I work out, I don’t eat enough, and am always in the club.

I run, five to six days per week. I am working on a five minute mile right now. That governs my training schedule.

A five minute mile is pretty impressive.

I'm at 5:30 right now after spending a year working by 5K time to just under 20 minutes. There's a open track series at UNC that has races once a week starting in April. My goal is to hit a 5:00 by mid-summer. Lots of training between now and then. I'm on a workout program to get there. I never ran in high school, so I don't know what my real capability is. But, my coach thinks that 5:00 is possible.

I also got a fitbit flex for Christmas. I had mentioned in previous threads that I wanted to gain a couple of lbs. (My abs look decent , but I was tired, looked gaunt, minor pulls & injuries).
The flex tracks my food but also fat, sodium, carb and protein intake. It turns out I was burning tons of calories a day and only taking in about 800! I had no idea, it seemed like I was eating enough. I feel much better now, doubling my calorie intake.
I also found out I was getting more than half my calories from fat!
For fitness: the gym, the pole (at home, classes, at work), yoga, different forms of cardio: walking, HIIT type stuff, jumping rope.

I love yoga & walking, but haven't done much walking since it's so cold out..I have one of those band things, you put it around ankle & stretch w/your other foot/leg

To OP: If you find you get sugar cravings bad I found after taking protein that the cravings virtually vanish. And if you crave chocolate chances are you are low in magnesium.
For staying fit, I really want a fitbit, I walk everyday and do weight training 2 or 3 times a week. I dance my butt off on the odd weekend, and always on my feet moving around at work. I eat okay...could be better because I like to dine out often. But I recently lost 16 lbs going gluten free so that's always an option
Hi Girls - I am a home 'worker outer'. I used to have a gym membership but found it was a waste of time. When I am not being lazy I work out for 30 mins a day whilst watching TV (ha ha still sounds lazy) I do things like squats, lunges, plie, mountain pose whilst holding a 5kg weight in each hand. I do standing leg raises for abs workouts and I do pec raises and fly for arms and some triceps work. It really does the trick. I saw Hale Berry in Cat Woman last night and she inspired my lazy ass to work out every day rather than every second or third like I do currently. If you Google her routine I found by chance my workout is kinda similar to hers. Of couse I don't look like her but for a 'mature' chick I look pretty freaking awesome and thats just on my lazy routine. So for me personally I dont bother with Gym as I found it was a waste of money for me.
Diet: I am what is now called a 'clean eater'. I find food fad names change all the time! I just call it 'eating like the doctor told you to' I dont eat red meat because its hard to digest and gives me acid reflux so over the years cut out sugar, processed foods, carbs and all the rubbish we shouldn't eat. I dont drink alcohol, I do however have a coffee vice;-). I eat fruit, veg, fish, natural yoghurt, cottage cheese, heaps of beans that I soak and cook myself. I take magnesium suplement in a powdered form and a vitamin B tab and fish oil and calcium suplements.
This works for me and I feel and look great living like this and its not a sacrifice, but i realise for many this may be a bit full on. I'm an oldie and I had to slowly change my diet over the years to feel this great and look not so bad ;-)

