Question Wig help - which one is better?

My hair is really short and I am wondering if longer hair would help my money any.

That said, it's been over 10 years since I've had long hair, and I've never even danced with long hair so I kind of feel like I'm in over my head here, lol

For what it's worth my style flips back and forth from punk/goth bombshell to punk/goth naughty dolly so I don't know which one I like most, or which one would look better ITC. They're both about $50.

Honestly if I could find one, I'd get a blonde Bettie Paige wig, or at least one with the blunt fringe but for whatever reason I can't find one, so these are my two contenders:

This one is the one I think "Bombshell" when I see it

This one is more "fun" but still sexy, right?

    Please help?? thank you

I like the very first one. However, I purchased a Gothic Lolita wig last year, and it was absolutely unwearable. It was horrible. I wrote a negative review for it (twice), and they refused to process it, so all the reviews on their site are likely paid for.

Honestly - I don't really like any of them..they look way fake.
There's an article in Allure Mag..it compares Raquel Welch, Chris Brinkley, Wendy Williams, Sherri Shepard, Vivica A Fox, & Joan Collins wigs. It's the May 2014 issue, it maybe online @ allure.com.
There's also some more threads about wigs too.

^Yeah, while I like the cut of the first one, if you're looking for a vaguely realistic looking wig, Gothic Lolita is not the place to go. I would not even wear the shit I got for Halloween. I got one in the white blonde shade too, and it was just awful.

Thank you for your honesty whirlez. Just curious, do you think/know if customers mind fake-looking vs realistic? And are we talking in terms of quality or pass-ability? (like a wig that looks like a broom vs. a wig that looks way too thick to be real hair) All of my regs are going to know it's a wig anyways since they've only ever seen me with it super short...

A few months ago I had super fake blonde pigtails that I tied over my own and I got dances back to back that night, I thought they honestly looked like shit (the hair was straw-like, they were too long, and not even the same shade as my blonde, also they were so thick there was no way they were my real hair) but I was so tired and bored of my own hair that I was willing to try anything lol

So I don't know if I got dances because of or in spite of the hair...

I'll check out Allure, I really want to find a blonde Bettie wig!!

Thanks tuesdaymarie - I appreciate the quality report for Gothic Lolita, I had a suspicion that the picture they showed wasn't of the actual wig for some reason.

Well, really you want to look your best..as far as the pigtails you wore, that was blended w/your own hair, even if not matching, still your (real) hair is in there.
So. Wigs look fake cause they're too shiny. There's a metal tool you buy, looks like a whisk you cook with, you beat it w/that to get out the shine.
Also, most wigs are way too thick, so you should get them professionally thinned/trimmed. A lot of wigs are just cheaply made, so no matter what, they're just not gonna look good.
Also, check out Ebay, I've heard good things about some of the wigs there.

Those both look very fake and plastic. I've seen this quality IRL and it looks hideous. Go to a local beauty supply store and buy a better one.

I've seen lots of ladies with horrible wigs make money, so although those wigs are fake looking, I don't think they would hurt your money. There's a chick at my club right now who hears a horrible purple bob wig that all the other dancers make fun of, and although she's not a top earner, she's certainly not the lowest earner despite it.

Fake long blonde hair is more universally appealing to customers than short hair. You may get negative comments from your fellow dancers, but the customers probably won't care/notice. Besides, the wig is only $50, so if you find it does end up hurting your money, it's not like you've made a huge investment so it's no biggie to never wear it again.

on the fun side I'll throw in to say unrealistic colours like aqua and violets and such like that can do amazingly well too if your looking for a theme or to do something character like- to which id say just for fun look at places like epic cosplay ( cosplay wigs in general tend to be done with pretty good fibers that can take a lot of abuse because they get worn, styled, restyled etc so often for conventions and such" they tend to have natural hues too but most commonly off colours since its more focused on a fantasy like mindset

Ok I secretly was going to go ahead and get the dolly wig since it's only $50 and it's kind of my fantasy hair, and find a nice respectable wig in the store just for results comparison.

My style is a bit different anyways - I've definitely worn stuff the other girls laughed at for good reason, and some stuff they laughed at and I banked in (the tutu, for example, the guys thought was HOT, the high-waisted panties, no lol)

I just have to try it...

And the whole reason for me even asking this, is one of our girls who is SMOKING HOT recently cut her hair super short and she said she could notice a drastic difference in her money - people wouldn't come to her stage, and weren't getting dances.

She went out and got a $50 pleaser wig that she thought looked completely fake and bad and all this, and sure enough her stage fills up and dances like crazy. She was talking to a female custy who kept saying how gorgeous her hair was, I just wish I could run my fingers through it blah blah (no contact club)

So seeing HER - who is way hotter than I am - lose money over short hair, really made me wonder what my potential might be if my hair were longer. When I very first started I got told by the club I couldn't work there because I had a mohawk, so I wore a wig one of the girls gave me which was pretty short and honey blonde and curly (think Foxy Cleopatra) and I always banked, but back then I never thought it had anything to do with my hair.

I've worn this one in blonde and it was realistic enough for the club.
