Part of this will depend on the club's cut vs the dancer cut. I have worked at one club that took 50% of all rooms, & clubs that just took closer to 20%, & a couple that would say $XYZ is the base price but you can charge on top of that. This applies to LDs as well, altho the LD prices are typically set by the club & it's just a matter of how much the club takes from them.
The dancer is under NO obligation by the club to sell rooms, IME. Drinks, maybe, if they have a drink commission setup, but I have nvr seen a club that pushPushPUSHes the dancers to sell rooms the way sm of them push drink sales. Maybe other girls can chime in on that if they have experienced that kind of setup.
Sm clubs, frankly, simply have a piss-poor VIP arrangement. A good salesgirl will find ways around that, if there are any, or just stick w/ pushing for normal LDs if those are really the more reliable sell.
A $40 tip on top of $155 sounds like roughly 25% -- sounds good to me, esp if you were pleased w/ the experience your dancer provided!
I have only rarely seen a customer tip a bouncer appropriately, bc the customer saw him do smtg to deserve it i.e. Removing an uninvited, intrusive girl or dealing w/ another problem customer. Idk how much the bouncers received in those cases, as I am extremely close abt $$ & find it very rude to discuss what other ppl make. I guess the amt would depend on the occasion or action, but as just a 'Thnx for being available if the fur flies!' kinda thing? I think a $10 note would be a good start. Sadly, most of the clubs I have worked either didn't require tipping-out for bouncers, or the min was disgustingly low for guys who actually cared abt the dancers they were there to protect.
Honestly, when it comes to tipping bouncers, I have seen customers do it much more frequently w/ the intent of being 'left alone' -- I guess you would call it more of a bribe than a tip
