Is it okay to wear jewelry with outfits nothing real or expensive but some costume jewelry to make you stand out ? Or is this not done?

of course you can wear jewelry! i love hoop/dangly earrings, and necklaces for work ( i have a huge thing for chokers, maybe a little retro but i think they are soo sexy). what kind of costume jewelry are we talking about though?

I feel sexy wearing a longer necklace or a few bangley bracelets while on stage if I'm dancing nude of course :p

^ just keep it light and sexy, nothing that will get in the way of dancing or pinch you/pull on your neck/be uncomfortable and no jewelry that looks like its wearing YOU haha. just my advice, but wear what makes you confident

One thing I can say from personal experience: avoid small-bead bracelets, esp if you do pole work! Even simple spinning combos can get the bracelet caught between your wrist & the pole, then it only takes a little tug to have beads go everywhere! Little scattered beads all over the stage can be a safety hazard.
Necklaces are much less problematic unless you are doing advanced polework, but occasionally I have had a necklace tangle w/ the neck strings of my top & break when I try to pull them apart. When I wear necklaces at work I like choker-style ones w/ a short tie or clasp to avoid them getting caught in my clothes or hair.
A statement cocktail ring on each hand can not only look trendy but make a handy weapon if a customer gets too aggressive. I would recommend against wearing nice rings if you do polework since they can get scratched or have stones knocked out.
I also made a cloth bracelet thing to cover the tattoo on my left wrist. I sewed it from sparkly dark fabric that had a little stretch to it, & fastened w/ a button. No risk of getting caught & destroyed from the pole, the dark fabric could be worn w/ any of my outfits & it hid a tattoo that ppl could recognise me by OTC. So that's another possibility if you're good w/ a sewing needle.

I second Aniela about the beaded jewelry. Otherwise, have it!
With experience, you will learn what jewelry does and does not work for you. I've worn longer necklaces on slow nights before, but they just get in the way if I'm doing floor/pole work. Overall, I prefer chokers for that reason. I don't like wearing hook earrings of any type because they have a habit of falling out for me. Bracelets are generally a no-go, rings can vary, etc. You won't really know except through trial and error.
Exotic dancing is like any other job.If you work in an office, you wear dress shoes and a suit.If you work in a restaraunt, you wear skid resistant shoes and a uniform. If you work in a strip club, you wear 7" stilettos and lycra g-strings.

I wear a little jewelry here and there. One thing I do remember is customers getting annoyed if bracelets or necklaces were too jingly or distracting in some way.
I like jewelry but I stay away from big long necklaces cause they always hit customers if there too long and I am trying to give a dance, putting boobs in face, etc.
Just don't wear anything that you'll cry over if it's lost/stolen/broken. Why wouldn't it be ok to wear jewelry?

lol at my old club we HAD to wear jewellery; necklace, earrings and bracelet

I wear a couple of stretchy rhinestone bracelets from Charming Charlie. They add to my "expensive" look, and they're not loose so they don't get caught or make annoying jangle noises.
I second not wearing any long necklaces, you don't want to get tangled up or whacked in the face if you do a pole trick.
"People jack off with the left hand and point with the right."
"You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave."

I love jewelry, the more rhinestones the better. I found out from experience do not wear long necklaces with heavy pendants. Nothing is quite as horribly surprising as seeing the look on a customer's face when your chunk of agate hits him in between the eyes.

I wear delicate, simple necklaces, small earrings, bracelets that don't jingle/slide and rings that I can take off before I go on stage.
