Default How to Become a "Famous Stripper"??

    Hi everybody,
I've gotten into dancing when I was 18 and I really like it (Im 20 now) and was curious to know how I could become a famous career stripper. Like getting followers and being able to travel and be headlining and things like that. My Stats are 5'4'' 145 34C 28 38. African American but I get called alot of things XD. Ive Danced In North Carolina, South Carolina and Atlanta so far at some black clubs but mostly mixed clubs. What are the steps I should be looking at to becoming famous? Should I be looking at getting a manager to promote me? Going to Bigger/Blacker clubs? Changing up my look? Can I Even become famous with my look. (I'1390697302207.jpg20140312_200916.jpg20140307_203257.jpgm told I look very young/childish)

Make pornos. Not to be mean but you would have to tone your midsection (I carried my weight there too so I understand). The days of a stripper getting booked as a headliner without porno and magazine credits is pretty much non existent.

I plan on kicking all of this extra weight to get to my stripper size over the winter... Is there any other ways?

Not really anymore. The closest I've seen lately are traveling strippers (strippers who go from club to club)but not many clubs do that because why pay when they can usually find locals? Strippers are a dime a dozen and outside of pornos, and to a lesser extent the various contests (Nude World etc but can be competitive) there aren't many other ways. I looked into this myself when I was much younger and it is super competitive.

Probably get some surgery done, the only black dancers who I know are big like that are urban dancers (jhonny blaze, miracle watts, gigi) and they all have obviously had work done. Luckily, youre still young so you have time to invest in all of that if youre really serious. I saw a pic of miracle before she looked how she does now, and she was very basic looking, gym, surgery and and make up does wonders

Sadly the era of the "feature dancer" is basically over... without doing porn, etc, it's pretty tough to get booked as a headliner. There's agencies that deal with that, but the money is nothing like it used to be. Where I work, feature dancers can expect about $2500/week of stage pay out of a club, plus whatever tips and sold promo, which sounds great until you remember that we're expected to show up with a suitcase full of costumes worth at least $1000 each.

Also, all of the feature dancers I've worked with have been insanely skilled in a variety of performance stuff- insane pole dancers, fire shows, huge costumes, fans, flags, etc. If you don't really have a unique skill as a performer, most clubs are packed with hot girls they can put on stage for free.

If it's just the travel aspect you're looking for, figure out where you want to go and start contacting clubs. You'll have more options traveling as an experienced dancer than trying to "sell" yourself to a club to be booked. Remember that becoming a "famous" stripper means there's a lot more stuff out there to follow you in your future career, etc as well.

When I was very thin, my waist had the same measure but my stomach was flat and very toned. I happen to have a short waist and broad rib-cage. What if the OP has the same "problem"?

Never mind, the OP is 5'4", I'm almost 5'10".

Jay12 even at my skiniest my stomach has never went down. I have gotten a six pack and been sculpted, but i have a short torso as well. I used to take dance class when I was younger and my teacher said something didnt look right until she measured my whole body and realized my ribs end about an inch before my waist... not much area to slim that down XD

Start a YouTube channel, and promote yourself heavily on Social Media. Try to find yourself at the center of some kind of scandal, like Belle Knox. Run for Mayor of Toronto. Write a hit movie screenplay (Juno). Get notoriety by exchanging tweets with a famous person like Charlie Sheen or a famous politician like Anthony Wiener. Try to get yourself in front of news cameras when ever possible.

I do too, but there is a difference between that and a thick waist. The waist can be trimmed, whether it's by watching what you eat or doing cardio. It may not be thin but it can go in a bit. I carried my weight in that area and I had to watch that area carefully. I also have a very short waist and long legs. If it is impossible to have it somewhat slim means the person may not have a successful career. it sucks but this industry wants women in a certain shape. It's partly why I often struggled in this industry. The OP says she has a 28 waist. That can be trimmed by watching what she eats (sugars make it bloat)along with cardio (gets rid of the fat)and crunches (tones the abs).

When I lived in southeast Virginia, all the better known strippers in the area were super active on Facebook and twitter. They be posting pictures of them doing pole tricks, with new outfits and had a schedule with all their performances.

In that area money is not very good, but it's easy to make a name for yourself.

I'm not a stripper, so I'm not as familiar with this as some of the other ladies, but I know a girl who started making her name in porn and now she is a headlining stripper in Vegas... my suggestion would be, yes, porn, and also getting some sort of manager to start working with you. I think it's still possible, just not as likely to become some super famous stripper, but you'd need idk... an agent, marketing manager, etc. to help you start branding yourself. Once you have that brand going and followers, I'm sure you could get more of that "household name" you are in search of!

