    Default Getting into a routine/schedule?

I was just wondering how you peeps got yourselves into a schedule and found something that works for you?

Maybe a bit of a difficult question to answer, but I really struggle to stay consistent with my log in times and daily work routine because I have depression and anxiety- I've not been in any sort of routine for the past 3 years, unless you count lying in bed, watching netflix and eating take-aways 24/7 as a routine...

I'm wanting to work up to being able to work 30 hours per week, with at least 25 hours on cam and the rest given over to making clips, editing, social media etc. Currently I struggle to do even 7 hours per week, though this is made worse by the fact that my immune system is currently in the shitter and I'm sick all the time...

    ANYWAY any advice?

OK, honesty? No one can make you but you.

I feel you, I do. When you work from home (check!) and have an immune disorder (check!) which makes you feel lethargic and sick and gross (check! check! check!) it's easy to kick back and not work. As well as having crippling Crohn's disease, I'm also doped to the eyeballs on antidepressants and anti-psychotics so I feel for you, I do. I'm not going to give you advice because I don't know the ins and outs of your situation and what works for me doesn't work for everyone.

However, what makes me more depressed is having no money, and no sense of purpose. I was doing OK on cam, working around 8-10 hours a week and dicking around waiting for the money to roll in. Then, when I started reading through these threads and seeing that the reason the top earners earnt so much I was like "Duh. It's because they work harder and for longer than me."

I'm not into the whole "the universe will give this to you" bullshit. I think it takes the onus away from societal factors, and also individual ownership of actions.

Basically, if you want to do better, seek help for your illnesses, forgive yourself and work harder. Literally, sign on earlier and for longer.

    ^_^

Beauvoir hit the nail on the head. When you start reading on here and the girls making bank and pulling 10 hour days that usually does it for me.

I too suffer from bad anxiety and panic attacks for most of my life, although this doesn't affect me at home, it affects me when im out. But I do struggle and did struggle getting on cam. I was allot worse than I am now, I would cam random times and be so easy on myself and be like yeah I won't cam today I will just do it tomorrow etc. I seem to have formed myself a slight routine (although I am not as strict with myself as I would like to be) and I find myself logging on the same amount of hours a day around the same times.

Having no money is more than likely to increase your anxiety an stress levels. So by camming more = more money = covering all the bills on time and living comfortable. Also having no set routine can cause anxiety in itself, the uncertainty of what you're doing for the day. The only way to form a routine is to start a routine. Once you have performed that routine for a week or two, you find it becomes very natural and you automatically slip into it.

Sit yourself down with a piece of paper and for each day you wish to work (you may only choose 5). Set out your time routines. For example mine was (although changed it now)

    9am - Get up
9am-12pm - Get ready and do some bits for the day (cleaning, shopping etc)
    12-2pm - lunch
    2pm - 5pm CAM
    5pm-8pm dinner and break
    8pm-11pm - CAM

Sometimes would do a few hours more or less, depending on how I felt. But would always stick to that and would never allow myself to do less than 4 hours.

What really got me into a "schedule"( I dont really have a set 9-5 but I put in my 40 a week) was 2 things, 1. Regulars- I have guys who every day that I am on will take me private so every day I log on, guaranteed £50 and 2. I have a point of no return, for me once I make my bed I m not going to lie back down to ruin it so I have to get ready to work. First thing I do when I wake up it make my bed so even if I go out as soon as i open my room door " Bitch, did you work today!" is all I see. On a positive side note making your bed every day is a great way to start a routine.

