande?

A bunch of Penthouse girls went over there right after it opened and I've talked to a couple of DJs that were working there. They apparently tried to go for the upscale look as far as dancers and decorations go, but because of the location, they attract a lot of black customers. As a result, they've been having a hard time keeping the "upscale" girls because the demographic that the club attracts aren't the customers that they do well with.
I haven't heard much past that, but it's either a sad attempt at an upscale club, or unofficially a black club at this point.

Tempest you definitely aren't a good year blimp at double visions lol. It is a good club I was there briefly but I couldn't keep up with the scheduling (I disliked having to call in and see what days were available) but there is money to be made there
Vanity grand, I worked there the first month and it was incredibly slow. I'm not sure if it is because it's a new club or because location or because it's summer. I know they are looking for girls though, it's worth a shot...
I'm totally fed up with philly so I just went to nyc

Are the guys in Philly cheap?

Depends on the crowd. Philly has a pretty large corporate culture, so there are a lot of men with a decent disposeable income. Philly also has a lot of colleges, so you can also end up with cheap, broke students, and everything in between.
Does anyone know what are the late shifts at CR, Double Visions, or anything in Philly really? I would love to be able to work the after work crowd but I'm starting to be afraid I won't be able to get there in time after my own 9-5, getting ready and then getting stuck in traffic. I'm pretty much ready to give up on living in the city.