You guys might hate me since there's so many clean eaters and multiple days a week at the gym types here, but in case anyone who can't manage these things is lurking, I'll share weight loss/maintenance tips for the 'unhealthy' types. (Also, I'm not sure if I won the genetic lottery, but I asked my Dr to test whatever insurance would cover last year and everything was perfect in her words.)
When I start getting chubby I do one of two things. One is mostly fasting (I allow myself a little yogurt or something) until as late in the day as possible. At that point, I eat whatever I want as long as it's 1200 calories or less. It could be a Chipotle burrito, when I ate meat it could be a McD's value meal. This way, I get to binge while restricting. I've lost 30lbs within months twice this way and kept it off for several years after reverting back to a normal calorie intake. For some reason eating small meals throughout the day doesn't work nearly as well for me, even when I'm meticulous about calorie count. The type of food doesn't matter much for me, either. Every metabolism is different, I guess.
The second way is even more unhealthy and way more sad, but when I depend on alcohol to get to sleep (unfortunately I do now) I estimate my number of drinks per day. Five drinks without a mixer (ugh I know) is a cheeseburger, and a little less than half my calorie intake for the day. I very very rarely go past one 'cheeseburger,' but it helps to imagine intake this way. For every 2.5 drinks, take the equivalent of half a cheeseburger away from your calorie budget. If you do drink, whatever you do, don't go out to breakfast after work, and keep only healthy food at home! This is the #1 key to successful weight control if you're an alcoholic. (PS -- take vitamins.)
Ok -- workouts. I'm allergic to gyms and I'm one of the small percentage of women who bulk up when weights come into the picture (bodybuilders in my family) so I can't give any advice there. If conventional workouts don't do it for you either, working a lot of shifts in a club where you do actual dances -- not just sit in VIP all night sipping champagne -- is a great and can cover your bare minimum exercise needs in conjunction with watching your calorie intake (duh). I work in a club where the goal is sitting in VIP sipping champagne for hours, so I need more. I trick myself into exercise by walking everywhere I can, and when I'm really pushing it chub wise, listening to a long podcast and run up and down the same two stairs in my building.
This might not be enough to carry me through my 30s and beyond, and I do plan on using a hip abductor machine any day now that my ass is a little less perky, but like I said maybe this will help lazy lurkers out there as a stepping stone to fitness.
I really need to get back into it, I'm looking kind of skinny fat (IRL, I don't even know how I look in the club). Thanks to everyone posting -- it's given me motivation.
I like kettlebell, pilates, and random high intensity interval training workouts. I found some good burlesque and stripping workout routines on youtube yesterday, some designed to do in heels! There was one called the victoria secrets stilletto supermodel workout, or something similar, it kicked my ass! It was mainly legs, but some core/ balance too. I noticed that since I started camming part/ full time - I have to drink way more water/ eat more, and stay in better shape - for me it's been a really important part of the job so far. Some days I really feel like cam girls are amateur athletes. Yoga helps a lot too, for general flexibility, when "interesting" requests come in.

I eat vegan and do yoga. I have been slim and trim for years because of it.![]()

I normally go to the gym and do pretty intense circuits of weights and HIIT but at the moment im really struggling to find the motivation to go. I got a tattoo midway through Jan and haven't been since. How do you guys motivate yourselves to get the hell out of the house and go to the gym?

I LOVE my gym![]()
Being around other people motivates me to push harder. I go to the gym 6 days a week, I do at least 30 minutes of cardio (either running, spinning or jumping rope) and I lift weights alternating muscle groups every day. 90% of my diet is also eating clean.. no processed food- no sugar, and very little alcohol.
jessicag, we should!
This weekend I'm becoming a godmother for the first time and goint to my friend's baby twins' christening. SO, I decided to fast for a few days... just stay away from everything I like and eat very little and very selectively (stay away from anything that might be a pleasure to eat lol). I know that it's got nothing to do with staying fit... but I guess I want to put my willpower to a test this way before I magically change my life around into making those healthy choices... (yeah right). I'll report on Monday how that went- been 14 hours so far and I'm still surviving.

I eat right. Low carb diet, tons of salads and lots of fish. I've maintained my measurements of 36-24-36 my entire life and only weighing between 125-129 forever. My waist has never deviated below 23 inches and it's never gone above 24 inches. I play tennis as well, always been one of my favorite sports. Lately I've joined a curling team here in Houston and also started Zumba in the last week and that's a lot of fun!!! Other than that, my workout consists of jump roping, walking/running, leg lifts, crunches and minimum arm and leg exercises. I don't do a lot on my arms and legs because I can get too muscular in those areas. But I do enough to keep it all toned and slim but not too athletic looking.

Lately I've been doing my elliptical machine for 45 minutes, 5 times a week. I try to eat healthy throughout the day and I don't have any carb type or sweet snacks at home that might tempt me. I try not to eat heavy after 6 o'clock in the evening and I drink lots water so I won't feel so hungry, but if need to snack I eat baby carrots, celery sticks or cucumbers.
I cleaned up my diet significantly and am cooking 90% of my meals now myself. I am bulking right now so I do 2-3 smoothies a day in addition to 2-3 meals and snacks. Whole foods only! But if I cheat I don't beat myself up, since the majority of everything I eat is really good for me. I work out with my kettlebell every other day.
There will always be haters, might as well get paid
My diet is a frigging mess. You're all definitely inspiring me to sort it out. Ive said to myself that today im gonna go to the gym for 5 minutes. Just 5 minutes and if after 5 minutes I want to quit I can but im 99% certain once I actually get my ass in there I'll be totally pumped and ready to do a proper workout.
