    Default Indy HELP

I've been searching for threads on the basics of going Indy, but I just can't find any about an Indy ''starting point''. I currently work with SM (have been forever) and I have managed (in the past) to get some indy curtsies from there, but it's risky and I'd rather be on the safe side getting them on my own.
I'll be making a Twitter to promote, but that's the only thing I can think of to do.

I know Paypal is a no-no ...what else can I use to charge customers?

    Where do I start? :/

There's a ton of great information on Loveshooks's blog here: http://camsexwithquinn69.com/informa...kype-camgirls/

Also, here's the indy section of CurvyWinona's awesome bookmarks list, which has a list of helpful threads here on SW: http://curvywinona.blogspot.no/2014/...f7942e0ad#Indy

I just started doing indy a few months ago, so I feel you on the lack of resources for the indy beginner. I think a lot of indy involves trial and error, and seeing what works for you.

In terms of how to charge for indy, I highly recommend loveshooks' website, http://LiveCamModelShows.com. It's really user friendly, pays weekly, and has the highest percentage in the industry as far as I know (80% if you make less than $100 in the week, 85% if you make $100+ that week). There's a thread about it (where I asked about a thousand questions, lol): https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...ndent-Camgirls
She also has some info pages that you might find helpful on the site, as well as here: http://camsexwithquinn69.com/informa...kype-camgirls/ and here: http://quinn69.com/info-for-skype-cam-girls/

I'd also recommend http://www.CamModelDirectory.com. They are a bit less user friendly, but not terrible, and offer pretty decent exposure. They pay 75% on your first $500 of the month, and then 80% on anything you make over $500. The thread for CMD is worth reading cover to cover, because you can pick up some good general tricks and tips there: https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...odel+directory

Other than that, I'd say just try to build your web presence as quickly as you can. I kinda hate Twitter, but it's a good tool. You don't have to have thousands of followers or anything, but if you use it regularly, its an easy way for people to find you because Google seems to love Twitter. If you google my cam name, the very first thing that comes up is my Twitter, so I use it to direct people to my indy stuff as much as possible. It's basically impossible to look at my Twitter without knowing that I offer Skype shows, and where to buy them. For me, the main point is to make sure that if people want to find me, they can. Several of my best custies have switched over to indy shows without me ever saying a thing about it, just because they googled me, and my indy info was basically right there.

I think this is probably optional when you're first starting, but I built myself a blogsite, which I later converted to a proper website under my cam name. I don't sell anything there, but it has a bunch on info about me and what I offer, as well as photos and a blog. It's heavily biased in favor of indy camming (although I do have links and info for for SM and my other sites, too). It seems to be popular with guys that find me on LCMS and CMD, and would like to get to know me better before buying.

Sorry, I don't have much other solid advice, since I'm still finding my way with indy and testing stuff out, too, but I hope that helps to get you started.

    ^^^thanks for the recs y'all

regarding branching out into indy, I think success really boils down to 4 key elements: patience, tenacity, work ethic and killing it each and every time you get on cam.

Patience because it takes time to build a really lucrative base of regular clients, tenacity and work ethic because you have to put the work in before you'll really start seeing the $$$$$$$ results, and killing it each and every show because without regulars you can't have a thriving indy business. the volume of indy traffic just isn't high enough to really bank with them.

Indy is about cultivating a client base, creating a brand and building something for yourself, for your own benefit. How many other businesses can you start with literally no $$$$ investment other than sweat equity? I LOVE indy for that. Off cam work is a vital element in success; every successful indy chica I've seen promotes themselves online. Mlle Hoohah (I adore your sw name btw, it cracks me up) is bang on about twitter. I detest, abhor, loathe twitter but that ish works so I swallow hard and do it.

Back when I lived in a big city instead of a postage stamp-sized island I did quite a bit of offline promotion as well to good effect.

In terms of payment processing if you want to get your own merchant account instead of using a listing site the top options are CCBill, Epoch and Verotel. Each have an 85% payout and charge an additional $1000 per year to accept VISA and Mastercard. With LCMS I worked really hard to get organize a payout percentage to match those rates, without the $1000 yearly cc fees. I used to be a huge fan of Zombaio but they're in a state of...flux, impending doom, not so sure which yet.

Indy is hard work but boils down to a pretty basic concept. Work hard, be creative, do your own thing and most importantly really enjoy the journey. Then cash the checks
