    Default Professional strippers...

How you know you're professional? What are the key differences between pro and amateur stripper? My own thoughts: professional dancer:

    - goes for the older customers
    - doesn't talk shit about others
    - doesn't show negative feelings towards customers
    - can "see" easily, if customer is going to spend or not.
    - can hide her hate towards other dancer completely.
    - can cause you to lose money without you even realizin it.

I actually invest in my appearance. Gym, plastic surgery, healthy foods.
A gym membership is a good investment. I paid $100 at Planet Fitness for one year. If you can't afford that, running is free. Walking is free.

    - doesn't spend time talking to other girls, instead is focused on making money
    - doesn't take rejection personally. it's a sales job
    - good at starting and making conversations
    - doesn't need approval from other people
    - knows her boundaries, what she will do and what she won't do to make money
    - she doesn't feel like a failure if she doesn't reach her money goal. there's always tomorrow
    - she doesn't feel judge nor judge other girls

Obviously if this is your only job you are doing it "professionally", IMO. But as far as actually working like a professional/taking it seriously:

    - Stays out of drama with girls/employees
    - Comes in, makes money, leaves; the job is not her life
    - Doesn't sit with people for long if they're not spending
    - Approaches as many customers as possible, but knows the demographic of her usual big spenders and targets them first
    - Has boundaries that can't be swayed for a price

treats it like a job, goes in on time, doesn't just sit home until rent it due ( my biggest downfall)
saves money, does her taxes, budgets
takes pride and invests in her appearance
is nice to everyone, but doesn't get into any drama
constantly challenges herself to make more money and learn more hustling/sales techniques, is ever-evolving
doesn't have to get trashed/high at work to make money
knows how to entertain and make a guy feel like he's the most important person in the room

'Can cause you to lose money w/o even realising it' … um where did this come from? Customer view I would hope … since most girls who take the job as seriously as they should wouldn't be 'losing$$´ specifically bc of another dancer.

Like Tempest mentioned, amateurs come in to party, make friends, socialise & find luuuuuuuuv … or they are like one girl who worked at my club who supposedly came from a wealthy family but started dancing just to piss off her parents. She bragged abt this in the DR. Like any other job, true professionals keep their shit to themselves.

They don't fk the staff, or the customers for that matter, if we are talking abt professional dancers as opposed to another kind of professional. They don't go stirring up shit for their own amusement -- work together so every1 can be better off or just keep to yourself & mind your own business. They keep illegal dealings (sex, drugs, etc altho black-market threats may have their place …) outside the club so others who have nothing to do w/ that are not put at risk. I understand these last points may be getting into wish-list territory but, here you have my $.02.

    - Don't believe in "competition" because even in a room of 600, you know there is only one You.
    - Don't cry at work
    - Don't take what customers say to heart

    A professional stripper:
-Puts effort into her appearance (hair, nails, outfit, body, etc)
-Is NOT there to party and get fucked up.
-Uses the dressing room as a dressing room, instead of using it as a hangout place.
-Does not waste time chit-chatting with other dancers.
-Can smile when she walks past a girl who is trying to start drama with her.
-Knows that rejection is a part of the job and tries her best not to let it negatively affect her.
-Knows the demographic of her biggest spenders and goes after them.
    -Is about her money.

I must not be a pro. I work only hard enough to keep the bills paid and the closets nice and full.

    I do, however:

-Keep a spreadsheet of earnings and expenditures and check my year over year data to determine monthly goals.
-Use my cell phone as a sales tool.
-Call and text my regulars so that I have business lined up before I ever leave the house.
-Perfect hair, makeup, outfits, stage presence.
-Promote on Social media and local promotion sites like XoticSpot.
-Cash is king. None of this "lets go shopping and out to dinner" bullshit. If you want my company OTC, it is on an hourly rate.

God damnit, i have done all of the "unprofessional" things!

Eh, I admit I haven't approached stripping as professionally as I should've. I coasted on my stage shows and let money come to me. So I'm sure I missed out on a shit ton of potential money since I wasn't a hustler.

That said, in my mind a "professional" stripper

-always points her toes when she's on stage.

The end. You wouldn't believe how many girls my one sole requirement eliminates!

goes for older customers? wtf? everyone goes for oldet customers and ive found that younger guys spend more.

    professional for me is
-being polite in the dressing room
-abiding by proper stripper etiquette (dont approach a customer someones with, etc)
-being willing to work with girls when the situation calls for it. like when i sit down with a group and there are already girls there and its a laid back, party group with everyone interactint with each other, i expect the girls who have been there awhile to help me fit in and give me a quick run down on whats happening
-sticks to a schedule, stays for the length of whatever is normal for her
-doesnt let minor shitty events affect her. im always like wtf when girls in the dressing room are ranting all night long about some typical time waster customer or how the slow valet caused her to be 3 min late and so had to pay a higher house. this shit happens all the time and it should not make you freak out and occupy you the entire night.

I've definitely encountered some big spenders in the younger crowd -- not spendier than the older folk *over all* IME, but I don't think it's right to discount them altogether! A good hustler knows how to quickly determine if any customer, young or old, is worth the effort. There are totally some young guys who are just there to hang out, but there are also many old guys who have no intention of spending either!

A professional stripper is someone who treats this as a job, because that is what it is. Paying taxes, saving, budgeting... Not spending all of your money on trendy clothes that will last you one season.

A professional stripper leaves the persona at the job and doesn't adopt the stripper "lifestyle" (rampant drugs, drinking, partying in excess due to dancing...if that makes sense). Like anything else, this is a profession, not a perpetual party.

    Indeed.

I'll also take the liberty of going a step farther ... i.e. a SERIOUS professional stripper, who ...

    - does market research regarding which cities are likely to provide the highest earnings potential, and travels to those cities to dance

    - follows seasonal market patterns, again travelling to different cities to take advantage of different 'peak' seasons and avoid 'slow' seasons

    - attempts to 'differentiate' herself from competing dancers ... via anything from persona to plastic surgery

    - attempts to 'direct market' herself ... via anything from club website posts to social media to regular customer 'outreach'

    - manages the 'earnings' side of her business intelligently ... especially taxes and investments

    - manages the 'spending' side of her life intelligently ... especially 'lifestyle' spending temptations
