Default News Outlets across the border & all over the world.

I know CC is not the correct category for this but I am posting in here because I know there may be some Russian, Bulgarian, Colombian, Middle Eastern or Latvian girls who read CC but like me, may not wander into the other categories. I am hoping to find news media outlets I can bookmark from each of the above listed countries/regions. I have been finding some of them but the majority are in the native language of the countries I am searching for. English is the language I read and I am hoping maybe we could cross some borders and share some links?

I personally like to see two and three sides to every news story. Media is so monitored by government and so tainted by fear and corporate sales that often I feel like I am left with no truth. Perhaps if we can read each others' "world news" we can find a middle area and form our own opinions.

well, for middle east news, I usually check jpost.com and aljazeera.com and wind up 'splitting the difference'.

Thanks Melonie. I was hoping to find a Russian news outlet as well. It's a shame this thread was moved and so quickly.

In regard to Russian oriented news, there's rt.com ... which is essentially an online outlet for their english language Russian satellite news service.

RT is owned by FOX I believe. This site is nothing more than propaganda hidden behind the, "we're the unfiltered version" campaign IMHO.

Actually, RT ( a.k.a. Russia Today ) is Russian owned ... by a company called ANO-TV Novosti. It is apparently funded by the 'Federal Agency on Press and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation' ... i.e. Russian gov't money.

(snip)"In June 2011, RT responded to the criticisms that it is "state-run" by noting the official mission statements and funding of other well-known "state-run" television networks like the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), France 24, Germany's Deutsche Welle and the United States's Corporation for Public Broadcasting (which operates and provides funding for PBS and NPR). Margarita Simonyan told a reporter that the Kremlin would not dictate content (snip) from

I can find nothing regarding Fox News involvement with RT or any other Russian media. The only recent news item involving Fox News and another news organization was the recent ( failed ) buyout attempt by Fox parent News Corp toward Time-Warner ... which is the parent corporation of CNN.

As to your 'propaganda' comment, I wouldn't touch that with someone else's 10 foot pole !!! All I can safely say is that EVERY news organization has owners, financial sponsors, editors / producers etc. ... who are arguably able to exercise some degree of control regarding which news items will be reported versus which will not, who are arguably able to choose a particular 'framework' within which the facts of a story are presented, etc.
