I'm feeling... older. Not ready to go invasive on my face, yet.
What at-home brands do you recommend? wave frequency? warnings/tips?
Would very much appreciate input as I'm feeling quite insecure about this...

Hmm, have u tried any product tho? Currently I use Neutrogena serum..I am looking myself to step it up, but considering a better product. I went to a Derm, & Skinceuticals brand was highly recommended..

I was curious about the red light therapy - is that what you are referring to?

There's also a product by Dema Dr. brand, carried by Ulta & Sephora, it works w/the light of the sun, to produce a similar (not exactly of course) effect..
How about using a home peel prod.?
Also, I moisturize throughout the day, it makes a difference.

Botox really isn't invasive. I love it.

There's the magazine New Beauty..lots of anti aging info/Dr/procedure info. Not sure if it's in Aus. They have a website too.![]()

Ugh. I wish girls in their 20's realized the consequences of getting botox so young. It is not a preventitive thing. It paralyzes your muscles and your body builds up immunity to it. Hence why they came out with zeomin. I have girlfriends that have been getting it for 10 years and it's starting to make their foreheads sag. Girls i'm 45 and you don't need botox until your in your late thirties or 40's. I started getting it 3 years ago and believe me I'm a perfectionist and I did fine without it until 42. Ok. Red light is ok if your under 35. I had a series back when I was 32. I like ipl. I use to get series of those and peels.and I used mdforte 40 percent peels with retin a , a few times a year. and let me tell you. I believe that's what kept me looking so young and without the need for botox until 42.

Ok, been thinking of getting this..http://www.olay.com/en-us/skin-care-...eviews-wrapper
It has great reviews..Olay's been good for me overall.
Also: retinol prod. w/hyaluronic acid after cleansing, if sensitive try it twice a wk to start. HA plumps wrinkles up instantly, while retinol builds collagen & thickens skin over time.
A face serum w/multiple antioxidant will help prevent & repair damage. Shisedo Power Infusing Concentrate is one recommended..(I've nvr used)
Staying out of the sun & using high SPF sunscreen's important too. I love Sun Bum SPF 70.

Thankyou all.
Thanks Whirlez, I'm not a fan of most skincare products because of the nasty stuff in them... I found this review about Skinceuticals, some positives and some negatives.
I use Suikin, MooGoo, OrganicInstinct, DrBronners. Recently I have been using the oil cleansing method as a makeup remover/cleanser/moisturiser.
I think thats the appeal of the LLT; it seems to be 'safe'. Will have a search of the mag you suggested... cheers

Yes, Nikki,yellow light/ red light/blue light therapy.
Lokikola, I wont get botox- I would potentially get fat injections or fillers. My hubbie is anti-botox too- and though I wouldn't let that stop me if I was determined to use it, his opinion has influenced me (and I already had doubts). There is some evidence (that I can't remember the source- sorry) that botox interferes with emotions... I will hunt it down next time I surf. x
Michelle, thanks for the info, I will get researching. I am 34, and besides my forehead I do look in my mid 20's (at least I think I do); why dont you recomment redlight after 35?

Not a fan of commercial sunscreens... I would make my own or purchase one of the ones listed further down this article; http://www.jessainscough.com/2010/11...nscreen-guide/

Have you looked into microneedling?

better results and less money than hyped up creams, red light, etc. botox is amazing. other brands of the bacteria are dysport and xeomin and ive gotten the latter the last few times because it doesnt go bad as quickly as the other two so you dont have to worry as much about getting an expired product and no results.
and i used to live in la and was friends with many actresses and models. a pinch of botox on a regular basis starting in early mid 20s is normal, usually necessary to prevent fine lines from occuring. it doesnt cause your face to sag later on lol, thats from other factors. sagging skin is the other major sign of aging which is where fillers come in-injections at the temples will lift that skin and of course marionette lines and lips when necessary as well.

I'm bad at explaining things, but here's a neat article about it:
http://online.wsj.com/articles/can-m...ars-1412635710
I've never had it done professionally, and use a 1mm at home. I'm satisfied enough with the results to have ceased getting botox, though. My target area is a really deep wrinkle in the middle of my forehead, and doing this regularly keeps the wrinkle minimized to more of a fine line--whereas botox would completely eradicate the wrinkle... for three months.
In addition to microneedling I use custom ordered face products (but I think if you're making your own face products that's probably the better way to go!)

Because it's not very invasive. You need stronger stuff for better results. Botox is not cheaper than upkeep. Getting peels and a series of ipl. Or laser. In the long run will keep you from getting botox so early. I love how girls in their 20's justify when they haven't been around enough to see the results of atrophying a muscle will do 10 years down the line. There is fillers for fine lines. I love filler. Botox makes people in their 20's look old like kim k or meagan fox. There's nothing there to work on. Anyways, the red light was ok but I prefer ipl , deep peels and llaser. I also use 50 sunscreen everyday whether i go outside or not. I'm not against botox in your late 30's 40;s but your putting a poision in your body and not preventing shit not to mention bacterial proteins. If you do things that really prevent wrinkles in your 20's you won't have to worry about botox until later in life...

yikes, i think i'd rather have some wrinkles than sagging skin! they say hollow cheeks ( loss of facial fat), sagging skin, and marionette lines are what really makes people look older, even a woman in her 20s can have some fine lines. have you tried facial yoga?

Just started looking into that, theres a woman on realself who spoke about it...http://www.realself.com/user/2626. Instead of chemical peels I can do at home BHA or AHA right? for a gradual change...

Oh, you mentioned oils I think..I bought a trial size of L'oreal Age Perfect Glow Renewal facial oil, & love it. Only need small amts. too, it has English lavender, chamomile, rosemary oils etc. in it.
The Sun Bum sunscreen is hypoallergenic, has vitamin e, is paraben, & paba free, & also's recommended by the skin cancer foundation.
Also: what about vitamin C creams/products?

^ C is good. I had an eshetisian (sp) tell me they've done studies and it's one of the only things that actually produces more collagen. I used cellex c in my 30's and it was ok and extremely expensive. honestly using a retin a product with a 20-40% peel for 3 months will do more than a C product. Some good C products are Murad and perricone.

Yea. Sephora has the newest Perricone prod. a moisturizer Hydro something. It's gotten very strong reviews.

What about those high frequency skin and hair machines?

I saw a home laser in a recent Allure mag..it looked like the 'ribbon symbol' for cancer. It costs about 700.00
