Duh 100% NEW to dancing & all that comes with it! NJ & PA area

OK, so I am very new at this and am going for auditions on Tuesday.
I very rarely wear MAKEUP, but figured id go to the MAC store and get them to do it for me.
I never DANCED so thats going to be a little tricky.
The club manager said bring costume (would a bra & matching thong be OK?)
Im very uptight & its hard for me to loosen up..(i have a hard shell & its hard to break ;( )
What clubs are good to start at in the area?
    any pointers? anything will help!!

Ive been watching different videos to learn how to dance..

I don't know the specifics to your area so I'm no help there. However, that's a good idea to get MAC to do your makeup, and it's also a good idea to invest in quality makeup but AFTER you have made money and your bills are paid of course. A bra and matching thong are fine, but I'd check with the clubs specific rules to be sure that's ok. Just call the club and they can help you. Here at my club we have to wear a certain type of thong and certain managers frown upon your bum not being covered. I'd probably bring some boy shorts (or something similar) just in case.

It's seriously not as daunting as you may think to get on stage. It's one of those things that you just need to get up there and do then you'll look back at it and realize it was silly to get yourself so worked up. Some other advice I would give is to go in there as a customer if you can and just get an idea of how the girls dance on stage, but tip them of course.. Also, put on some music that makes you feel sexy at home and just dance in front of the mirror. I'll liken this to when I started modeling, I was given the advice to look at magazine ads with models and perfecting my different "faces".

    Good luck, you'll be fine!

There is a lot of really great information on here that will help you get started as a dancer. The basics are stickied at the top of Newbie Board, which s where you posted this. Read through all of those threads and you'll find all the pointers you need.

There are club reviews in the Club Reviews section and in Club Chat, so search for your area and you'll find out which clubs to try and get hired at and which ones to avoid. If there's nothing recent, you can always PM one of the ladies that posted a review and ask if she has an update. I get those every so often and am happy to reply.

    Good luck!

Go as a customer to your club(s) of choice to get a feel for things like dress codes, dance style, security, stage/private dance/VIP setup, prices, etc. Bring $$ to tip a dancer you like to give you the rundown of what it's like to work there. Time is $$$$ so you do not want to leave a girl w/ nothing after she's been good enough to spend 20min or however long explaining things! Also talk to mgmt at the club for specifics of what to wear -- thongs, heel hgt, etc. Sm places have a minimum legal heel hgt for example. All of these things will vary greatly by area. Mgmt will also be able to tell you abt any licences or whatever paperwork you may need to work, again, this will vary by area.

Spending sm time in the club as a customer can also help get you acclimated to the strip club environment. I know the first time I walked into a club it was pretty jarring. Re: 'loosening up' if you feel like you will need to have a drink or take smtg in order to 'loosen up' DON'T. Just bite the bullet & jump in sober. Can't stress this enough, anything you feel like you 'need' to be intoxicated to do it, then you probably shouldn't be doing it. There will be enough for you to worry abt w/o being goofy from alcohol or drugs, & many dancers develop very bad habits from having to have 'just a drink or two or five' at the start of the nite 'to loosen up or I can't function'

Otherwise, 2nding Adrienne26's advice & want to add, read thru the Newbie Board & Hustle Hut religiously, if you haven't started already.

If you're in Philly go to Daydreams. I always send n00bs there. It's nude but VERY n00b friendly. All the other clubs will chew you up and spit you out. The suburban clubs are generally n00b friendly as well.