Also when I first started to cam, I actually rented a room to cam from so every day I had to make 14 to pay for the room. So even if I would go and log on for an hour I made sure my rent was taken care of. Perhaps working outside the home or even making a permanent cam space might help

I just cam when I have the time. I have a vanilla job so whenever I'm not there I'm home on cam. You can do social media while on cam. It may be too hard on your computer to edit/record videos while on cam but you could do other things such as writing the descriptions for your content and screencaps/whatever else. I don't see why you can't eat and watch netflix on cam either. Do everything you can on cam. Shower? On cam. Sleep? (if it's not against the rules) on cam. When I work very few hours my placement and earnings suffer so just getting on and putting the time in, making a habit of that will help. You can read/write/make art/listen to music/do your nails whatever while on cam.
A mistake I would always make would be well my nails aren't done I can't get on until they are - but you can do that while on cam. Anything really. I also 2nd what scarletl said! Making a plan helps get you into the swing of things until it becomes a routine that you have memorized. Don't forget to take breaks even if they are only 10 mins.
If you are going to spend the day at home doing 'nothing important' anyhow then you might as well get on cam. Any time you don't feel like getting on cam, do something else that is still work but not so demanding. Upload photos or whatever content you can. Edit stuff/promote yourself. You may feel like crap but if you can manage to get on cam and make a bit of money, you will feel a lot less like crap. EXPECT the money and EXPECT to have fun! Don't *hope* you will. If you can go in with the right attitude you will feel better, but if you go on, and you already feel like a turd, the last thing that will make you feel better is a guy saying open boobs bb

If you currently struggle to do 7 hours a week, try this week to do 8. You can break it down. Maybe you want to work 1 -8hr day. (If you do this I'd recommend to choose the busiest day for you) Or you can work 2- 4hr days. Or 4 -2hr days. However you want to break it down. When you think of it that way it helps a lot! Once you get that down try for an amount of time that feels doable. Going from 7hrs - 30hrs must seem daunting. Some weeks I struggle to do 14hrs! We've all been there I think

If it means anything, I have netflix playing on mute (with subtitles on) when I am waiting for cam to pick up. I have two windows open on my computer. Boys can't hear when they enter my room and I don't have to give up Breaking Bad

I treat my cam 'job' like I treat a real job and how I treated university classes, if I don't wake up and go to work/class, I get fired or fail!

    Schedule!
    Now my schedule is:
Wake up, wash up, makeup and hair, slutty outfit, get on camera (which is already set-up from last night so I don't have to do anything other than turn on my computer and log in)
I stay on until I've hit my goal or until 4pm, because then I have other errands to do.

    Stay Motivated!
The entire time I'm on cam, I just focus on making that MONEY and keeping my FANS happy!
Those are my only two motivations and the only things I think about on cam.
    1) MONEY because obviously I need that cash flow. I have an Excel spreadsheet that I fill in every Sunday with how much money I made, and those numbers keep me pretty damn motivated.
    2) FANS because they love me and leave me more $$$ after I log off, and buy me wishlist crap that I can't justify paying for with my own money. Won't have fans if you don't stick to a schedule!

After I'm done with camming for the day, I don't worry or stress about it anymore or even think about tomorrow - I go about the rest of my day and do the things in my vanilla life that need to get done.

The more I think about camming (when I'm NOT camming) the more I stress about it - will I reach my goals tomorrow? What if I don't make enough this week? Is it even worth it to log on?
And by then I've convinced myself to not even bother logging in the next day - NOT GOOD!

Just don't even think about it - wake up, get on cam, finish at X o'clock or X goal, and don't think about it again. Rinse & Repeat.

Once you've gotten used to your schedule, you can spend time during the day thinking up new ways to make money, new sites to join, new clips and phone sex and photos you want to make.

If it's getting slow and you're getting discouraged, watch a movie on silent + subtitles, or (my preference) listen to music and watch the music video as it goes. (I make my own music video playlist via Youtube, load it up onto my tablet, and watch it if my room is empty.) Once the room starts getting full, I keep the music on in the background but don't watch the videos.

I used to have a schedule but the times that are busy always vary. Plus life gets in the way and I have to change when I want to come on sometimes. I split cam so that helps to reach goals faster.

I am currently working a vanilla job as well as taking camming seriously and trying to put the hours in. I am by no means a top model (yet) but I really hope to get there one day. I have found that literally the more time I put in, the better my earnings. That helps me. I put in 24hrs on SM one week and had my best week ever. The next, because I was burnt out, I put in about 10 and made almost nothing. I have added other eggs to my basket but cannot currently split cam so I need to keep myself on a tight, by the hour schedule if I am to fit in all the camming and vanilla work I have to do.

