We started way too late ourselves and I'm kicking myself for not doing it the second I immigrated, but late is better than never and something is better than nothing.
Most types of IRA and 401k have Roth and Traditional versions. The Traditional versions are what allows you to write any contributions off your taxes. Roth variants do not. SEP/Simple/(vanilla?) are variations that allow you to contribute different amounts depending on your tax and employment status.

I did buy one toy (150$, lovense lush), lingerie (250$, but I did it also for myself to enjoy LOL) and one cam (80$) to start and these things already paid themselves with tips. I'm a freaking budget freak. Like, I love to save money and as I treat camming as a business, here's how I will split down my earnings:
40% taxes.
10% towards buying things for camming (toys, lingerie, clothes, etc).
40% to save and buy Vanguard ETF funds. These things gave me free money in the long run !
10% for fun money (actually I think I'm going to put these in a cruise fund. Then go on a fucking cruise all by myself and film the shit out of it).
My other job (nursing) is just barely enough to cover my bare life expenses. As I budget everything with a software, I can live on it without living paycheck to paycheck.
Hopefully I will received all checks at my adress and will be able to deposit them smoothly ! Then I'll be able to redirect my money to the right accounts.

Was playing around with my spreadsheet made this chart.
since I am working the Dave Ramsey baby steps. goal right now is to have $700 for my buffer account, and my starter emegency fund $1,000
then snowball my debt as fast as I can and then on to building my 6 months emergency fund.
So this chart will be really helpful when it comes time to saving for my first home down payment.

A part of all you earn is yours to keep. It should be not less than a tenth no matter how little you earn. It can be as much more as you can afford. - Richest Man in Babylon
