Dermablend requires very frequent touchups IME. It's also difficult to find an exact match, and it tends to turn colors as it oxidizes. It is far more effective than the Kat Von D line, but in the long run the best is temptu. These are the kits: http://temptu.com/pro/learn/master-c...attoo-coverage. You don't need the airbrush for it to work either. It seriously does not budge.

I didn't buy the kit myself but had a makeup artist apply it + eyelashes for $20 every night I worked. I spend an absurd amount of money on it and it was worth every penny.
I am so relieved to work in a club now where mgmt and clientele don't seem to care though!

Dermablend is a great concealer. One of those larger tubes is expensive indeed, but can last for a very long time. It is even considered to be waterproof, at least some types of it. Yes, it can stay on for a while, but the length of time depends on the part of the body where it goes on. I have a small tattoo on my lower back, so I have used it cover the tattoo, which worked great. The only issue was that the concealer was getting on gstrings and costumes, and the stains had to be treated or even bleached out later, but that is something that happens with any makeup. I also thought that dermablend felt a bit greasy and needed additional setting powder being applied and reapplied. Another small trick to get it to stay on longer - use hairspray right on the area after the application of concealer and powder. As far as colors, I usually get two shades and mix them depending on how tan or pale I am at the moment; same with foundation.
Dermablend didn't do much to cover my tattoo. I used it while filming for an uptight producer who said he didn't want any tattooed girls(I only have one tattoo). He told me that I either had to wear a huge bandage over it or hide it with makeup. It lightened my tattoo but my tattoo was still visible. I've also used it on stretchmarks that had faded to a silvery color on my fair skin. It did help somewhat with those, at least. I only used the cream concealer in the tube though. If you have the setting powder and the concealer perhaps that will work better for you.

You can try just going to Sephora & asking for samples of the tattoo cover up products. I did that & they gave me enough of the foundation & setting powder to try out for a few uses & like someone else said ^ spray it with hairspray afterwards to set it more. That usually keeps it from rubbing off so easily. Good luck!

What about using one of the newer foundations, w/setting powder? Just an idea.
Also, Ben Nye has makeup, made for the stage, & I believe it's waterproof? There was a previous thread on here about it, & a similar brand.
I know all the costume stores in downtown Chicago have B.Nye.