I suffer from seasonal depression, so in winter camming is impossible for me. I have however worked out my living situation so I only live in summer essentially. I also find that sticking to a healthy, sugar free diet is the only way that I have enough energy to do everything. As tempting as it is to eat badly in the name of camming, I know that one sweet will delay my wake up and make me crash on cam.

I currently do 24hrs a week on SM, 30hrs a week on AW and 24 hrs a week vanilla work. needless to say, if one thing messes up, I am screwed, however, as I said, I have top model status in mind and that is what keeps me scheduled and motivated.

maybe use the increase in financial freedom that you get from working those long hard hours to keep you motivated and keep your schedule going, because money does lift the mood no matter what

I understand how you feel, because I deal with health issues also.
I cam full time, but have learned from my own past mistakes that when I'm not feeling 'it', I should just wait to log on.
I do cam with a migraine,(but only if it's not o severe), a sore back, etc., but when I feel anxiety, or sadness, or irritation, I don't cam. I feel that guys can sense it, and I end up using my energy up, but not making much money.
I believe that taking 'baby' steps, will help you.
If You naturally feel the best in the mornings, or at night, or even afternoons, it's best to try to set a schedule to cam at those times.
I used to force myself to get on for 'morning wood', but I'm not a morning person anymore, so camming at night works best for me.
    Hope that helps.

    Oh and EXERCISE!

Exercise is great to boost your motivation and get you out of a slump - those endorphins rush in, you sleep better at night, and you feel fit!

And of course, you can keep your cam on (chaturbate or MFC) while you workout and watch that workout DVD! You don't even have to do anything, just work out at first to get guys watching, and after a few weeks you can set a tip goal for guys and you can tease them or strip to your undies/nude as the tips come in! You don't even have to pay attention to the guys really, just focus on the workout DVD and getting your workout done

And if you're like me and totally out of shape, there's really great low-impact aerobic workouts on Youtube as well - I really like this 'Walk at Home' workout with Leslie Sansone on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...y=walk+at+home

Heck, even when you are "eating take-aways 24/7 as a routine" you can make clips of that! There's a thread on here about the feeder fetish, and it's not just about getting fat, apparently it's also a fetish about keeping a girl well-fed or provided or whatever, convert those hours into $$$ girl!

I second that ^^ Great advice! And Simone mentioned SAD and trying to work in the winter is tough. Living in Canada means winter is literally half the year. I have plastic on my windows with thick curtains, luckily my cam room gets a ton of natural sunlight so that heats the room a bit. Also have rugs down on the floor and a heater in the room. And wear a lot of clothes which means longer time getting naked yay.
Working out on cam helps a lot! If I workout on cam or while filming a video and know that other people are watching it makes me go harder and actually get better results. If your body is tired from exercise, it can't hold onto as much tension that naturally builds up (such as in the back or neck). It warms you up, gives you a natural high, what could be better than that? Beats screwing myself nonstop!!
I can't put $$$ goals up, only time goals, if I focus too much on cash I discourage myself more cause I think oh I only got $_ in _ hours instead of putting a positive spin, so define it the way that is best for you. And to reiterate what Glamour said about get on when you feel your best - do that! If you like to stay up late and it works for you - do that. I cam in the mornings now and it has been great. The key for me has been to stay on a strict sleep time. I go to bed at the same time and turn off all devices in the room at 11pm. Then I close my eyes and attempt to sleep. If I can't I read or listen to music until I'm tired enough. I read before that if you try to change your sleep schedule too drastically too fast (any more time than 15 mins difference) it is hard on the body and will take at least 14 days of that before it sets in your body clock

Thank you so much for all of the advice! I'm going to get my room tidied, and rearrange it a bit so I can start following the Jillian Michaels DVDs a friend has lent me. I'm also going to write up a daily schedule and start working up towards that.

Really hoping to get it together!
