Default Going back to a club...

So this summer, I quit at my first club after working there about six months because the money got bad and management had charged me backhouse out of nowhere for a day I wasn't scheduled and made me pay it all at once.

I started at a new place, and to be honest, management is worse and I actually feel like I'm being bullied and messed with for a few incidents. Last night I was told to check out in 5min. So I wait and go up and then get told nobody said to come up. Boss radioed the bouncers and asked if they sent me up and they denied it. And then I got told to admit I was lying and go home. I stood my ground anyway though and said I was being truthful until he believed me.

Anyway, I can't deal with incidents like that anymore because they HAVE happened repeatedly (management barking my name in the dressing room and then when I ask whats up they say they're "messing with me" or "teasing me.") They know I'm a nice girl and won't argue back or retaliate which is why they do it. I'm just sick of it. I think I need to go back to the old place.

Question is: how do I go about that? Call? Go in person? And what do I say?

    Thank you!

Edit: I never officially "quit" my old place. I just stopped going in. But a jealous girl told management where my friend and I were working (we used to be friends with her and tried to help her when the money was bad there, as a backstory...) Also, in Chicago where there's a club "exclusivity" rule.

Any special reason you haven't told the ppl 'teasing' you to fk off? If you're sure they are just having a go at you bc they know you won't say boo, it might be time to find yourself a spine & let them know you deal w/ enough man-children as it is. Or, you could just not answer them unless they are coming to you w/ a legit purpose.

I would not go back to the previous club if you can find any other option. Not only was the $$ going down, but you would seriously go back to work for chumps who extorted $$ from you for smtg you hadn't even done? Where is the logic there? Go check other clubs b4 you even think abt going back to the first place, maybe the third time will be the charm.

Honestly, because I feel like I'm out of options. There are 3 clubs in Chicago (the city that is...it's hard for me to go elsewhere when I don't drive) and these are the two I've worked at. The 3rd is also not an option because they require a LOT of paperwork that I'm having trouble getting (I'm not a citizen so it's hard.) They also put the club name on tax forms and I'm a little scared that come my citizenship interview they're going to see I worked there on my record and not give me citizenship. I was going to wait until that goes through so I can work there. That or, I'm going to LA for the whole winter for an internship and to stay with my boyfriend, so I'll most likely be dancing out there (seeing as the $$ has been so lame lately I haven't been able to save much!)

Thank you though. You're right--I don't want to work for either of these clubs at this point. It's just I was trying to decide the better of two evils.

As far as telling them to fk off, it's management and a bouncer (who kinda act as management at times) so I don't know how to bring up how upset it made me and make it clear I'm not going to stand for it without getting fired. Lately girls have been getting fired for stupid reasons, so I'm trying to be as under the radar as I can...but I definitely want to stop their behavior towards me.

It shouldn't affect your citizenship interview since what you're doing is legal. I was a bit worried abt it too when I started my paperwork to enlist in the military but they said as long as it's legal & I had no charges associated w/ it then I was fine. Melonie or one of the others might be able to offer better perspective on that tho. Is there no way you & the mgmt of Club #3 could put 'waitress' or 'bartender' on your paperwork?

Re: teasing at your current club, can you not ignore them if they are woofing at you in the dressing room? Find a way to be quick & busy, even if you're just in there to switch outfits or retouch your makeup, don't stay in any single place too long. They can't harass you if they can't catch you. To address the jerking-around on the main floor, maybe it would help to remind them that every moment you're forced to waste indulging their childishness is time that could have been spent trying to make them $$. Be direct but subtle.

Last night when I got called up (by the same guy), I began walking up, turned around and said "I am actually being called up this time, yes?"

I think it gave him a bit of a wake up call that I wasn't going to be fked with. Especially when I was one of two girls who got a VIP last night!

Unrelated: last night in VIP, my customer tried to put his hands down my thong and I never noticed until a few seconds afterwards, when I pulled his hand out. Everything is on videocam from the rooms. I told another girl on my shift what happened when we were talking about how the clientele were kind of handsy tonight and I'm sort of worried she said something to management and they're now going to twist it to be my fault or call the cops and say I'm being a prostitute or something. I don't know if this is plausible because they seem to love messing with me right now (and this would be a bigger step up.) Do you guys think I'm just worrying too much or is this something I should worry about? When I was cashing out last night the guy who did it(not the boss) called me a troublemaker jokingly...not sure if that had anything to do with it.

Kinda wondering how you could 'not notice' a guy putting his hand down your thong

Other than that, your 'I'm actually being called this time, right?' response was exactly what I meant. It is possible to be direct w/o overdoing it & shooting yourself in the foot, it sounds like that was just the thing to say to let him know you won't just jump whenever they demand it.

OP, do you at least have any sort of work permit and an ITIN? If you do, try the third club if you feel it may be better managed. Most clubs use a "business sounding" name (eg. BBS, LLC; Temp Enterprise, LP; etc.), rather than the club's actual name, especially since it's common for club owners to own many clubs and/or businesses. Also, there shouldn't be any "exclusivity" clause unless you are an employee of the club.

Him having his hands on my waist and me moving around and not realizing. And it wasn't far down, he just touched the top part of where my thong was. Even still though :/ I'm super clean and don't even let customers touch my breasts (even though that's technically "allowed" where I work...)

On the tax form club #3 gave me when they interviewed me it said the name of the club which is obviously a strip club :/ So I don't know...maybe I can talk to them again and see if they can help me out by putting me down as a waitress on the form.

And the exclusivity thing is pretty across the board in all the clubs in the actual city of Chicago. It sucks and I know it's illegal. In the burbs I don't think they care, but when my friend went back to our old club she was told to not do it again and to be "loyal to the club." Ugh. And no, I don't have a work permit or anything for this.

Be loyal to a club that most likely is not watching over her interests as well?! They can eat a dick.

    Get a work permit: http://www.alllaw.com/articles/nolo/...ermit-ead.html
You can pay for one with your dancing earnings. The "dollar den" subforum has advice on taxation, or sometimes you may find on the dressing room the business card of some "adult" friendly CPA. I saw a few of those business cards at several clubs I worked.

    Apply for your ITIN:
    http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw7.pdf

After having the work permit, use the ITIN to file your taxes; tax forms can be used as employment and residency verification in case you want to become a permanent resident or citizen.

Oh! I thought you meant specifically for dancing. I am eligible to work in the US and have a SSN

And right, the club loyalty thing is ridiculous...nobody should have to "look after" a business that isn't looking after them.

    Thank you though!
