I'm sure there's a thread on this and certain things posted in this forum have already been stated,
but I've been really proud of myself and the way I've handled this job for the past couple of months...and I'd like to share my tips on how I didn't lose my mind this time around
A.) A consistent schedule.
I've created a schedule working two shifts. 4PM-8PM, 9PM-1AM ; 5 days a week.
After doing this schedule for the past couple of months, my income is pretty steady. I know I can make a certain amount during each of the shifts, and the same members continue to reappear. During the first year of camming, I would pretty much log on, "Whenever I felt like it."
I would always be dejected and wonder, "Why aren't my regulars here?" "Why am I not making any money?"
Well. I figured it out. Obviously, customers would like a reliable girl that will be on when they expect you to be. I rarely skip a shift, and I'm rarely late. Everything has improved because of that.
B.) No money goals.
I know I stated that I can pretty much rely on making a certain amount during a shift, but I don't beat myself up about it if I don't hit it. Why? Everyday isn't going to be great. Some days, I'll make less then I'd like to, but if I put in the 8 hours, I feel good about it anyways. It makes the customers believe that I'm not JUST there to make a crapload of money and can still enjoy my time with them. I've noticed that certain days will be less, certain days will be more ; and that makes up to an average of X amount per week, equaling a happy Lils.
C.) Shutting off "Work Mode."
During my shifts, I'm in complete work/hustle mode. Once I'm done, the computer goes off, I don't dwell about my day, and I continue about my everyday life. There is no reason to "Live, breathe, and eat" camming. There is no reason to do that, and I noticed I started to go crazy after awhile because it was ALL I would do.
Enjoying your time off cam is completely essential because it keeps you in a better mood and you appreciate the things you love even more.
D.) Splurging on Self-Confidence
Well. Pretty self explanatory.
In a days work, just think about HOW MANY PEOPLE think/tell you you're "pretty." "hot." "gorgeous." "beautiful." etc. Sure, it gets annoying when most of them are freeloaders..but imagine if you kept a tally chart of how many compliments you get in a day?
Think about how many compliments a person would get, lets say for example, working at McDonalds.
This job is an epic ego-booster because your income partially relies on how you look. So..if you're making money..think, "Wow. I made $___ because I'm hot and got paid to be it."
