Default Okay I finally muster enough courage(are actually got off my lazy ass) to apply for..

... for a club as a waitress. Can anyone tell me, if being a waitress in a strip club beneficial in the tipping department? I mean, I know dancers can make more money, but I asking how well, does a waitress, or a bartender do when it comes to the strip club industry? I mean, is it worse than serving at regular restaurants, or better?Tipping wise I mean.

P.S. I would have asked to be a dancer, but I have had NO type of stripping experiences. I been a dancer all of my life, and taking a wide arrange of dance classes, but being that I actually worked in the restaurant business as a waitress I figured let me start there, cause I know how to handle customers, and actually talk to them as a waitress.

You don't need stripping experience to get hired as a stripper. Altho sm girls have athletic experience, from professional dance training of sm kind to high school sports, there isn't really anything that can prepare you for trying to work as a stripper, except maybe sm good sales training. So if you are actually interested in dancing, just hop into the deep end & start dancing.

That said, I can't really offer much insight into waitressing bc I've nvr done it in an SC & sucked at it outside of the SC. I would imagine it's not that much different, apart from handling VIP rooms (payments as well as service) as well as your tables out on the floor. Your exact setup & volume of responsibility will depend on the club.

As to tips, one thing I can guarantee will kill your tips is excessively insisting to dancers that they should ask for you when you think they have a well-paying customer. I have had waitresses outright beg or demand that I ask for them so they could get in on my sales, & it is the hugest turnoff for me. Also, different dancers have different sales approaches, & if they want your help in pitching smtg to the customer they will let you know. I have had sales made much harder, or even completely lost, bc of a well-meaning waitress butting in & pushing too hard or otherwise killing the mood. As you get established, if there are any dancers you end up friendly w/, then you can bring up the possibility of working together when she has a good customer.

I've been a server in SCs and the tips are okay, but the $ was nothing compared to dancing in my experience. I made a lot more when/if I was allowed to sell shots. So if you can be a shot girl I would recommend that over just serving. I don't know how it compares to serving in a restaurant as I've never worked in one. I averaged around $150 per shift (sometimes a little more, sometimes less) as a server. This was in a very high end club in Peoria, IL, mostly working nights/weekends.

$150/shift is considered a crappy day as a dancer, and also as a server I was not allowed to choose my own schedule or work extra hours if I needed to. Needless to say I soon went back to the pole.

For real? That's a good night to me as a former server. So maybe I should try both, and actually try serving in the club before I work my way to dancing .Hopefully strip club customers aren't to different from restaurant customers. Both the good, and the bad.

SC customers are more likely to be drunk, grab your ass, and want you to chat and flirt with them. Some will beg you for lap dances and hang all over you. I felt more objectified as a server than as a dancer! lol! Some dancers will be super rude and bitchy to you and feel like they can boss you around. To me, it just felt like all the same bullshit that comes along with dancing without the $$, especially when selling shots..but if you want to ease into the SC club scene it's a start, I guess.

Honey, If I give these dude's a lap dance while serving them their drinks, then they need to cough up some money, or I will keep it moving. And I am use to bossy bitchy ass people(just last week my supervisor caught an attitude with me last week,& being the person I am, I was about to cuss the bitch out). or is bossy,& bitchy have a different meaning in the strip club industry? ?

P.S. For all the ladies reading this message, I know it's random as hell to just mention this out the blue, but from my experience from working in the food industry for a hot minute now, and talking folks who are very heavy in that field, please do NOT eat at buffets, eat salads out restaurants, and definitely don't eat at salads bars.Leave ALL those things ALONE!

In any club I've been in, a server initiating any kind of physical contact other than a one way arm touch was a HUGE no-no. Including lap dances. If dancers think you're moving in on their money without having to do stage sets or pay house fees, they won't be happy. I recently waitresses and averaged about $80 a night. I was good at it, and enjoyed it, but I've moved on to dancing. I would skip trying to serve unless you are specifically NOT wanting to be a dancer.

^ exactly. in most clubs, servers do not give lap dances. shot girls do the little boobs-in-the-face thing but other than that, no…now massage girls is a different story, at least the club i'm in now they are allowed to do vip. waitresses ime don't make anything like dancer's do, guys will give them around a dollar or two for every drink..so unless its busy, that's peanuts. i'm thinking that waitresses in good restaurants might make more than lot of strip club ones. i would really just go straight into dancing if you want to make good money!!

^Maybe I was unclear in my wording...Guys might beg you for lap dances but please don't give them! lol! That's a sure fire way to piss off every dancer and get fired. We had one waitress fired for sitting on custies' laps and flirting with them. The dancers complained and she was canned.

It really depends on the club. In WA state, I banked as a waitress, because we'd sell ladies drinks for the dancers, which helped pay their house fee. In one club, there was a mandatory waitress tipout. $150 was a shitty night and I could easily go home with $300-400 on a weekend from customer tips and dancer tips.

I started as a waitress at my current club and... $50 is mad waitress bank there. Waitresses are also encouraged to do lap dances and CR dances, but had to pay house and a 20% tipout as a non stage dancer (it's 10% for stage dancers.) After a few weeks and the fact that my hourly paycheck didn't even begin to cover the extra 10% I was paying, I quit waitressing. Had I not started as a waitress, I never would have danced. I got comfortable with the idea and was able to have a safety net, while I gauged how successful I could be as a dancer. There were also some dancers who taught me some pole tricks and stage moves, which helped with my comfort level.

Give it a try, see how comfortable you feel and see if you can go in and try dancing for a shift or do an amateur night. Keep in mind that it'll be a lot harder if a license is required.