If you don't want to do porn, sign up to model for suicide girls and gods girls (they never have enough black girls), promote yourself on social media as others mentioned, Youtube vlog and get youtube famous. Also if you have any interest in dressing up or nerd culture, you could try doing cosplay and promoting yourself at Comic Cons or making cosplay clips on Clips4Sale. Cosplay/Comic cons is also very saturated with white girls and not nearly enough black models.

I dunno.. OP doesn't look huge to me based on her single body pic. Sure her waist is a little thicker, but based on her measurements I'm sure she has relatively narrow hips and a big bubble butt. Her legs are probably pretty muscular because they don't look flabby. Yeah it would be cool if her ribs and hipbones allowed for a teensy waist, but I've known a lot of dancers (albeit not celebs) who have worked her body type (assuming she has that bubble butt) and banked.

I'm only an inch taller and usually weigh about the same. I'm a few pounds heavier than I like now, but at 140ish and 39-27-38 I've been able to work and compete at each of the high end clubs in NYC I've bothered to try. Even last week when I was at my all time heaviest in NYC and feeling insecure I banked. I know a lot of old school dancers think we should all look like the 90's ideal, but times are changing. I can think of literally two times staff members in six clubs in Manhattan have referred to me as thicker, and only one was a snarky. But that has happened to girls my height who weigh 115 as well. Maybe I'm just super out of touch with "acceptable" beauty ideals, but do you guys all think Christina Hendricks is a cow or something? Most men I know would die to fuck her, even after she takes off her spanx. Sometimes I want nothing to do with certain corners of SW. Despite one of the most competitive cities and most of its clients having no problem with me whatsoever, y'all would.

To get back on topic, all I know about is the old school feature dancer model that other posters have referred to. I can also confirm it's dead unless you're a porn star, and it's a lonely life on the road.

Are there any clubs in NYC you could reccommend for me to try out?? Pm me if you dont want to put it on here.
I just want to be able to make real cash and it seemed like the only way to do that would be to get famous. Hell if no one knows my name and Im still pulling 900+ a night I could Care Less

OMG, do yourself a favor and DON'T listen to the people telling you to lose weight. You look great! You're muscular and your body fat % looks healthy.

Social media is what you wanna do if you're trying to promote yourself in the black/urban scene. You're in the right area for sure.

Cosplay and nerd culture is actually a great idea if it's something your interested in. It's a huge untapped market for woc.

If you're just concerned with bringing home more $$$, focus on your hustle and be patient. It takes several years and generally the highest earners are in their late twenties and up.

Thank you! I hate how people can manage to turn every thread into one about weight and fat shaming, the world doesn't revolve around a fucking scale and tape measure. And if someones' does, I feel majorly sorry for them.
OP-I'd go the modeling route instead of porn if I were you. I've heard bad things about SG though, so stick to GG.

I'm a fat nazi and I think she looks fine. Muscle weighs more than fat. I prefer the hair in the second picture as opposed to the first though.

you have a great body! i also suffer from short-waist and narrow hips ( my rib cage ends where my waist starts) my waist is never going to nip in. and i prefer to be healthy rather than starve myself just for that, you have to work with the hand you were dealt. you also have a gorgeous face!! i have nothing to add with the whole getting famous thing because others have already given you great suggestions, but please don't feel that you need to lose weight to do all that.

Also want to mention that my old boss was a very successful feature dancer back in the day. Even at the height of that industry, her agency represented dancers of all shapes and sizes, from Playboy hot to thicker girls to midgets. The latter was obviously more of a novelty act, but you could be successful without a Baywatch body back in the day too. And now tastes are rapidly skewing thicker.

I dunno about Stilletto AC, but I remember when I worked in North Jerz the Stilletto branch up there was known for only hiring girls with the super skinny/tan/implants Barbie look...aka you wouldn't fit their requirements no matter how lean you got because of your bone structure and overall appearance.

Funny side note-the other night I was watching some dumb movie with my boyfriend that involved a strip club scene, with generic models playing the dancers. Boyfriend goes, "those girls don't even look convincing, they're too skinny. All the strippers I've met are jacked, these girls look like they don't move their bodies much ever."

Entering/winning competitions (do feature shows at your club, or other clubs for practice and to get yourself out there) and getting your pic/name into magazines is the first stepping stone. Social media is also useful, free PR and you can promote yourself via instagram etc
