    Default Specific shifts

How well do you ladies take to being on a certain shift when you get hired at a club? I.e day shift, night shift. I personally think it defeats the purpose of being a dancer. Being a stripper should provide more freedom. It's not a 9-5 and we don't get pay checks. And we are independent contractors. What does being put on a certain shift mean to u?

Yeah, my club schedules us for certain shifts and if we miss, we are charged per day! There's no independent contractor stripper union that I know of, so we really can't do much about that unless we want to start one. Which I'm not really sure how to do or even if it's legally possible?

I think scheduling is ridiculous if the club has high earning potential and lots of dancers, but I understand why scheduling happens at a small club. I don't like being told what to do, and I'd never work at a club that wouldn't let me work certain days, but I suppose I really don't mind being scheduled in the long run because I can always pay for it when I don't want to work.

I don't like being told what time I can come to work. That's why im a stripper. To be free to come in when I please. I've actually been working at a club since may. I just went in around 9:40 and I'm now all of a sudden on day shift, which meant I couldn't clock in until midnight. In the almost 5 months I've been working there I've never been told I was on a shift, and I've come in at anytime I pleased. I was actually just there yesterday.. I know it's not my weight or appearance. Why all of a sudden a shift change?

LV seems to have its own bizarre sect of rules where managers shuffle girls from shift to shift with no real reasoning, usually on what's probably just a manager's whim... maybe someone who's worked at your club can provide some insight, I know there are several girls here who work Rhino/Sapphire and the smaller clubs.

I've never been told I HAVE to work day or night shift. I have had clubs want to require me to work *a* day of my choice in addition to nights but that's just because they need girls and there's no incentive to do it otherwise. I've also had one club tell the girls they all had to work 2 of the shitty days (either night or day shift) in order to work Thurs-Sat... again because of lack of girls Sun-Weds. Sometimes they tie you to a specific shift because they have too many girls on another shift at the time you got hired. I wouldn't think too much into it as far as your personal appearance or anything. For all you know, they got complaints that not enough hot girls were working the midnight shift (I'm trying to think positive here!)

Edit to add: I do agree that it defeats part of the point of stripping. When a club starts telling me what time I have to be there at or how long I have to stay, I'm out. I'm not gonna pay tipout/house to work AND let you tell me a schedule, hell no... THAT makes me feel like I'm being pimped.

Thanks for the positivity Selina ! Not to start the whole race thing but in the 2 only clubs that's require me to work a certain shift, I notice a lack of black girls on th prime shift....... Really makes me think dancing isn't the thing for me.

I'm on a shift there also. And until last night that was the only club that ever put me on a shift. Last night happened at treasures of all fucking clubs. I'm only hired at one other club so far. No shift but I hate the management. So it's like wtf do I do now. Treasures says I can clock in anytime before 5pm or after midnight. I usually try to get to work by 9:30, 10... So this is frustrating.

You can't choose your own schedule? We're just required to work (any) three shifts we want, for 7 hours. It's not bad. I like to always come in at the same time/days every week. Sometimes management will ask us to come in on a slow day and give us free house or something, but it's not required. I did apply at one club that required at least 2 dayshifts and I laughed in the manger's face and walked out. Nope, nope, nope.

My club limits how many black girls can work each shift -- so there's a max that can be scheduled during the day and night each day. They also limit some girls to day shift, usually because of their size, but sometimes just because the night manager doesn't like their look. Some of the day girls also have to leave right at 5pm, instead of being able to stay until 9pm as you technically can on our day shift. Otherwise, we can work when we please as long as we do a 5 hour minimum. They prefer us to make a schedule, but as long as you call out if you won't be showing up, it's all good, and it's often easy to just pop in and work.

If your club is limiting your shifts and it's affecting your income, sadly your only real options are to suck it up and deal or to leave and find another club that gives you more freedom.

Hey don't knock the Rhino day shift. Rock it! I specifically got hired for day shift at that club. They asked me to work nights and I said no. I personally hate working nights anyway and would rather be sleeping (ummm wrong profession I guess) but anyways....there are bad days yes but lots of potential and less girls to deal with. I always made money during the day there.

I've never worked at Treasures so I can't really say. The first time I was hired at SR it was 2:30 shift, after leaving and being rehired they put me on days and late nights. I agree with the other posters, it was probably some manager with a hair up their ass about something or another. I saw what happened to you happen to a girl about 2 weeks ago, she thought she was hired on nights by one manager and another manager said no and she sat and waited in the DR until early morning shift started. Bounce around, that's the beauty of Vegas and I'm not sure what your hustle is like but don't underestimate Las Vegas day shifts, they can be lucrative, there aren't as many girls, and a lot of day shift girls are chill IMO.

I mean I guess midnight isnt bad. According to the manager treasures doesn't pick up until late any way. I more so think my feelings were hurt about being on a shift. Of all the clubs I worked at only rhino put me on a shift. I expected it at the rhino. Unless I want a regular job I guess I gotta suck it up and make the best of it !
