Well, I posted about 6 weeks ago that I was going to start waitressing at a club.... and (SHOCK) I'm going to start dancing at a Topeka club October 1st.
I enjoy the club environment, I'm great with the customers, I have figured out how to walk in the heels well, but I've seriously got to be the worlds worst dancer. I have been practicing at home, and stretching. I can't hardly touch my toes, I try and replicate floor work that I study girls doing at the club and my body just won't cooperate, I have no rhythm, I get mid-song and just run out of things to do, my transitions are horrible (on a good day), the list just goes on and on.
Not to mention my knees are completely black and blue from trying to crawl on them, and I pinch my toes when I'm on my hands and knees between the tip of the heel and the floor and it has got to be the most painful thing ever. Holy crap. Is this normal? How in the hell do I turn this into the magic that I see up on stage?
