Ok. How about the movie, "Stepford Wives" (original). The ending, when Kattherine Ross's trying to get away, & the dummy (of her) w/the blank eyes is coming toward her..sooo scary! I wish they'd show it more! A classic.

Two haunted dolls from Key West

I was a little disappointed with Annabelle . Even dead silence was scarier!
"Well done. Here are the test results: You are a horrible person. I'm serious, that's what it says: 'A horrible person.' We weren't even testing for that."

I honestly feel like I am totally burned out on most horror. Gore just isn't gory enough, demons are just pricks, stories (even "based on a true story" ones) are just stories. I'm at this point where the only reaction 95% of the horror movies get out of me is a jump scare, which isn't even fear- just surprise.
The only thing that does it for me now are the things that are completely plausible and make me think "wow, humans are fucked up." And when I say plausible, I mean actually plausible. The first Saw touched on it and left me on edge, but didn't actually scare me because it was a little too outlandish and the continuation just left me bored. Hostel did do it cause that's totally believable in Eastern Europe. A Clockwork Orange was amazing as a conspiracy theorist and left me trembling.
For some reason, OLD SCHOOL slashers with really shitty effects do it too. Maybe it's a weird connection to actually being able to be frightened by those sorts of effects when I was young?
Exotic dancing is like any other job.If you work in an office, you wear dress shoes and a suit.If you work in a restaraunt, you wear skid resistant shoes and a uniform. If you work in a strip club, you wear 7" stilettos and lycra g-strings.

That reminds me of another doll movie. I don't remember the name but it probably came out about 6-7 years ago where this woman was evil (I think)and was buried with her dolls after the town killed her. I don't know if I saw the television trailer but the radio one was really scary and they used to play it in the morning show.

A Haunting in Connecticut really creeped me out, when they find the bodies in the walls... because that could TOTALLY happen in real life.

Im such a puss but did any of you all watch Unsolved Mysteries?
I mean real murderers and f*ckin aliens that were lurking around but strangely no one could seem to find?!?!
That shit had me sleeping with closet doors open and lights on

Yes! Haven't watched it in awhile, but for sure! I've even read some way scary serial murder/true crime books! I had to stop, as I lost much sleep, lol.

Another scary scene.

after much consideration ... 'Audition' ( 1999 )

I couldn't find any of the videos but a lot of scenes from I spit on your grave the remake, 1 & part 2. Any violence on a helpless woman scares me more than a creepy unknown stalker/dolls/clowns. American horror story is scary as well but its not without its charms. As scary as movies can be, nothing rattles me the way the news channels do.

Is anyone planning to see the Ouija movie that comes out this weekend? It looks semi decent and I haven't seen that premise before (surprisingly).
The possession stuff scares me because for some reason, I find it more plausible/likely to happen than the hack-and-slash stuff... despite the recent news reports of people cutting up their significant others. What kinda logic that is, I don't know.

The one possession movie I really love and think was totally underrated: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0431021/
I think you would really love it.

I didn't really like Audition, either, except for this scene:
And even that doesn't seem scary when I rewatch it out of context.
But I do love Japanese and Korean horror. They had that renaissance in the late 90s-00s where they had such great movies. Ringu, Ju-On, A Tale of Two Sisters, Dark Water, etc. Then it seems like there haven't been as many good ones coming out lately.
I agree with Whirlerz that one of the scariest moments in a horror movie to me, when I was little, was the end of Carrie. I watched that with my mom and my sister the night my sister refused to go to prom. I was like ten at the time and that hand coming out of the grave made me scream out loud. They made fun of me the rest of the night.
Also, Dead Alive traumatized when I was a kid:
I didn't realize it was supposed to be comedy until I was grown up. I blame see it for the first time when I was about 6.
