So I logged on my private facebook this morning, and it was suspended. I have no idea how long my account was suspended because I'll check it like once a week. I like to keep a low profile on social media. They said because the name I used is a fake name and needs to be changed to my legal name or prove that name given already is my LEGAL NAME. I wish not to put my real name for obviously privacy. I literally have zero information. Only used to see my family photos and to stay in contact with high school/college friends.
I thought nothing of it, and just changed my last name to Smith.
Then I saw this:
Even though this is hitting hard on the Drag community, it still effects others. Like sex workers. Some of which use facebook to advertise, sell content, and communicate with fans/customers.
Although I do not wish to use facebook for work, I have a personal one that I wish to keep my real full name off the internet. I was effected with the policy. (If you are not familiar with Facebook's policy: https://www.facebook.com/help/112146705538576)
Google changed their real name policy this summer. http://www.slate.com/blogs/future_te...me_policy.html
Mentioned in the above video is a petition.

. I believe phone sex operators and virtual sexworkers from Second Life do not have it as bad as cam models or strippers when it comes to the real name thing. However, if strippers and cam models have an virtual avatar then they can get around this stupid name thing.
