Default Suggestions for pole in an apt?

Does anyone have experience with using poles that don't need to be bolted to the floor or ceiling, i.e. capable of being put in an apartment. I've seen some at the general sex shop that are like shower rods and have optional screws, but I'm obviously afraid of it coming undone. I feel like most are just novelty and not for actual pole dancing. Granted I'm barely over 110lbs and I can't do any intricate pole moves.

    Any suggestions?

Xpole, they are one of the best quality, several diameter & finish options & a pressure-mounted installation option rather than bolting-in. Platinum Stages may also have a pressure-mounted model but Idk for sure.

Definitely X-pole. Also I would check eBay for used poles. X-pole has a lot of models, and in my experience, the older ones work really well and you can get a good deal on them. Just be aware that it can be tough to find replacement parts if need be. However, I've had mine for 4 years and I bought it used. Still going strong!

Not to thread jack, but I was wondering almost the same thing. For my place though, the pole would probably have to be set up and taken down rather frequently, and the best space I have for it is a carpeted area. Would an X-Pole work for something like this?

Ooh I needed this thread... so an X-pole won't fuck up the ceiling? I live in an apt where the ceiling looks like this weird flimsy stucco and I really don't want to explain to maintenance that my stripper pole pulled a chunk of it down...

Yeah that would be super awkward.

From what I understand this is why a stud finder should be used during installation to find a support beam in the ceiling to attach the pole to to make sure it has proper support.

Even if it's one that you can move/take down?

Yes. Ever notice how the pole often moves a bit at work when a girl's on it, even when the pole is anchored at both ends & the girl isn't even using a lot of force? The force required to keep the pole solidly upright against the ceiling, combined w/ the force of your movements on/around the pole, can cause it to rip the ceiling if the pole is not mounted against a stable, solid area.
