If she is determined enough, she will find a way to go & do it regardless of what we tell her to the contrary. Wouldn't you rather we advise her on how to go abt it safely, rather than essentially say 'don't bother, since you're too much of an idiot to figure out a taxi ride'?
This industry in general isn't a swimming pool, it's a fkng shark tank. Most girls give it up in a few months bc they can't deal, & many of them have a lot more life experience than the girl you're knocking. She will either grow up fast, adapt & succeed, or not. Maybe she will go & audition, chicken out on her first shift & nvr come back, or she will re-visit the idea in another couple yrs. But a little support goes a long way towards keeping your sanity & avoiding bad situations, & that's why she got the answers she did.

I am not knocking anybody. Some people just happen to be more mature than others when they are 18.
Later on things usually even out.
"This industry in general isn't a swimming pool, it's a fkng shark tank."
There are some even more extreme industries.
I recently saw a video of a woman - MMA fighter who got kick in the head that permanently disfigured her face and ended her career.
In her interview she encouraged girls to go into to sport to break through the fear of being into the cage ...
Yanno, there's a reason that thread was in Industry Discussions, which as it says in a rather large font, is for Female Dancers, Ex-dancers, and Dancers To-Be ONLY.
Why did you feel the need to start a new thread to comment on a clearly very stressed out lady looking for some support and advice? You don't know her circumstances; maybe she doesn't have (m)any other options, and us telling her to basically gtfo out and wait a few years to decide if she should dance certainly won't help.

OK - moderator - please delete this thread.

Apples & hand grenades here, buddy. No one was telling her to hop into a cage & (literally) beat or get beaten. If your only 'tie' to this industry is being a customer w/ (or w/o) 'a few good dancer friends' I don't think you're in a position to make judgments abt the stressors dancers face at work.
I can't speak to that MMA fighter's logic bc Idk who she is, or her story.
Kinda like, as Shanna pointed out, you don't know the circumstances of the girl who started that thread -- nor can you accurately predict from the few posts she's made here how she will adjust to the SC environment.
