“This means that even if you have never been arrested for a crime, if your employer requires you to submit a photo as part of your background check, your face image could be searched—and you could be implicated as a criminal suspect—just by virtue of having that image in the non-criminal file.”
It was going to happen sooner or later. To the girls who are wanting child care/government or medical vanilla jobs this isn't going to be the job for you anymore if you absolutely don't want to be found out. It really isn't now, but as tech progresses it'll be a simple google search with this tool implemented in it I bet lol. And google image search does pretty well for itself right now anyways.
That said, it does just generally creep me out. Like Google Glass. If I'm outside minding my own business I don't want some creep trying to ID me while I'm at the grocery store. I love high tech stuff, just not things that invade my privacy and I don't get a say weather or not I consent to it. The more that type of thing is released the more I want to live off the grid in a cabin deep in the woods.
Is this in the UK as well

I would point out that the nationwide FBI facial recognition database which is now being assembled is, in reality, just an incremental step beyond state by state facial recognition databases based on driver's license photos which already exist. Besides their obvious potential use for criminal record check purposes ...
- state professional licensing agencies can use these databases to check for 'unprofessional conduct' violations ( i.e. internet pics being turned up which show a teacher, nurse, etc. on a strip club stage or sporting a Hitachi on webcam ).
- high profile straight job employers can use these databases ( via professional background check services ) for similar purposes, creating a potential 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situation for dancers and camgirls including or omitting their 'adult' industry work history from straight job applications.
- 'bounty hunter' private agencies hired by state tax dept's can attempt to match up internet pics of 'strippers' and camgirls to tax returns filed ( or not filed ) by the person whose driver's license pic has matching facial characteristics.
- angry 'ex's' attorneys can potentially introduce into family court evidence your 'stripper' and/or camgirl activities.
IMHO the possibilities of facial recognition search technology far surpasses today's 'paper trail' ( i.e. 1099's issued by clubs / webcam hosts reporting payments made to 'strippers' and camgirls ) in terms of its future ability to 'out' an 'adult' industry work history to vanilla employers, family courts, state professional licensing agencies, etc.
There is a huge thread discussing the possible ramifications of facial recognition search technology in the Industry Insight forum ... see

How likely is this?
Most DMVs require that you do NOT smile for your license photo. You're not allowed to smile in passports either, or mugshots.
Any agency that wants to search you by your face will ask that you not smile, and the picture will be head on with hair tied back.
I highly doubt that it will match up to any regular photos online -- most of the time you're smiling in them and rarely, if ever, are the faces head on straight to the camera.

thats not really how it works though, it has to do with the geometry of your face, weird little ratios that are different for each human so smiling wouldnt really matter

So what your saying is..always take a pic like this when posting it on the Internet? Lmao! Joking![]()

despite mainstream news media reports about smiles, scientific studies show that smiling actually HELPS facial recognition software to achieve higher accuracy. See . Angry faces are even more 'helpful' than smiling faces !
And please don't ask me to explain EigenVectors !!!
What I'm told by a couple of 'acquaintances' is that, with today's available computing power, and today's refined algorithms, some of the early 'vulnerabilities' of facial recognition software ... like needing straight-ahead photos, the presence of hair 'confusing' data point capture, etc. ... are now pretty much a thing of the past. Today's algorithms may need 100 times as many EigenVector calculations to correct for images shot at an angle, but today's computers are also 100 times as fast !!!

I wonder does wigs and make up help? I always wear a wig when camming and also contour/highlight my face for bigger looking eyes, skinnier nose, things like that... but in all my real life photos i never have make up on and hardly ever have my hair done... do u think it makes a difference?

^^^ according to the various sources quoted in the Industry Insight thread at , wigs and makeup won't make any difference these days.
Computers and digital cameras don't suffer from the same 'psychological' factors as humans do ... like (mis) interpreting shadowed eyes as actually being larger than they really are. As long as a computer is able to determine proportional spacing of eyes, nose, mouth, chin, cheekbones, etc., the facial recognition software will be able to match up other facial images with the same proportional spacings.

This sucks...
I wonder if the reason why I don t get a call back after vanilla jobs interviews is cause they find out i work on cam...
I made a post about that here last yr and most girls said it was cause I was out of the " working world" for so long... and they might be right but since now they can check your credit report, your consumer report, reputation and what not I wonder if they found out I work on cam and that s why I can never get a regular job...

My grand plan to lose 100+ lbs and get my reconstructive jaw surgery will probably save my ass from this oneI'll have higher cheekbones, slightly larger lips, slightly turned up nose, and well, I'll be skinny, lol. Of course with the golden rule and symmetrics of my eyes, nose, and mouth... I doubt I'll fail. I have a friend who cams now but was a bbw porn star before she dropped about 150lbs, died her hair and looks nothing like her old self at all.

Unfortunately, you'll never really know the answer to this question. Short of bringing a sex discrimination / age discrimination etc. lawsuit against them, straight job employers are under no obligation whatsoever to explain the reasons they choose NOT to hire a particular job applicant.wonder if the reason why I don t get a call back after vanilla jobs interviews is cause they find out i work on cam...

Indeed, facial plastic surgery which affects the relative dimensions of facial features ... i.e. nose job, lip enhancement, cheekbone enhancement, etc. ... will throw facial recognition algorithms 'off the trail'. However, KEEPING facial recognition algorithms 'off the trail' will also require that no new adult industry oriented images / videos of the 'new you' will be created and added to searchable databases in the future. If they are, then a prospective employer who takes a picture of the 'new you' as part of a job application, or a prospective employer who is able to access your state driver's license database after you next renew your license, is going to wind up with the same facial recognition match.I'll have higher cheekbones, slightly larger lips, slightly turned up nose, and well, I'll be skinny, lol

I wouldn't call it plastic surgery but cosmetic dental surgery along with weight loss. And you are right, someone who cams/does adult after the change will most likely be found out but my plan is to get out of adult work before I get my surgery and losing weight (that's why I cam to pay it off). Also, I don't look like my cam character at all when the contouring make up, weave, contacts, all come off. I'm in the bbw fetish category so if I did lose weight before cam came to an end I'd have to start all over.
